They spice things up, add drama, and break a few hearts. Here is a list of 23 TV Bad Boys who we love anyway!

In Taylor Swift's now-ubiquitous hit single, "Blank Space," the unlucky-in-love singer boasts that she "can make the bad guys good for a weekend."

Sounds like a solid idea, but also an unnecessary one:

Who doesn't love a good ol' bad boy sometimes?!?

Whether you love to hate them, or hate to love them, bad boys bring so much flavor to the stories we see on television. Here are 23 cases in point!

These bad boys we love cross many genres, ages, time periods, and backgrounds. Maybe it's a brooding vampire. Maybe it's a blood sucker with daddy issues.

Or maybe it's a football player who is such a mess that he shows up drunk to practice, but at the same time would anything for his family or the girl he loves.

The business of loving bad boys started long before this season. Heck, it's been going on long before the Internet, and basically since the inception TV itself.

There were some major trouble-making heartthrobs on the small screen in the late '80s and early '90s, several of which are represented in the gallery above.

So click around to ogle 23 of our favorite heart-pounding, troublesome bad boys and let us know who are your favorites, and who we may have missed!

Just try not to drool on your phone or computer.

With the number of shows on television, it makes sense we lose more than we gain, right?

Some of the shows that have been canceled stick with us. Their loss causes us pain. We miss them. We hope for reunion movies and to find other people who might share our feelings.

The most recent case in point: Witches of East End, whose axing after two seasons had the Internet buzzing and complaining last week.

Below, we've assembled a list of programs that can still bring a tear to the eye at the thought we'll never see the characters we fell in love with and the stories they shared ever again.

Coach Returning to TV; Craig T. Nelson to Reprise Title Role

Whether it was one season and done or 72 years long, when a series disappears, it takes characters who have come to life with it and it proves one sad fact about television:

There aren't always Happy Endings.

We've shown you ours, now you show us yours! Hit the comments with some of canceled series that left you scarred, bitter and maybe a touch weepy.

Did they really just do that? The promos forewarned that a member of the Ewing family would die in Dallas Season 3 Episode 15 but Christopher Ewing was never a name that made my list. I really thought Ann would die but that wouldn't have been nearly as dramatic as watching Christopher's car blow up with what I can only assume was him inside.

I say "assume" because we only saw him enter the car from behind. We never saw his face but it certainly looked like him and with all the hype about a Ewing death I can only believe that it's true.

As a long time viewer of the original series I find the thought of Christopher's death heart wrenching. Even though he has never been one of my favorite characters of this new series, I can vividly remember Bobby and Pam adopting (or should I say procuring) Christopher as a baby. One of the joys of this series is that I feel so connected to characters that I grew up watching.

But let's back track to the rest of this amazing finale…

I had little doubt that Bobby would choose Emma to be set free. It's what Ann would have wanted but having Luis free Ann instead was a great twist.

Back at Southfork, Bobby tried to console Sue Ellen who was gazing longingly at a bottle of bourbon…

Bobby: No gun toting terrorist has ever gotten the best of a Ewing yet. It’s not going to start today.

🔗 permalink: No gun toting terrorist has ever gotten the best of a Ewing yet. It’s not going to start today.

It reminded me of the early days of the original Dallas when a couple of gun toting bad guys held everyone hostage on the ranch to get back at JR. They all made it out alive that time. I wish we could say the same now.

Watching Emma try to escape was quite entertaining. The girl was cool under pressure as she used everything from her hair flip to her seductive gaze to try and find a way out. Unfortunately, it all went horribly wrong when Luis cornered her in that bathroom. Emma may never be quite the same.

It's hard to say if anyone else realizes what Emma went through but Judith figured it out and John Ross knew the moment he saw her. it turned out to be even more of a reason for this unlikely duo to work together.

Once again, kudos to Judith Light whose Judith Ryland went from a broken woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown back to the powerful diva who just became Railroad Commissioner in the span of two hours. Every moment she was on the screen was riveting.

