Our review of Invasion Season 2 Episode reveals how humanity's last-gasp battle plan hinges on the mentally drained Caspar and Mitzuki to be successful.

Here's hoping Invasion receives a third-season order from Apple TV+ because viewers were left with a cliffhanger.

Humanity made its long-awaited counterassault on the alien mother ship on Invasion Season 2 Episode 10.

Still, do two people, one being a teenager, qualify as a counterassault?

A Risky Operation - Invasion
(AppleTV+)

That will depend on whether Trevante can determine how to wield that shard most efficiently.

There's also the question of Caspar's abilities beyond transferring his consciousness to that ship. He's got to be more than a celestial tour guide.

Recovering Mitzuki - Invasion Season 2 Episode 10
(Apple TV+ (screenshot))

And making all of this possible was Mitzuki, who got pushed to her limits after visiting the mother ship on Invasion Season 2 Episode 9.

All her interaction with the alien portal had left Mitzuki, to use a technical term, more than a little scrambled.

She was holding things just slightly more together than that ward full of the scientists who had formerly interacted with the alien entity she later identified as a portal.

Mitzuki needed time to recover, but unfortunately, humanity couldn't give that to her.

Anchoring Mitsuki - Invasion Season 2 Episode 10
(Apple TV+ (screenshot))

Mitzuki's obsession had been to learn the alien language. Now, it wouldn't stop running through her head.

So, it fell to Maya to protect Mitzuki as best she could under the circumstances.

Throughout Nikhil's project, there appeared to be more to Maya and Mitzuki's relationship than doctor and patient. Mitzuki didn't seem to reciprocate Maya's feelings, but she must have appreciated her ministrations.

Unlike recently, Mitzuki couldn't draw on her memories to keep herself grounded.

Ready for Battle - Invasion Season 2 Episode 10
(Apple TV+)

It fell to Maya to use her memories of her time with Mitzuki to keep Mitzuki stable while she tried to keep the portal open to be used by soldiers. But that didn't work, and three soldiers paid for that mistake.

It wasn't until Mitzuki convinced Maya to let her go and let the alien consciousness overtake her that she could gain the needed control, ultimately allowing Trevante to go through.

Trevante had had himself a day up until that point.

After being released by Aneesha, he and Rose helped her search for her missing daughter, Sarah.

Shocked Rose - Invasion Season 2 Episode 10
(Apple TV+)

It was a horrific scene when the two of them and Clark came upon the catatonic residents, including Rose's ex-husband Billy, who had been abducted by the aliens and then tested by the military.

Rose had finally found all those missing people she had told their loved ones she would bring home. Trevante had to be the one to explain to her that those loved ones would rather have hope than the reality of their current status.

They ultimately agreed to come back for them when they found a way to improve their condition.

Trevante heard Caspar's voice and took off, eventually virtually reunited with the teen he had met in London months ago.

Assault Force - Invasion Season 2 Episode 10
(Apple TV+ (screenshot))

It was great to see those two reconnect, especially after Trevante's heartfelt explanation about how Caspar's notebook had brought him to Project Idabel.

General Mitchell and WDC President Benya shouldn't have rejected Trevante's offer to accompany Caspar, especially after Caspar vouched for him. After all, they needed Caspar, and Trevante already had successfully battled against the aliens.

Instead, they sent him away, although it was evident that that wouldn't stand. Trevante would not give up on his campaign against the aliens, which had cost him his career and his remaining family.

Mitchell did come around, handing the shard to Trevante before he stepped into the portal. Trevante had only begun to figure out what it could do before he stumbled onto Caspar aboard the mother ship.

Having to Readjust - Invasion Season 2 Episode 10
(Apple TV+ (screenshot))

Caspar had to separate from Jamila and clear his mind before his consciousness returned to the mother ship. He didn't need that distraction.

He was just as exhausted as Mitzuki but had little choice in the matter. Those two and Luke had abilities that few on Earth did and were needed as a result.

It's easy to feel bad for Monty. He's captivated by Jamila, but a relationship between them just isn't meant to be.

Using Caspar's drawing, he did get Jamila to see that fate was taking her and Caspar in two different directions, and she was needed there.

Leading the Defense - Invasion Season 2 Episode 10
(Apple TV+)

Her goodbye to Caspar was heartbreaking, giving him back his drawing of her only to have it drop from his hand when his consciousness left. That seemed like an end.

It was heartening that Clark convinced the military to join forces with the Movement against the aliens, which they should have been doing all along, rather than abducting and jailing civilians who wanted the same thing they did.

It was revealed that the other special children had been communicating with Luke all this time, and they helped him defeat the aliens protecting the portal.

How that was being accomplished wasn't at all clear.

