Freeform has pulled the plug on Marvel's Cloak and Dagger.

The cable network has officially canceled the superhero drama series after two seasons.

Deadline first reported the news.

“We are so proud of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger and the trailblazing stories this series told,” Freeform said in a statement.

“We are also grateful to our incredible talent Oliva Holt and Aubrey Joseph for bringing these beloved characters to life, and showrunner Joe Pokaski for his vision."

"We’d like to thank our partners at Marvel Television for a wonderful two seasons, and we are hopeful that we can find another project together.”

The series starred Joseph and Holt as Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen, two teenagers who decide to take up a life of crime-fighting after learning that they are both fated to save New Orleans.

The cast also included Gloria Reuben, Andrea Roth, and Emma Lahana.

The series launched in June 2018 to 0.9 million viewers and a 0.3 rating, but that season ultimately averaged 0.6 million viewers and a 0.2 rating after the show suffered declines.

Cloak and Dagger Season 2 went lower, averaging 0.4 million viewers and a 0.1 rating in the demo.

Given that the season wrapped back in May, and Freeform was ominously quiet about a renewal, it seemed like the show was earmarked for cancellation.

The show was tied in the ratings with the ill-fated PLL: The Perfectionists, which was recently canceled.

However, the lower-rated The Bold Type scored a renewal. Still, it's a shame fans will not get much closure for Tandy and Tyrone.

The characters will next be seen on Marvel's Runaways Season 3, which premieres in December. Both Holt and Joseph are on board for a special episode.

It's unclear whether those appearances could lead to something more down the line, or if Hulu could potentially revive the series.

Andre begins the final stage of his master plan on Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10. Will his music take over the world? Read on to find out.

We've made it, Marvel's Cloak & Dagger fans! The battle for the future of New Orleans was sung with the sweet jazzy tunes from Andre's trumpet.

The nefarious new Loa has put his plan into effect on Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10. His music slowly captivated and kidnapped unsuspecting victims, but our trusted heroes weren't going to let that plan go on for much longer.

Cloak and Dagger Season 2's finale is going bigger and better in the Darkforce, but did it leave us with despair or were we filled with glowing hope?

In The Darkforce - Tall - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

"Level Up" followed Tandy and Tyrone's intense confrontation against the Big Bad of Cloak and Dagger Season 2. The fight balanced the need to stop Andre's ego-centric villainy while also showcasing how the pair overcame their own internalized fears.

Having the final hour continue with these themes, and guide both Tandy and Tyrone into the superheroes they were meant to be, helped to close off this chapter on a positive and hopeful note.

Tandy and Tyrone needed to face these hurdles if they were ever going to grow, even if those hurdles were ones they built inward. The same goes for the supporting characters as well, like Mayhem/Brigid, Adina, Melissa, Mina, and so forth.

Andre took on that role; both physically and supernaturally with his powers. Now that he's out of the way, Marvel's Cloak & Dagger is entering the next phase of its characters' development.

Missing Melissa - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

In particular, overcoming the stigma and fear of the past was a common thread that tied many of the characters together.

Mina finding peace over becoming a Terror, Delgado finding forgiveness, and Mayhem coming to terms with Fuchs' death were plots that achieved optimistic resolutions. With despair in the air (or after being resolved), the characters faced the pain that burrowed deep within them for so long.

And the resolutions from the season finale were in addition to the endings that progressed during Marvel's Cloak & Dagger's sophomore run.

For example, the connected journey of Adina's and Connors' stories. Connors overcame his villainous past to seek redemption and do some good to make up for the evil he caused. While Adina, on the other hand, faced the pain head-on in the form of Connors to close the book on her fear.

I enjoyed this ongoing theme because it stayed consistent through its many forms. And with Tandy and Tyrone being the heroes of light and shadow (i.e., hope and fear), that connection suited the tone of the story.

These endings, while not always resolved in the best ways, showcased that hope is stronger than despair. Even in the darkest depths, there is a light that can shine through.

