Lipstick Jungle Cancelled, Fanatic Moving

We’re very sorry to report to our fellow Lipstick Jungle fans that our favorite show has officially been cancelled. Even Brooke Shields, who continued to hold out hope has confirmed the news.

As a result, we are moving all the recaps, quotes, pictures and videos of Lipstick Jungle over to our parent site, TV Fanatic. You can still find all the same high quality Lipstick Jungle information here.

We hope you continue to enjoy the features of Lipstick Jungle Fanatic at its new home!

Lipstick Jungle is Definitely Cancelled

To those that been holding out for Joe and Victory’s wedding on Lipstick Jungle: you may finally exhale because it ain’t happening.

Even Brooke Shields, who refused to accept the fact that Lipstick Jungle was over, has finally come to terms with it. The actress recently spoke to E! News about the cancellation.

“It was going to stay and we just were officially told it’s finally not coming back. It’s very sad,” said Shields. “I think a lot of people were really sad, but I think we hung on a really long time. It was three great years that we’ve been working on it.”

Fortunately, you can catch Kim Raver in Shona Rhimes’ new pilot, Inside the Box, and Lindsay Price in the new witch pilot, Eastwick. As for Shields? Well, for now, look for her in the Latisse, the eyelash-lengthening treatment commercials.

If you care about the guys: Andrew McCarthy will star on the new Gossip Girl spin-off, while the sexy Robert Buckley will appear again on Privileged… if that series ever returns.

Lindsay Price: Lipstick Jungle Switching Networks?

Recently the NBC President announced that they were looking into alternatives for Lipstick Jungle to not cancel it. Now, Lindsay Price enlightens us on some of those ideas.

According to what the actress told E! Online at the M.A.C.Cosmetics Hello Kitty event, Lipstick Jungle may be moving to “Bravo or Lifetime…That’s what they’re saying…Or they’re talking about maybe doing what they did with Friday Night Lights—airing on DirecTV and then later on NBC.”

Oh, and, of course, they had to ask the all important question, if Joe and Victory got married, which designer would Victory wear? “I don’t know. Maybe Peter Som, who does some of our stuf… Oh, actually she’d probably do her own dress.” Victory’s dream dress? “Maybe old-school Givenchy. Or Valentino!”

NBC President: Lipstick Jungle Officially NOT Cancelled

So on a day where NBC President announced they were renewing 30 Rock, The Office and The Biggest Loser (ugh!), Angela Bromstad also delivers us Lipstick Jungle fans some good news.

According to the president, “We officially have not canceled Lipstick Jungle,” Bromstead adds. “I think that there are alternatives that we may look into for Lipstick Jungle; it’s all conversation for fall. We have to see what our pilots are.”

She contiues to deliver the good news by saying, “We feel very strongly about Life, Friday Night Lights and Lipstick Jungle, we won’t replace shows that are loved by fans just for the sake of putting another show on.”

So what do you guys think, does Lipstick Jungle still have a fighting chance?

“La Vie in Pose” Recap, Pics and Quotes

“La Vie En Pose” was definitely the season two finale of Lipstick Jungle and might possibly be the series finale if NBC doesn’t renew our favorite show. Luckily, it may not have been written as closure for the series, but it did at least provide us with some good promise for each of our favorite ladies.

Victory and Joe celebrated their engagement party and Joe seemed more than willing to compromise to Victory’s ideal wedding to make it happen. Nico and Griffin broke up and Kirby stepped up and was ready to do whatever it took to get her back. Wendy and Shane seem to be working out just fine with Shane gone. You can catch up on the full story in our “La Vie En Pose” recap.

We’re not going to lie, we’d love to have many more seasons of this fantastic show, but at least we got to end on a high not for each of our beloved ladies. We’ve done our best to capture some of the best pictures and quotes from the episode. A sampling of our favorites to follow.