Man in Charge - Invasion Season 2 Episode 10
(Apple TV+ (screenshot))

But a handful of psychically gifted humans isn't going to be enough to turn the tide against the aliens.

No, Caspar and Trevante will have to cause significant damage on the mother ship, which appears to be some nesting area.

Also, Mitzuki is going to have to rally enough that they could get some reinforcements.

But first, Apple must come through with a third season so Caspar and Trevante aren't stuck for eternity.

Is Mitzuki a goner?

What can Trevante and Caspar accomplish by themselves?

Mitsuki informs Maya that she had gone to the alien's mother ship.

She says that if they can learn to use the portals, they can send people to the ship.

While sirens blare, Rose, Trevante, and Clark are shocked by what they find at Project Idabel.

Trevante convinces Rose to leave behind for now the local people who had been taken by the aliens and left catatonic.

Trevante hears Caspar's voice and goes to find him.

General Mitchell is planning remotely with WDC President Benya and Caspar and Trevante sneaks up on him.

Casper and Trevante spot each other.

Casper vouches for Trevante when Mitchell wants to imprison him again.

Trevante volunteers to go to the mother ship with Caspar. But Benya refuses his offer and sends him back to his cell.

Monty tells Jamila that Caspar's drawing of her shows that Casper and Jamila are meant to be separated now.

Luke listens to Movement members argue about whether to go back to look for Aneesha and Sarah.

Mitchell seeks Luke to find out how the shard works but Aneesha refuses to help him.

Everyone from the Movement are leaving Idabel other than Clark and Ryder.

Soldiers surround the Movement's hideout and Luke charges out the front door.

Luke shows how he can control an alien and Clark suggests the two sides work together against the hunter-killers.

The aliens have arrived to protect the nearby portal.

Luke feels the aliens are heading to town.

Caspar and Mitsuki prepare to return to the mother ship.

One of the special children warns Luke that the aliens have arrived.

The battle begins as the soldiers, then Trevante, enter the fight.

Luke, aided by the special children, take down the first wave of aliens. Then he collapses.

Maya uses their memories together to keep Mitsuki stable as she searches for the portal.

Clark saves Luke as Mitsuki forces the portal to open.

Jamila says goodbye to Caspar. She gives him his drawing of her, which he drops when he goes under.

Three space-suited soldiers enter the portal but are spit out as Mitsuki loses control.

Mitsuki tells Maya she has to let her go if she's to keep control.

Mitsuki becomes the alien consciousness and regains control of the portal.

Trevante suits up and Mitchell gives him the shard then he walks into the portal.

Mitsuki prays and then collapses.

Trevante arrives at the mother ship and reunites with Caspar.

Our review of Invasion Season 2 Episode 9 reveals how the various groups opposing the aliens begin to join forces in hopes of better understanding the invaders.

The post Invasion Season 2 Episode 9 Review: Breakthrough appeared first on TV Fanatic.

]]>
Finally, after nearly two seasons apart, the resistance forces are starting to come together.

Still, the title of Invasion Season 2 Episode 9 was a bit of an exaggeration.

The Earth forces know more about the aliens now. But how do they translate that hard-earned knowledge into victory?

Making Connections - Invasion Season 2 Episode 9
(Apple TV+)

It made sense that humanity's biggest two weapons finally united to make a crucial discovery.

Determined to make amends for the death of her lover, Hinata, Mitsuki has risked her life repeatedly to learn more about the aliens who took Hinata from her.

Finding Mitsuki - Invasion Season 2 Episode 9
(Apple TV+)

Even though Nikhil was happy to take the WDC kudos, Mitsuki deserves credit for the handful of human wins in this war against the invaders.

That being said, her blowing up the alien entity/portal with which she had been melding probably wasn't the best of choices, even though she did stop the seismic events caused by the aliens on Invasion Season 2 Episode 8.

This left Mitsuki feeling the need to do additional penance, refusing to rest as she tried to figure out the connection among the aliens.

WDC officials refused to allow her to see data on other alien portals, but that was mostly to force her to rest.

Saying Goodbye - Invasion
(Apple TV+)

Mitsuki has never been one to do what's best for herself. So, instead of resting, she followed the voice of Hinata out into the Amazon.

You just knew all that shiny, sparkly foliage would lead Mitsuki somewhere important.

Also, even though she had no idea who Caspar was, Mitsuki knew "the boy" was vital and that she had to locate him.

Caspar had his issues with which to deal. First and foremost, there was disagreement among his little team.

Breaking Away - Invasion Season 2 Episode 9
(Apple TV+ (screenshot))

Monty was being rude toward Caspar for the best reasons: He wanted to protect Jamila from herself since she couldn't seem to think straight about Caspar.

