The light-hearted drama – which starred Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer as goofy, albeit successful attorneys – debuted to 2.74 million viewers in 2011.

However, the total audience steadily dropped over the next few seasons, with the Franklin & Bash Season 4 finale bringing in under one million viewers on October 22.

As a whole, Season 4 averaged 1.2 million viewers, about one million fewer than Season 3.

The cancelation news comes on the heels of former Fox boss Kevin Reilly being hired by Turner to run both TNT and TBS.

Infeld Stanton believed he was going to die but he'd forgotten his cufflinks. Or was he really hoping the boys would find a way to detour his destiny? Either way, Stanton summoned Peter and Jared to Vegas on a mysterious mission to bring him his briefcase. Did he need the $150,000 in cash or the passports? No. He'd forgotten his cufflinks and he wanted to make sure he was buried in them. 

When Stanton explained that at nine-years-old he was given a reading by a fortune teller who swore he would be killed by a fish at age 66, I couldn't help but smile when Jared told him in this Franklin & Bash quote…

Jared: My ninth birthday all I got was the Milenium Falcon with the stowaway bay.

I'm totally jealous over that gift! 

But their night in Vegas took a turn when Dan helped them hit that jackpot at blackjack, and then got them arrested because he was counting cards. The ensuing court case was silly fun as they proved the casino targeted Dan whom has grown on me over the course of this season.

Back home, Damien and Anita were ready to jump into a personal relationship but given Damien's history of sleeping with other employees, they decided to clear things with HR first. And while they waited for the paperwork to process, they took on an intellectual property case. Can a sex toy really be considered intellectual property? Can a mold of man's penis actually be copyrighted? These are questions you will only hear argued on Franklin & Bash.

But by the end of their legal arguments, this almost couple was barely speaking to one another. Between Anita's temper and Damien's penchant for snark, I can't really see a future that doesn't end with the two of them hating one another. 

Then there's Jared and Swatello. As cute as Bonnie was last week, I love Jared and Swatello. While Jared was pondering whether or not she could be the one, Peter pointed out that she was about to be the one that got away. 

Their reconciliation at the end was a scene I'd been looking forward to all season. 

Jared: I want to make this work.

Swatello: So do I, but like adults.

Jared: Let’s not get crazy.

Now that Jared's made a commitment, I have no doubt he'll want to skip running of to Austin to work at The Chive, no matter how cool it sounds but Peter's still in party mode. 

With Stanton choking on a goldfish cracker and Peter waiting for red or black to determine his future, could this be the end of Franklin & Bash?

Dan opens the briefcase anyway. It has  $150,000 in cash, passports, a pipe, a flask and cufflinks. Once in Vegas, Infeld tells them he wanted the cufflinks. He wants to be buried in them and he expects to be dead in 48 hours.  

When Infeld was nine, a seer told him he would die in Vegas at age 66 by way of a fish. The boys think it's ridiculous. As a thank you for rushing down, Infeld gives a bunch of cash and tells them to live it up in Vegas. The boys hit it big at black jack. 

Everyone at the casino seems to know Dan. The boys are accused of cheating and their winnings are taken and they are arrested. The boys prove that the casino knew that Dan was a card counter and let him play anyway, lying in wait to arrest him and his friends. The charges are dropped.

Infeld believes he's going to die after eating a piece of puffer fish at dinner. He doesn't. Later, alone in his room, he begins to choke on a goldfish cracker.  

Damien and Anita head to HR before diving into a relationship. They later end up on opposite ends of a case the brings out the worst in them. Even though HR gives them the go ahead, they both seem to balk at moving forward in their personal relationship.

Swatello things that Jared is going to marry Bonnie in Vegas and rushes down to stop him. Embarassed to find out she was wrong, she plans to leave the city. Jared finds her and the two reconcile, deciding they want to give their relationship a real try.

Peter was terrified of ghosts while Jared was intrigued and Dan was simply weird. The Parkers claimed that they'd had multiple strange occurrences in the old home they'd hoped to renovate into a working hotel. The walls being painted strange colors while all the doors were locked. Strange noises and odd smells that eventually drove even their contractors away.

Unfortunately, we never got answers to any of these things.

When Dan and Jared entered the house and quickly ran out, there was a black figure that appeared to be watching them. The same one was later shown on the video at the end. Was it all meant as a Halloween prank? Simply there to creep out the audience? And if so, why not show this episode next week or the week after, much closer to Halloween?

It should have been an episode filled with creepy intrigue and fun but with so many unanswered questions I ended up being disappointed. When Irina showed up at the end to tell the story of a young girl dying in the hotel after an accident, it packed no punch at all. I loved the actress and her haunted demeanor but the story just didn't fill the void.

Kudos for having Ernie Hudson as the judge. He played Winston Zeddmore in Ghostbusters the movie. He's been on this show before but having him back for this episode was a nice touch. 

Bonnie's return was also a nice surprise. I enjoyed the chemistry between her and Jared and had hoped to see her again but as much as I enjoyed her, I have to agree with Peter. Bonnie isn't enough of a challenge for Jared. I think he'll grow bored with her rather quickly and hopefully find his way back to Swatello. 

Damien and Anita continued to bond as he escorted her to her moot court reunion. Once again, it was a cute concept but Anita and Cheryl's constant bickering soon became tiresome and Cheryl's turnaround where she suddenly forfeited moot court was hard to swallow. 

Overall, I was excited for this episode of Franklin & Bash but it just didn't deliver.

They call in the PIG people. Paranormal Investigation Group. A video from the house has strange sounds, leading Peter and Jared to check it out for themselves. Peter stays outside.

