The 17th Annual Tribeca Film Festival isn’t all about film, and we have some highlights of the upcoming television goodies you can find there.
GENIUS is National Geographic’s first scripted anthology series.
The premiere season will focus on scientist Albert Einstein and will be based on Walter Isaacson’s critically acclaimed book “Einstein: His Life and Universe,” adapted by writer Noah Pink.
The all-star cast includes Geoffrey Rush (“The Secret Life of Peter Sellers”) as the elder Einstein, Johnny Flynn (“Lovesick”) as Einstein in his youth, and Emily Watson (“Theory of Everything”) as the enigmatic genius’s second wife—and first cousin—Elsa Einstein.
The first episode is directed by Ron Howard, the legendary director’s first time directing scripted television.
Through 10 episodes, GENIUS will chart how an imaginative, rebellious patent clerk, who couldn’t get a teaching job or a doctorate, unlocked the mysteries of the atom and the universe.