An example would be her volunteering to be Caspar's anchor in the real world the next time he went coma diving. Not that she's shown any particular ability in the psychic world.

Caspar eventually lashed out at Monty because he had enough on his plate without Monty's snark.

While much of what he said was true, they agreed to a truce since what was most important was keeping Jamila safe.

Children's Protector - Invasion Season 2 Episode 9
(Apple TV+ (screenshot))

Caspar did the hard thing, getting Jamila to back off. Even though Jamila couldn't admit it to herself, Caspar wasn't the same boy she had crossed the Channel to rescue. He was someone else who even scared her a little.

Caspar's fellow gifted children still have some role to play in this battle. Who was it with whom they had connected? There's no sign it had been Mitsuki, so who else exhibited psychic abilities? Luke maybe?

However unlikely, Mitsuki found the golden cable, which she followed to the creepy alien mothership.

That's where she finally met Caspar since that was where he hung out whenever he was comatose.

Determined Mother - Invasion Season 2 Episode 9
(Apple TV+ (screenshot))

So they met and determined where they were. Then their consciousnesses popped back into their bodies.

Now, what can they do with this intel? So far, they are the only ones who can reach the mothership, and two isn't much of an invasion force.

The other characters were involved in a more traditional battle, with a small guerrilla force trying to distract a more significant, better-armed troop.

The Movement had a solid plan. They had some of their number at the front gate while the rest made noise around the perimeter, causing chaos in the ranks.

Guinea Pig - Invasion Season 2 Episode 9
(Apple TV+ (screenshot))

Most of them raced through the cornfield, setting off grenades and firing guns in the air, making their numbers seem much more significant than they were and pulling more and more soldiers off the base.

That left Aneesha and Clark to capture a keycard and make their way into the bowels of the base, looking for Sarah.

And, surprise, surprise! Who did they run across but Trevante and Rose, locked up in holding cells? Who knows why it took Aneesha so long to figure out they were on her side?

It certainly didn't hurt them to have a sniper in their ranks, one authentic soldier against a base full of them.

Creeping Through the Corn - Invasion Season 2 Episode 7
(Apple TV+)

Aneesa learned from Trevante, shooting out the lights, scooping Sarah, and running up the stairs … right into a dozen soldiers returning from the cornfield. So close!

Around this time, Trevante and Rose burst into the room housing the local residents being experimented on, including Rose's estranged husband Billy, who looks worse for wear.

What's next? Those people don't appear to be in any shape for a mass escape.

And what happened to Clark, who was last seen with those two?

Preparing for Battle - Invasion Season 2 Episode 9
(Apple TV+)

Also missing in action was Luke,, who was supposed to be hanging back with Ryder.

Wouldn't the only person connected to the aliens be helpful in such an attack?

It was sweet that Clark and Aneesha each agreed to care for the other's children should anything happen.

Also, when will the military realize that these "civilians" might have good ideas for the war against the aliens? There's no sense fighting each other instead.

Helpful Ally - Invasion Season 2 Episode 9
(Apple TV+ (screenshot))

How is knowing how to get to the mothership helpful?

Did Caspar do the right thing by stepping aside?

Why can't Aneesha catch a break?

The WDC's theory is that, like the alien ships, the aliens can cloak themselves. Which means they could be anywhere.

President Benya wants to speak to Mitsuki but Maya tells her Mitsuki is unavailable.

A frantic Mitsuki refuses to rest as she searches for answers.

She keeps hearing Hinata's voice saying, "Follow me."

Mitsuki determines Casper is the key and she has to find him.

While in a coma, Casper saw a bright light and the aliens attacked him to protect it.

Casper wants to be put into another coma but Esmee refuses until she consults with the WDC.

The Movement troops are camping at a natural-history museum.

Aneesha and Clark promise to look out for each other's children should anything happen to them.

Sarah is being tested by the military.

Sarah tells a scientist that Luke can talk to the shard.

Jamila wants to go under with Casper to serve as an anchor for him.

After Casper and Monty argue about Jamila, Penny runs in to tell them that the WDC has approved Casper going under again.

A corporal held at gunpoint ties to sneak Movement members into Project Idabel.

The base comes under attack and they get waved in.

Luke feels the shard and says Sarah is likely there as well.

The Movement force empty the base by distracting the soldiers into the cornfield.

Clark and Aneesha steal a keycard and head for the lab where they expect Sarah to be held.

They stumble onto Trevante and Rose. He convinces Aneesha to free them so they can help in the search.

The four of them are spotted and a firefight ensues.

Trevante convinces Aneesha to give him her gun.

He, Rose, and Clark provide cover fire while Aneesha runs to find Sarah.