John Ross' rescue mission only seemed to make Pamela all the more angry as she told Elena in this Dallas quote…

Pamela: Luckily John Ross’ heart is too small for a bullet to find it.

🔗 permalink: Luckily John Ross’ heart is too small for a bullet to find it.

She seemed to be taking her bitterness to a whole new level by sleeping with Nasir and stealing the company right out from under John Ross…or at least trying.

Despite his harsh words, John Ross looked truly heartbroken. He can't blame anyone else for the mess he made of his marriage but I think he really did love Pamela. But with Bobby and Sue Ellen back in charge at Ewing Global, Pamela seems as angry as her daddy when she declared the Barnes/Ewing feud back on. Does this mean she'll let Cliff out of his cage?

All season long I'd been rooting for John Ross and Pamela to find their way back together but after these last two episodes, I'm actually interested in seeing what  he and Emma could do as a team.

And who do you think John Ross' sister could be? My first thought was that it was the child that JR fathered during his short marriage to Callie. I can't seem to remember if we ever found out if she had a boy or a girl after leaving Dallas. Of course JR certainly bedded his share of women over the years. The mind reels trying to figure out which mistress could have given birth to his daughter.

But when Bobby crowed to John Ross that…

Bobby: In a lifetime your Daddy never got the best of me and he was twice the opponent you’ll ever be.

🔗 permalink: In a lifetime your Daddy never got the best of me and he was twice the opponent you’ll ever be.

I couldn't help but think that Bobby's ego had gotten a little too large for his own good. John Ross had finally had enough of the put downs and the comparisons as he told his uncle, "I am not just like my father. I'm worse." If that's the case, they really should be scared.

Elsewhere Nicolas turned out to be more formidable than I ever expected. I couldn't believe he was able to escape as Elena shot him twice in his penthouse. And even with two bullet holes in him, he still swore he'd protect Elena. Then moments later Christopher walks in and promises he'll take care of everything.

What is it about Elena that inspires such devotion and protectiveness? Maybe it's because I'm female but I really don't see it.

It was no surprise to find out that Elena was pregnant. Nicolas seemed pretty sure that his little swimmers did the deed since he's well aware that Elena also slept with John Ross.

But as we watched Elena walk toward Christopher's car, it was obvious what was about to take place. If Christopher Ewing is really dead, will Elena ever forgive herself for bringing the cartel into their lives with her plan for revenge?  Will Bobby survive losing his only son? And do you think that Christopher Ewing is really dead?

Also, if you want TNT to renew Dallas for season 4, send them a message and let them know it! Here at TV Fanatic we can't wait to see more.

John Ross calls in his private security and they take down the cartel. Everyone gets hauled off to prison except Nicolas who heads back to Dallas to tell the CIA everything he knows about the cartel. The head of the Mendez-Ochoa cartel swears vengeance on Nicolas loved ones and the Ewings.

Bobby and Ann reconcile but not before Tracy visits to cry on Bobby's shoulder and make Ann jealous.

John Ross goes to make up with Pamela only to find her in bed with Nasir. She's getting the money to buy the shares of Ewing Global back from the Treasury Dept. which now holds them after the take down of the cartel. John Ross is furrows.

Bobby and Sue Ellen use their pull with Treasury to get their hands on the shares before Pamela can. They cut out both Pamela and John Ross. Pamela says the war between the Ewings and the Barnes is back on.

Realizing that Emma was most likely raped but won't talk about it, Judith gives John Ross back the soiled dress and incriminating photos from her brothel. Then she asks if he would reach out to Emma as well as give her intel on Harris' dealings with the CIA.

John Ross is honest with Emma and tells her he went to Mexico as much for business as to save her. She returns the favor by giving him a file with information her father was going to use to blackmail JR. John Ross then gives Judith the incriminating recording Harris was going to use against her.