“Lover’s Leap” Recap and Pics

Friday night’s episode of Lipstick Jungle finally saw what we only couldn’t wait for… Victory proposed to Joe! In addition to this monumental occasion, we unfortunately saw Nico moving further away from Kirby and closer to Griffin. Wendy, meanwhile, finally found a solution to her problems with Shane: sending him off on tour!

Lipstick Jungle Season 2 Episode 13 Recap: La Vie En Pose

Victory
Victory’s parents arrive in New York via a private jet that Joe chartered for them. They are from the midwest and are simple people that would rather stay at Victory’s that at the room in the Four Seasons that Joe booked for them. When Joe meets them at the house, he struggles to find anything to talk to her dad about. Victory and her mom discuss wedding plans and she tells her that Joe doesn’t really want a traditional wedding.

Joe tells her parents about plans he made for them for a nice dinner and a helicopter ride. Victory is concerned about Joe’s spending and confronts him about it and he tells her she need never worry about it again. Victory then goes to Wendy for advice and tells her of Joe’s situation. Joe takes her parents for a private showing in the art museum and when the topic of them having kids comes up, things get a little awkward.

At the engagement party, Victory asks her father if he’s going to give his typical long speech and he says no. Victory goes to confront her father in the kitchen and reminds him of how his parents disapproved of his marriage to her Korean mother. He doesn’t want her to marry Joe because he thinks Joe wants to isolate her from the world.   After the party Joe saves the day when he calls Victory’s mom and asks her to book the wedding at her hometown Church, he wants a traditional wedding with their family involved. Aww!

Wendy
Wendy is struggling with Maddie who she has to even fight just to say goodbye to her father before he leaves on Tour. Sal then tips Wendy off to a some movie rights about a Bonfire exclusive story that he thinks would be perfect for Wendy. When Maddie comes home that night to a Shane-less home way past curfew she admits she was in Paul’s dorm room. Wendy grounds her and tells her he’s too old for her.

At the engagement party, Griffin thanks Wendy for the invite and tries to find out more about the movie rights. Wendy refuses to throw Sal under the bus. When Joe overhears that Wendy is short on cash and that Griffin is about to win the movie rights, he offers to help bankroll the project. Wendy lets it slip she knows his financial situation and tells him not to worry about it.

Wendy then notices a very drunk Maddie sneaks into the party and she hails a cab to take her home in. At home, a drunk upset Maddie tells Wendy it’s all her fault Shane left and he isn’t coming home. Maddie then ends up puking. When Wendy talks to Shane she doesn’t tell him about what Maddie did and the mother and daughter end up patching things up a bit.

Nico
The episode opens with Nico listening to her messages when she gets one from Kirby saying Happy New Year from Aspen with a girl’s voice in the background. Griffin then comes to visit Nico with a document from the legal department acknowledging their relationship. She’s nervous to let anyone in the company to know and he tells her to rewrite it to something that makes her comfortable.

Griffin comes to visit Nico later to see if she’s finished the letter yet and she still hasn’t. He then accuses her of tipping Wendy off to the movie rights to one of their stories and she’s extremely insulted.   Nico, having been passed up to go to a party that her blogger got invited to, hires Dahlia to try and get her some fresh PR. Dahlia gets her booked on the Today Show for the following day.

Nico goes to visit Wendy that night to find out who gave her the tip about the movie rights and confesses to Wendy about her relationship with Griffin. Rather than being angry she convinces her to invite Griffin to Victory’s engagement party.   Nico goes on the Today Show and the interview quickly turns to discuss her past relationship with the young Kirby. As everyone is watching, including Kirby and Griffin, she defends her relationship and talks about how mature it was.

At the engagement party, Griffin tells Nico he’s upset that she couldn’t spend a few minutes to write the letter about their relationship but has no problem going on national television to discuss her relationship with her ex. He leaves the party. When Nico is at home, Kirby comes by that night and wants to get back together.