Aneesha shoots out the lights, grabs Sarah, and runs up some stairs.

But she runs straight into troops and is outnumbered.

Trevante and Rose find the local residents the military is experimenting on, including Billy.

Caspar convinces Jamila to let him go alone.

Maya can't find Mitsuki who has headed out into the Amazon.

Mitsuki locates a cable and grabs on to connect with the alien's hive mind. She follows the light to the mothership.

She finds Caspar there.

After they figure out they're on the mothership, they both return to their bodies.

Our review of Invasion Season 2 Episode 8 reveals how humanity's options against the alien invaders continue to dwindle as they push for solutions.

The post Invasion Season 2 Episode 8 Review: Cosmic Ocean appeared first on TV Fanatic.

]]>
Sadly, humanity continued to make little progress against its alien invaders.

Pressing for answers only made things worse on Invasion Season 2 Episode 8.

Let's begin with Nikhil's Amazon Project, the only government-sanctioned effort to discover something, anything that will work against the aliens.

Strategy Session - Invasion Season 2 Episode 8
(Apple TV+)

Mitsuki, Earth's best bet to come up with a solution, was flat-out wearing down. Too much connection with the alien entity and too little sleep as she tried to unravel the alien language left her far less than 100 percent.

It's a good thing Mitsuki has Maya on her side. Maya wouidn't send her back into the lion's den before she had recovered more.

Rattled Mitsuki - Invasion Season 2 Episode 8
(Apple TV+)

Mitsuki wasn't herself these days. Thanks to long days attempting to crack the alien language and too much time spent with the alien entity, she was unsure if the voices she hears are authentic or come from her imagination.

Maya had a whole ward full of scientists who tried too hard to communicate with the entity. She didn't want to add Mitsuki, who she knew was somewhat foggy, to that number. Plus, maybe she had feelings for her current patient.

On the other side was Nikhil, who doesn't care how many scientists he sacrifices as long as the project produces some better way to combat the aliens.

Nikhil should receive some slack because of how hard the World Defense Council pushes him.

Driven Man - Invasion Season 2 Episode 8
(Apple TV+ (screenshot))

But he's also a tech wunderkind who chases praise for being the person who discovered how to defeat the aliens. A big chunk of his drive comes from hubris.

Much of Maya's role was protecting the project staff from psychological damage caused by the aliens. So, as she saw it, she was just doing her job.

On the other hand, Nikhil saw her as being obstructional. So he decided to go around her and play head games with the psychologically fragile Mitsuki, whom he needed to interact more with the entity.

Nikhil had a valid point when Mitsuki insisted on continuing to study the alien language. Intercepting the aliens' military communication may be helpful, but only with some context as to how they think.

Protecting Mitsuki - Invasion Season 2 Episode 8
(Apple TV+ (screenshot))

Maya overplayed her hand by threatening to resign. Her only way to protect Mitsuki was to sabotage her suits on the way out the door.

Nikhil's ego led him to wrongly believe he could handle the entity alone. Subsequent events proved otherwise.

Even worse, his actions caused seismic events around the globe, leaving a suitless Mitsuki to have to clean up his mess.

The excellent news is that Nikhil likely won't impede research now. The bad news is that Mitsuki determined that she blew up a portal to the alien world, for what that's worth.

Suited Up - Invasion Season 2 Episode 8
(Apple TV+)

The other promising weapon has been Casper Morrow, thanks to his connection with the aliens and the special children with similar ties.

Casper has been the one who Jamila has staked all her hopes on this season. That's why she led this children's crusade to find and rescue Casper from whatever governmental or military entity held him.

However, since they found Casper on Invasion Season 2 Episode 6, he just hasn't been himself, although there was disagreement among the group on that point.

Jamila saw the boy for whom she's fallen. Monty was naturally suspicious of his rival for Jamila's affections. But even Casper's best friend Alfie wasn't sure about him.

Casper's Connection - Invasion Season 2 Episode 8
(Apple TV+)

So, the question comes down to whether Casper is free of the aliens.

This answer takes on added importance after Casper used his connection with the other special children who had been at the hospital with him to find their hideout.

If Casper was a sleeper agent for the aliens, he had shown them the hiding place for children, who might be humanity's best chance against them.

Even Jamila started to doubt Casper, who seemed off even to her. Is Casper an amnesiac, or is he something more dangerous?

Bewildered Jamila - Invasion Season 2 Episode 4
(Apple TV+)

When we last saw Trevante, he was climbing down into a massive pit in the middle of Camp Pierce, the top-secret military base hidden in a cornfield.

He found a big old hatch at the bottom of the pit and thought it would be a good idea to crack it open. Needless to say, that set off a base-wide alarm.