John Ross partner with Judith as she becomes the new Railroad Commissioner and has control over all the ports that Bobby and Sue Ellen will need to do business in the future.

After reading the files from Emma, John Ross asks Bum to find his sister.

Elena shoots Nicolas when she realizes he killed her brother but he escapes. Later, Nicolas has Luis and the head of the cartel killed in prison as he takes power. He plans to return for Elena.

Elena realizes that she's pregnant. When she leaves a gas station bathroom to meet Christopher back in his car, the car explodes with Christopher inside.

Baum breaks the encryption on Harris' thumb drive and finds a list of high level private contractors, most ex-special forces. John Ross hires one to help him find and free Emma.

John Ross outs Harris' CIA deal to Judith. Then he travels to Mexico and gets Luis to free Emma in exchange for himself and a deal to sell all of Ewing Global out from under Nicolas.

The head of the cartel brings Nicolas and Luis together. He tells Nicolas he'll believe they are all working together if he kills John Ross. Nicolas holds a gun on John Ross while Luis hold a gun on him.

In the wake of a kidnapping on Dallas, Bobby must choose which life to save. Elsewhere, Christopher worries for Elena's safety and John Ross and Pamela come to a tentative agreement.

The post Dallas Review: Who Will Bobby Save? appeared first on TV Fanatic.

]]>
Ann and Emma were the collateral damage in Dallas Season 3 Episode 13.

Will either of them get out of Mexico alive? There's certainly plenty of people trying to make that happen but they all have different agendas.

Ann was right when she told Emma that they were stronger if they worked together. As much as I was happy that neither one of them fell apart, there really wasn't much either of them could do. In the middle of nowhere in Mexico with armed men everywhere and bars on the windows, the hope of escape was nil.

Luis was a quiet but scary psychopath. One moment he's attempting the facade of a gracious host and the next he's holding a gun to Emma's head. That scene was very well played. Terror radiated off of Ann and Emma as she was dragged away as well as Harris and Judith on the other end of the line. If Luis' goal was to make them understand how serious he was, he succeeded.

Judith was in a state we'd never seen before…wrecked. Kudos to Judith Light for making me feel sympathy for her sociopath of a character. Even Bobby appeared completely disconcerted as Judith looked up at him with tearful eyes and admitted that Emma was everything to her.

Everyone was doing everything they could to ensure the hostages safe return. John Ross not only asked Pamela for help, he tried to broker a deal with a family he knew couldn't stand him. As he told Pamela in this Dallas quote…

John Ross: You here to beat up on me some more? Get in line I’ve got people who hate me on every continent.

🔗 permalink: You here to beat up on me some more? Get in line I’ve got people who hate me on every…

Perhaps no one hated him more right now than Pamela but I give her credit for being honest with him, "You and Emma, it killed me John Ross. I believed in both of you. But Ann, I'll do anything to help her even if it means helping you." So a tentative truce was formed…for now.

Christopher went to find Lucia Trevino. It was one thing to know her husband had a mistress, quite another to realize that he put being with Elena ahead of the safety of his family. I'm not sure why Lucia ended up at Southfork but it should make things plenty interesting if Elena returns there when all of this is done.

Speaking of Nicholas, he finally came clean with Elena. I suppose Hunter McKay's death made him realize that the cartel was cleaning up loose ends. Could he be one of them? Perhaps, but not until after he delivers the cash after liquidating Ewing Global.

Finally we get to Bobby. At first I almost laughed when Bobby spent his time calling politicians to save Ann and Emma. I'm not sure what good they are against the cartel or how much pull they really have with the CIA. But Bobby's master plan was ingenious, and incredibly risky.

A government sponsored emergency evacuation drill along the border would monopolize everyone's time and attention…and allow an entire train full of drugs to make it into Mexico. If he pulls it off, he can save Ann and Emma. If he gets caught he could spend a lifetime behind bars.