The Ending
Unsure of whether this is a season finale or the series finale, the producers decided to end the show with a montage of clips from the season that ended with the women all saying I Love You to each other. We hope it was only a season finale! Come on NBC!

Lipstick Jungle Season 2 Episode 12 Recap: Lover’s Leap

Nico
The episode opens with Nico discussing the risks of freezing her eggs unfertilized. Nico arrives at her office to find flowers and mistakeningly thinks they’re from Kirby when he calls to thank her about the job. At work, Griffin meets with Nico to discuss candidates for the blogger position and he admits he sent the flowers. During the interviews, Griffin hires one of the people on the spot. An angered Nico confronts him in the elevator but ends up kissing him.

We then cut to Nico with Wendy waking up after her procedure, they were able to retrieve eight eggs. Nico and Griffin confront their new hire after she broke the Bonfire cover story online. Griffin fires her and Nico reveals she likes girl. She’ll find a new cover story. Nico then privately talks to her and tells her she wants to be on her side.

Griffin comes to visit Nico in her office and tells her of his rule not to date co-workers. He also tells her about his desire to take care of her. When she tells him she doesn’t need him to take care of her, he tells her to take him out to lunch. Nico then runs into Kirby and he asks her if there’s room for more flowers at her office. He even tries inviting her on their Aspen trip as a friend. Poor Kirby.

Wendy
Wendy is busy setting up a new divider she bought to set up her home office. While setting it up she finds printed plane tickets of Shane’s that makes her think he’s still considering the tour. They agree to discuss it further at counseling. Well more so Wendy.

At counseling we find out that Shane has agreed to do a performance with Natasha tonight in New York but says he hasn’t agreed to the whole tour. Wendy and crew go out to watch Natasha perform that night and afterwards she suggest the whole family come with him on tour. He definitely is not happy. Outside, Natasha invites Shane and Wendy out to a club performance. Wendy goes home and Shane stays out. Later that night Shane comes home wasted and knocks over the divider and passes out on the couch.

The next morning Maddie is helping Wendy repair the divider Shane knocked over. Shane wakes up and is extremely hungover and snaps at Maddie when she’s making coffee for him. After Wendy has coffee with the girls, she decides to tell Shane he should go on tour. They seem to work things out as they lay in bed setting ground rules for the trip.

Victory
Victory with the help from Wendy has decided how to she wants to propose to Joe. She’s going to stitch “Will You Marry Me” into a suit jacket. Victory heads to Joe’s closet to find one of his suits for her plan. Ellen tells Victory that Joe is in China on business. However, when Joe walks into the room she finds out she was obviously lied to. She asks Joe for dinner on Friday night for their one year anniversary. He seems very distracted but agrees to a quick hour long dinner.

Victory sets up a table with dinner for two at her house. Joe is still working and Ellen presses him to at least call. The next day, Ellen is shocked to hear that Joe never showed up at Victory’s. She sends Victory to where Joe probably is… by the fair where his first job was.

Victory arrives there to find Joe feeding seaguls. He confesses that he’s lost all his money and has to start over. Victory doesn’t care, he owns her heart. She asks him to marry her and he says yes!

Lipstick Jungle Recap: “Indecent Exposure”

Wow, was Friday’s episode of Lipstick Jungle fantastic for fans of Victory and Joe. After Victory said no to his proposal Joe more or less disappeared from the show until Friday. Now it looks like things are strong than ever between the couple!

Unfortunately, things for Nico and Kirby were not so good. They look no closer and Nico looks to be growing closer to Griffin of all people. Shane and Wendy are definitely experiencing their own share of marital problems. All together it was a great episode and you should catch up with our “Indecent Exposure” recap.

“Indecent Exposure” Recap and Pics

Wow, how good was Friday’s episode, “Indecent Exposure?” I have to admit, it started off angering me with Shane’s latest arc and Nico getting close with Griffin, but OMG, when Joe returned, this easily became one of my favorite episodes.