Trevante has to work on his infiltration skills. That's twice he's been captured by the military since his arrival in Oklahoma. If he can't hide at Camp Pierce, how is he ever going to sneak up on the aliens?

He did discover that at least some of the missing townfolk were being held there. He even got that general to admit the aliens had held them.

Trevante in Cuffs - Invasion Season 2 Episode 8
(Apple TV+)

He offered his services to General Mitchell, who rejected him. Those military types won't improvise, which is helping them lose this war.

Rose was doing her best to rescue her reckless partner. First, she locked up her old school chum Wade, then explained to him what was happening and her plans. She was going to rescue Trevante and her abducted neighbors.

Then, she promptly got caught amid that seismic chaos set off by Nikhil.

I wonder if she ended up in the same cell as Trevante.

Out in Her Field - Invasion Season 2 Episode 8

Will Mitsuki bounce back from her misstep with the entity?

What's going on with Casper?

What's hidden under that hatch?

Mitsuki keeps hearing Maya's warnings in her head.

She's afraid it's the alien entity messing with her.

But Maya is really there, urging her to get some rest.

Mitsuki can't comprehend the alien language using the frequencies they have collected.

Maya is keeping a close eye on Mitsuki to keep her from slipping into catatonia like the other scientists.

Mitsuki realizes that the affected scientists are already communicating in the alien language.

Trevante climbs down into the pit at Camp Pierce.

He finds and attempts to open a hatch, setting off an alarm.

Hiding in a nearby cornfield, Rose sees he's been captured.

Casper has followed the voices in his brain to the compound where the gifted children are being held.

He and Monty dance around their feelings about Jamila, who surprises them while they're talking about her.

She's figured out a way to infilrate the compound.

Nikhil decides to go around Maya to manipulate Mitsuki back in the enclosure with the entity.

Trevante locates some of the missing people being used in an experiment at the base.

He unsuccessfully attempts to get General Mitchell to use him in his unit.

Casper locates a passageway to the other children.

Nikhil calls Maya's bluff and accepts her resignation.

Maya says goodbye to Mitsuki but can't dissuade her from going back in.

The classmates debate whether Casper is still himself.

Penny suggests the children draw a map of the place the aliens had taken them in their dreams.

Monty is concerned that Casper may still be connected to the aliens.

A girl tells Jamila the special children weren't trying to reach Casper but instead another person.

Maya disabled all of Mitsuki's suits to keep her from going back into the enclosure. She left Nikhil's suit intact so he could choose to take that risk.

Rose locks up Deputy Wade then goes over how important the notebook in the evidence locker is. She's going to rescue Trevante and the missing townfolk.

Mitsuki realizes she can't identify photos on her phone.

Nikhil goes into the enclosure alone. His actions cause seismic reactions around the globe.

The entity absorbs Nikhil then spits him out again.

Unlike the other special children, Casper is unaffected by these vibrations.

Without her suit, Mitsuki goes in to confront the entity, appealing to Hinata.

She immerses herself inside it then turns up the electromagnet.

She falls unconscious but the seismic activity ceases.

Jamila asks Casper if he's with them or still with the aliens.

Mitsuki determines the entity was a portal into the alien world and she destroyed it.

Our review of Invasion Season 2 Episode 7 reveals how the various characters combatting the aliens are ever so slowly beginning to come together.

The post Invasion Season 2 Episode 7 Review: Down the Rabbit Hole appeared first on TV Fanatic.

The resistance is coming together, if ever so slowly.

The question that never honestly got answered in Invasion Season 2 Episode 7 is: who is the enemy, the military or the aliens?

The smart money would still have to go on the transformed aliens, now flat-out killing machines.

Reunited Friends - Invasion Season 2 Episode 7
(Apple TV+)

But, after an initial round of unity after the aliens invaded, humanity has splintered again. But instead of having hundreds of nation-states, it's broken down into the military and civilians.

Unfortunately, while the civilians are developing good ideas about conquering the aliens, the military has the guns and a rigid mindset regarding civilians.

Creeping Through the Corn - Invasion Season 2 Episode 7
(Apple TV+)

You would think that Trevante Cole, of all people, would understand that, being former military and all.

But Trevante is a civilian on a mission now. Fate has thrown him together with Rose, who may be even more obsessed with the aliens than him, if that's possible.

Rose had taken up Trevante's habit of attempting to make sense of Casper's alien-inspired drawings to the point that Trevante was concerned about her "intensity."

But Rose was onto something when she created that map of essentially abduction points. She just needed Trevante to give her the necessary perspective.

Illegally on Base - Invasion Season 2 Episode 7
(Apple TV+)

The clues they found in Casper's drawings, a license plate number and a spiral, pointed to Ben Shelton's farm as necessary. How exactly was yet to be determined, so they were off to the farm.