But right now Luis gave him a choice. He can have Ann or Emma. If he chooses Ann, she may never forgive him for leaving her daughter behind. If he chooses Emma, will the Rylands fight nearly as hard to help save Ann?

You tell me TV Fanatics, who do you think Bobby will choose to be set free?

On Watch Dallas Season 3 Episode 12, everyone races to claim ownership as Ewing Global goes public, the Ryland's partnership with the cartel turns deadly and Pamela comes face to face with her father.

The post Dallas Review: A Legacy of Revenge appeared first on TV Fanatic.

]]>
It was a legacy of revenge that fueled Dallas Season 3 Episode 12 and if it proved anything it's that hate breeds hate.  Perhaps no one man reflected that more than Cliff Barnes.

If anyone could understand Pamela's dilemma, it was Sue Ellen, if only because she'd dealt with the ruthlessness of the feud between Cliff and J.R. for decades. She gave Pamela the best advice she could…that the only way to find closure was to see her father face to face.

It's funny how Cliff only says "I love you" when he wants something, as though the words aren't so much a feeling but a tool he uses to manipulate the people who happen to care about him. The problem with that is that eventually they catch on…and leave him in a Mexican prison.

Cliff looked confused when Pamela gave him the deed to Ewing 6, so she explained in this Dallas quote…

Pamela: That plot of land was robbed from your father and because of that I was robbed from ever having one.

🔗 permalink: That plot of land was robbed from your father and because of that I was robbed from ever…

She was right when she accused him of hating the Ewings more than he ever loved her. If it weren't true, he never would have put her in danger on that rig. Part of me wonders if he would have given the order to blow it up if those unborn twins had not been half Ewing?

It was a powerful moment when Pamela told him, "Goodbye Daddy" and left him in that dark, desolate place. Cliff has been consumed with the need for revenge most of his adult life. It's ironic that he ended up on the receiving end of it from his own daughter.

Christopher finally figured out Nicolas' connection to the Mexican cartel. I only wish he would have known it when he spoke to Carmen. She's so sure that Nicolas is honorable. I wonder how she'd feel if she knew he had a wife and two kids back in Mexico as well.

How long do you think Nicolas can keep Elena in the dark? He's convinced her she left her phone back in Dallas but if he keeps pulling it out to listen to her messages, she's bound to catch him eventually. And who is taking the photos for the two of them? The cartel? The CIA?

When the news came out about Hunter McKay taking over the company, Pamela put the pieces together quickly and let John Ross have it…

Pamela: You selfish bastard. Lying and cheating were the only two things you were good at and now you’ve failed at them too.

🔗 permalink: You selfish bastard. Lying and cheating were the only two things you were good at and now…

Ouch! John Ross got played. Will he ever be able to redeem himself to Pamela or anyone else in the family?

Bobby tracked down Tracy McKay to ask for her help with Hunter. I always liked Tracy. Her fling with Bobby didn't last long but they both seemed to have fun and I enjoyed the reminder of them meeting while she hustled him at pool. But Tracy's daddy hated the Ewings and her brother's death only made it worse. Now the feud has been passed down to the grandchildren with deadly results.

But with Hunter dead, who gains control of his shares of Ewing Global? Did he have a will? Did he previously sign an agreement passing them on to Nicolas? I suppose we'll have to wait until next week to find out.

Finally we get to the Rylands. Nothing was more amusing than Judith rounding up the family to go do their drug deal with the cartel. Talk about a dysfunctional family outing.

When Luis presented Judith with that box, I had no doubt there was nothing good inside. At least it was too small for a head. (Fans of the movie Se7en will know what I mean.) Now Emma and Ann are in the hands of the cartel. Well, this should be a unique mother/daughter bonding experience.

Bobby was right when he said that the family lost control of Ewing Global when they failed to work together. But will coming together be enough to save the company, Elena, Emma and Ann? That seems like a tall order even for a family as powerful as the Ewings.

So tell me TV Fanatics, who do you think is taking pictures of Nicolas and Elena?