Bonnie, the boys former legal clerk is now opposing council on this case. She and Jared flirt. Later she asked him out and Jared says yes. Peter gives them a week as a couple. 

The boys convince the judge to allow the jury to see the hotel. While there, they meet 97 year old woman who sold the hotel to Freddie Silmas. She tells the story of how her childhood friend died in the house in 1927. Silmas agrees to pay back the purchase price of the hotel as well as fees and damages.

Damien escorts Anita to her Moot Court reunion where she spars with her rival Cheryl Cox. The two agree to have moot court once again to settle their differences but Cheryl forfeits in order to save their friendship. Later Damien tells Anita she was going to lose the verdict otherwise but a video of her telling off Cheryl wins her Chive's hottest attorney award.

Well, I guess that really isn't all that surprising. But as they fought the system that said 36 year old Danny couldn't remain in the age restricted complex that he called home after his grandmother died, it became clear that age had little to do with maturity or lifestyle. 

Danny's pal Falcon was in his 70s but was attempting cannonballs off of rooftops and setting his chest hairs on fire. The man needed to find a frat house, not a senior citizen community. The adoption application was just the type of silliness that we've come to expect on Franklin & Bash.

But one of the better arguments of the episode was whether Peter or Jared was the other's sidekick.  Even the Judge seemed to get in on it in this Franklin & Bash quote…

Which one was the dog was never actually determined but it begs the question…is there a Batman and a Robin in this dynamic duo? I say no. If ever there were true partners it is Franklin & Bash. 

Speaking of partners, Karp and Anita did better than I expected. He didn't hit on her once and he actually let her argue her case in court. Surprisingly, Karp let Anita spread her wings a bit where Peter and Jared have been holding her back. 

Plus, she challenged Damien to truly fight for his client and he took the bait. These two might make an interesting duo all their own…and who doesn't like a girl who's a Game of Thrones fan. 

Swatello and Jared were still on the outs although they were obviously quite miserable without the other, despite how they try to hide it. 

Swatello: It’s not like I’m at home pining away for you, collecting your hair to turn into some teeny, tiny voodoo doll.

Someone might want to check her home or her desk drawer for that doll. I wouldn't be surprised. Swatello definitely needs a girlfriend to confide in and at this point I don't see anyone other than Anita available to take on the job. 

Back home at the beach house in Malibu, Peter was chiding Jared about his love life. Do you think Jared and Swatello will get back together? Should they and if so, how soon?

The facility then tries to kick out Falcon because he tested possible for amphetamines. Peter and Jared prove Falcon and 20 other residents have false positives because of their prescription medication. The director threatens to evict all of them until the board stands up to him and out votes him.

Karp and Anita take on an airline's Act of God policy which covers a canceled flight for mechanical reasons and ruined a professor's chances for an award. Anita pushes Karp to fight for they client when he almost takes a low-ball deal. They learn that an Act of God is actually determined by the airline's risk assessment supervisor, Ted Davis, making it an Act of Ted.

Swatello struggles to find her place at the firm and is upset over her breakup with Jared. She and Anita go out for drinks.

I know Jared and Colleen were kissing at the end of last week's episode but I didn't really expect to see them do the deed…well, not they we actually saw them do it, but we got the picture of the morning after pretty clearly. 

Jared was mortified. This was bad. Really bad, because you just don't sleep with your best friend's mother. You joke about it but you never actually do it. 

Infeld giving Jared advice was one of my favorite scenes. You'd think that Stanton would be cool with something like this considering they just went to court and proved that he'd slept with over 600 people. But no, not only does he advise Jared to tell Peter the truth, he threatens to out him if he doesn't. 

The fire drill and emergency evacuation were perfect. No one can say that Infeld isn't quick on his feet. And Jared trying to walk out with everyone else was comical but when Peter called him out, he panicked in this Franklin & Bash quote…

Jared: OK, do I have a sign that says I banged Peter’s mom on my forehead? Let me rephrase that before you punch a hole through my face.

I'd say he could have phrased that first statement a little more tactfully. To Jared's surprise, and dismay, Peter acted like he was okay with everything as long as he thought Jared really cared about his mom. I'll admit that I never truly bought it but Peter did an amazing job messing with his friend. It was far worse than just punching Jared and getting it over with. 

Even funnier was Damien overhearing the entire conversation and calling it his welcome back gift. He's going to use this against Jared every chance he gets and it just makes me all the happier to see Damien back at the firm. 

It was a relief when Peter finally went off on Jared in court but I don't even think Peter was as upset as Jared was with himself…

Jared: The fact that I took our friendship and just crashed it into a pole kills me. It makes me want to do a swan dive into a woodchopper.

All of this sort of overshadowed Pindar's return. Somehow watching Pindar and Dan bond turned out to be the first time I felt a connection to Dan as a new character. He hadn't made a big impression on me thus far but I really enjoyed his interaction with Pindy.

As great as it was to have Pindar back, it was sad to see him go. At least he gets a hot, European bride-to-be as a parting gift. 

The diner case was just a backdrop for everything else that went on in this episode but if they actually took their fee in buffalo wings, I hope the diner has good ones.

Pindar returns and says he's getting married to a girl named Bridget who he's been sexting with. Peter and Jared believe it's a scam and put Dan on the case. It turns out that Bridget is real and Pindar is leaving for good.

Damien returns to the firm and hears about Jared sleeping with Peter's mom and plans to hold it over Jared's head forever.

The Diner that the boys love is going to be torn down when Erkert Smith tries to take it over from the owners. Eventually Peter and Jared agree to take the case and have their fee paid in buffalo wings. They manage to prove that the boxcar is an historical landmark and therefore can not be torn down.