You would have to wonder how impenetrable this base was since they could sneak in with little trouble.

Of course, they got discovered before they learned much of anything. But Trevante used his solid military training to make his escape.

We finally learn who the Billy Rose has been searching for is in a tender moment between her and Trevante.

Angry Mother - Invasion Season 2 Episode 7
(Apple TV+)

It only makes sense that Trevante and Rose would become attracted to each other. They're both coming out of broken relationships, so that a rebound romance would be likely, even amid an alien invasion. You could see it coming.

You can also see Aneesha and Clark becoming an item. But children are involved, so that isn't simple or neat.

Complicating things further is that their kids are friendly with each other. Scratch that. Luke is infatuated with Ryder, although that doesn't appear reciprocated.

Clark has been in Aneesha's corner since they met, even though any of his Movement allies would like to send her and her family packing.

Looking for Sarah - Invasion Season 2 Episode 7
(Apple TV+)

Things have only gotten worse as aliens killed off two-thirds of their number en route to the rescue mission for Sarah. Then there's the whole Luke-connected-with-the-aliens thing.

Somehow, Aneesha won over the doubters with her "Here's what I learned when I was a doctor" speech.

That was a clever plan to suck in the few soldiers left on Camp Pierce around crazy driver Aneesha. There is no way a dozen civilians should have been able to take over even though that base is about to be shut down.

That should have been a clue that nothing of value remained there, even before Tiger Mother Aneesha came out to threaten that overly dedicated corporal.

Addled Casper - Invasion Season 2 Episode 7
(Apple TV+)

So now Trevante and Sarah are both at Project Idabel, with the rest of the Movement troops (such as they are) on the way there. Yay! A teamup among characters is finally on the horizon. It's about time!

Since the English classmates are still on the continent, they won't join the fun anytime soon. Frankly, they aren't ready to take on the military anyway.

All that work to locate Casper Morrow only to find out he's not his usual nerdy self. His not being able to access all his short-term memories is to be expected after all time being comatose.

Monty did bring up some salient, disturbing points. Why were Casper and all these exceptional children locked up in that special ward? Were they dangerous, and if so, to whom?

Odd Man Odd - Invasion Season 2 Episode 7
(Apple TV+)

Casper was correct that they needed to hook up with those children since they were likely being developed as weapons to fight the aliens.

But it was disheartening that Casper had lost his connection with the aliens. As the encounter on the roof proved, they need all the warnings they can get while working through the alien-infested territory.

There's a tricky romance triangle forming around Jamila.

No matter how she tries to couch it, part of her search for Casper centers around her feelings for him. It isn't just to save the world.

Caught in the Middle - Invasion Season 2 Episode 7
(Apple TV+)

For an intelligent girl, Jamila was slow to pick up on Monty's feelings for her. She finally realized what happened during his impassioned speech about trusting her dreams.

It was sweet how she attempted to nudge Casper's memories, using his drawing of her and playing their song on the ancient Walkman.

Of course, the long-anticipated kiss between Casper and Jamila happened after he recalled their time together on that school bus ride.

However, that kiss was witnessed by Monty. He's been reformed on this mission. But what happens when he becomes the third wheel? And how will that impact Penny, who needs her supportive big brother?

Disappointing and Downright Offensive Character Departures

What did Trevante and Rose stumble onto?

Is this Project Idabel headquarters for the military's counterattack against the aliens?

Will Casper be back to his old self after regaining his memories?

On Invasion Season 2 Episode 7, Casper, Jamila, and company continue on their mission while Trevante and Rose follow a clue to Ben Shelton's farm.

Trevante awakens to find Rose pouring over Casper's notebook.

She is seeking other local landmarks connected to the abductees among Casper's drawings.

Rose locates the license plate number of Ben Shelton's truck. Five people connected to Shelton have gone missing.

Trevante employs a spiral like in Casper's drawing on Rose's map of the missing and Shelton's farm is in the center of it.

They head to the farm, which the military took over as a supply depot.

The pair infiltrates the base, which has a large pit at its center.

They're spotted before they can learn what's in the pit and they run.

Rose drops their research and Travante has to overcome a soldier after he stops to retrieve it.

Casper, Jamila, and their friends inspect the special ward where he had been housed although he remembers nothing about it.

They find a drawing by Casper of the other special chldren there. But he doesn't remember them.

.Penny locates reports about these special patients.

Monty pieces together that the military was studying these exceptional children to be used as weapons.

Casper realizes that these children have been in contact with him even when he was comatose.

Despite dissension from Monty, they decide to track down these kids.

The reduced Movement party makes it to Camp Pierce, but there's disagreement about the rescue mission.

