While it was pretty much a lock to go to series, the third series in the Chicago franchise is officially a go.
Chicago Med was officially picked up, along with two other dramas, a second medical drama (more of a sudser) and an intriguing new thriller from Greg Berlanti.
Chicago Med comes to us prepackaged, since we've already experienced the cast and the setting in action on the backdoor pilot during Chicago Fire Season 3 Episode 19, "I Am the Apocalypse." The series will star Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Laurie Holden, Nick Gehlfuss and Yaya Dacosta.
Blindspot come to the table by way of Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash). The series focuses on an unidentified Jane Doe (Jamie Aleander) found naked in Times Square, covered in intricate tattoos that are all indicative of individual crimes to solve. Only one is simple.
The name of FBI Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton). As the FBI investigates each crime, they're led closer to her identity and other mysteries on an international basis.
Heartbreaker stars Melissa George as Dr. Alex Panttiere, an outspoken world-renowned heart-transplant surgeon and one of the few women in her field.
She has a racy personal life, manages the daily demands of skeptical faculty and dutiful interns, and pushes the boundaries of medical science to impressive new heights. This unique character-driven drama is based on the real life and achievements of Dr. Kathy Magliato.