Aneesha appeals to the others for their help and they come around.

Trevante finds a drawing of the pit in Casper's notebook.

Monty worries that there's nothing left of Casper.

Trevante and Rose hide out at the home of Marlene, Rose's estranged sister-in-law.

Rose finally admits the missing Billy is her estranged husband.

He tells her about losing his son.

Casper's connection to the aliens appears shaky.

They escape off a roof by shinnying down a drainpipe while the aliens attack a dummy made up of Penny's raincoat and an umbrella.

Luke distracts the guards at Camp Pierce so the others can get the drop on them.

Aneesha drives into camp and all the soldiers converge on her, allowing the others to surround them.

Rose and Trevante attract crows to block the road to the army base, allowing Trevante to stow away on a truck.

Jamila attempts to help Casper remember, first with his drawing of her then with his old Walkman.

He recalls the old Green Day song they listened to together on the bus.

Then they kiss, the last thing that Monty wants to see.

Aneesha finds "Help me" written in Farsi in the room where Sarah had been held.

She threatens to use Propofol on a corporal to discover what happened to Sarah.

Before she can do so, another member finds records that show Sarah was shipped to Project Idabel in Oklahoma the previous night.

The corporal says that Project Idabel is the inpenetrable Ground Zero.

Trevante, who has snuck into Project Idabel, sees Sarah and the shard being unloaded there.

That night, Trevante knocks out a soldier and climbs down into the pit.

Our review of Invasion Season 2 Episode 6 reveals that the mental connection to the aliens by a handful of characters may prove a turning point in the war.

The post Invasion Season 2 Episode 6 Review: Pressure Points appeared first on TV Fanatic.

]]>
This has to be a breakthrough, right?

Several vital characters found ways to communicate with the invading aliens on Invasion Season 2 Episode 6.

So maybe soon we might get answers as to why the aliens are on Earth and what they want.

Under Attack - Invasion Season 2 Episode 6
(Apple TV+)

If humanity's leaders can get those answers, maybe, just maybe, they could act rather than react as they have so far. They can go on offense rather than continuing to play defense.

Man, it's taken a long time to get to this point. It's been a season and a half, and we still know little about the aliens.

Making Contact - Invasion Season 2 Episode 6
(Apple TV+)

They have to have more going on than just being mindless attacking machines, don't they?

Communication is going to be critical if humans are to survive. And at the forefront has been Mitsuki Yamato.

That's understandable, as she both feels guilty about and wants revenge on the aliens for the death of her lover, Hinata.

The alien entity hasn't allowed Hinata to rest in peace, using her memories to throw Mitsuki off-balance. But unlike the other scientists who have had their minds affected by their encounters with the entity, she has avoided such a trap.

Keeping Mitsuki Safe - Invasion Season 2 Episode 5
(Apple TV+)

That doesn't mean Mitsuki is above making suicidal moves. She allowed herself to be immersed in the entity on Invasion Season 2 Episode 5 in her search for answers.

She went even further in this episode, taking off her helmet in order to get in closer touch with the alien.

Fortunately, Mitsuki has Maya there to protect Mitsuki from herself. It's a good thing, too, since Nikhil appears more than willing to sacrifice her like all the unsuccessful researchers who came before her.

This makes little sense since Mitsuki has been the only one able to get in touch with the entity. If her mind gets fried, Nikhil's project returns to square one.

Research Mastermind - Invasion Season 2 Episode 5
(Apple TV+)

Mitsuki's gamble paid off this time, as she could sign a message in Morse code as she got close to being entranced by the entity in Hinata's childlike form.

One of the brainiacs she works with picked up on that, and Maya flicked on the electromagnet, freeing Mitsuki.

A side benefit is that they were able to capture a sample of the aliens' language, bringing them closer to communicating with the invaders. It's hard to talk truce if you're speaking different languages.

This is the only concrete example of hard work leading to a breakthrough in the war against the aliens. Any other progress would qualify as dumb luck.

Troubled Luke - Invasion Season 2 Episode 6
(Apple TV+)

Take, for example, what's going on with Luke Malik.

It's been evident to everyone, except, of course, those around Luke, that he has some mental connection to the aliens.

Luke hears voices every time aliens are near. It hasn't been established if that's a good or bad thing. But doesn't some advanced warning have to be a positive?

You would think his mother, Aneesha, the occasional doctor, might have looked further into this condition. But no. She just blew it off as a freaky one-time occurrence.

Concerned Mother - Invasion Season 2 Episode 6
(Apple TV+)

The alien ambush of the Movement rescue mission had to be one of those "wrong place at the wrong time" situations. It only makes sense that the aliens would set a trap on the road to the army base Camp Pierce.

Naturally, as the convoy crept through the fog, you knew nothing good was coming.

It's hard not to feel bad for Clark, the nice guy who has stood in Aneesha's corner. It figures he would be the one who got injured in that crash.

What wasn't clear was how many of Aneesha's detractors in the Movement got picked off by the creatures. That could have a bearing on what happens with the rescue of Sarah.

Beleaguered Clark - Invasion Season 2 Episode 6
(Apple TV+)

Aneesha deserves credit for returning to the woods to search for the missing Lucy. But she couldn't let another mother lose her daughter.

Also, that set up Luke's immobilization of that alien. The downside is that everyone saw him use his ability, whatever it was. So his secret is out now, for better or worse.

Finally, Jamila and her crew found another youth connected to the aliens: Casper Morrow.

Jamila has gone out on a real limb here, leaving behind her family and betting the bank on Casper's ability that she's seen him use once for a brief period.

Belief in Her Mission - Invasion Season 2 Episode 6
(Apple TV+)

But Casper represents hope to Jamila, as he's the only one she has seen who has put up much of a defense against the invaders.

Things looked pretty bleak in Paris. That wall of the missing drove home to the quartet how many were suffering because of the invasion, to the point where they left their names just in case.

It was good to see Jamila, who has been so strong in the face of adversity, falter when faced with the destruction and the possibility that Casper was gone.

Despite his personal setback, Monty came to her rescue, being there for her when she was at her lowest. But now Casper has been found, what role will there be in Jamila's life for the infatuated Monty?

Shocking Discovery - Invasion Season 2 Episode 6
(Apple TV+)

How will Mitsuki's discovery help the war effort?

What will Luke's ability mean?

With Casper's mind foggy, can his abilities be useful?

On Invasion Season 2 Episode 6, Jamila and Aneesha encounter unpleasant surprises during their respective rescue missions of Casper and Sarah.

The post Invasion Season 2 Episode 6 Recap: Pressure Points appeared first on TV Fanatic.

]]>
The Movement rescue mission convoy creeps through the fog.

Luke is hearing voices again.

Luke explains the alien shard to Ryder.

The voices warn Luke of an alien trap.

They lose a couple of trucks in the attack but seem to be escaping.

Then Clark comes upon an overturned truck blocking the road. In trying to avoid it, he rolls his vehicle.

Jamila and her party arrives in Paris as evacuation sirens sound.

They come upon a wall of photos of missing people.

Alfie convinces everyone to leave notes on the wall for any loved ones that might follow.

They decide to rest up at the home of Monty and Penny's parents.

Monty brings up the unpleasant possibility of Casper not even being at the hospital.

Recounting her time immersed inside the alien entity for Nikhil and Maya, Mitsuki recalls seeing a boy (Casper).

Mitsuki's hand is shaking but she wants to go back inside the entity.

Maya argues against the idea but Nikhil overrules her.

At the Movement crash site, Clark has a serious cut on his leg and Aneesha uses Luke's belt as a torniquet.

No one can understand the voices Luke is hearing.

Maya insists Mitsuki tell her all about her relationship with Hinata, which she feels the entity is using to control Mitsuki. But Mitsuki storms off.

The Movement survivors find Clark's party. They agree to hike out before dark

Jamila reaches out to Casper in her dreams but can't connect with him.

Monty has determined his father kept his mistress in Paris.

Still, he bucks up Jamila who is having doubts about their mission after her dream.

Mitsuki reenters the chamber with the alien.

The entity again adopts Hinata's voice.

It encourages her to take off her helmet and she complies.

It invades her mind, taking her to a beach where Hinata played as a child.

Tomas figures out Mitsuki's tremors are actually Morse code, spelling out "magnet."

Maya activates the electromagnet, which pains the entity and causes Mitsuki to pass out.

Jamila and her party arrive at and search the trashed hospital for Casper.

Jamila finds Casper's abandoned headset and gives up hope.

She apologizes for dragging the others along on what she now sees as a fool's errand.

The voices warn Luke of looming danger.

They've come upon a group of hibernating aliens and have to run away but are getting picked off one by one.

They reach the Movement advanced contigent but Aneesha goes back in search of the missing Lucy.

An alien cuts off Aneesha and Lucy as they return but Luke somehow stops it with his mind.

Luke is in its head and he buys time for everyone to escape.

When Mitsuki awakens, Maya plays the new frequencies from the entity caused by the electromagnet.

Mitsuki realizes it's the aliens' language, which she can now study and learn.

As they're leaving the hospital, Penny hears a noise, which turns out to be Casper, who is drawing on a wall.

Casper, who everyone is hoping can help them defeat the aliens, can't remember what's happened to him recently.