Plus, with Andre being the embodiment of despair, defeating him was the perfect symbolic victory.

In The Cards - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

In the case of Tandy and Tyrone, taking their journey to the Darkforce to face Andre helped them more than they even realized.

Being forced to battle within the Darkforce left the pair at a disadvantage since anything could happen in this evil dimension. With Andre now acting as a god, he had the upper hand with stronger powers and control.

Evita: First, we look at the past.

[Evita deals out the cards]

Evita: Ancient Loa made rare allowing responsible mortals into their ranks.

[She deals more cards]

Evita: It seems some force has been given all the power with none of the responsibility.

Tandy: That would be Andre.

Evita: Despair. That’s all I see in his future.

🔗 permalink: Despair. That’s all I see in his future.

Plus, as more people fell victim to Andre's spell, his energy increased. Seeing unsuspecting victims, like Mina, the getaway driver, and the cop, be ripped from their normal lives showcased how powerful he was becoming.

If the pair hadn't stopped him when they did, Andre's song would've kidnapped every single person in New Orleans.

He set the battlefield, he directed the progression and the movement, and he had the leverage. However, his ego didn't take into account the human spirit. His control inadvertently taught the heroes how to conquer their inner foes.

Barry Talks About Reverse Flash - The Flash Season 5 Episode 10

Nathan Bowen being Tandy's final boss battle symbolized a climax that took two years in the making.

Tandy's development since Cloak and Dagger Season 1 Episode 1 tied closely to the heartache and resentment that stemmed from her father's actions. Everything goes back to Nathan; his death, his abuse, and his lies negatively impacted Tandy's life.

Related: Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 9 Review: Blue Note

And ever since the truth came out, Tandy's impulse to stop abusers and criminals kicked into overdrive due to the guilt of not stopping her father. Her coming face-to-face with that guilt (i.e., Nathan) was the ending she needed to reach.

I liked that Tandy refused to listen to any of Nathan's excuses.

This version of Tandy was a stark contrast to the Tandy of Cloak and Dagger Season 1. Every time he tried to give his side of the story or play on her emotions, she dished out a retort to shut him down. Nathan couldn't prey on her old memories; Tandy knew of his monstrous side.

Armed To Decor - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

Even though she fought admirably against him, her crowning moment has to be the Zorro sign-off.

Tandy's white dagger turning into a sword signified her transformation into a mature hero. A "warrior," if you will. She faced the demons and fought the enemies to come out on top as a stronger and hopeful person.

Since she found the courage to face her biggest regret (i.e., Nathan), her powers reached a new level we hadn't witnessed yet. And sending Nathan into the darkness was her biggest accomplishment to date.

Andre: Back in the day when we used to play the clubs, you never knew who would walk in the door and jam with you. Ms. Bowen and Mr. Johnson, I appreciate your enthusiasm and your effort to make your way here, but ain’t no geek off the street can just jump in and jam with me anymore.

🔗 permalink: Ain’t no geek off the street can just jump in and jam with me anymore.

Though, slashing Zorro's "Z" on Nathan's shirt was a tad … cheesy.

The one-liner was cute, but adding in the whole explanation of classifying Nathan hammered this joke in a little too much. The TV show really wanted Tandy to have a clever moment to finish off Nathan.

17 Will They Won't They Couples That Should

Tyrone, on the other hand, faced a doppelganger of his preppy and privileged past. His inner demon stemmed from squandering all the opportunities he had in life due to the mistakes he made within the last year.

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger missed a big opportunity to make Tyrone's final boss battle either Billy or Connors.

Even though he was hard on himself, a majority of his problems can be traced back to what happened at the pier. Tyrone felt guilty over letting down Billy, and he blamed Connors for the pain he experienced in life, regardless that they found peace near the end.

Related: Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 8 Review: Two Player

Connecting the inner turmoil back to one of them would've had the same impact as Tandy's situation. Their connected stories should have found faced the same obstacles to showcase the power/impact of the oil rig explosion.

Though, I do appreciate the metaphor of Tyrone beating himself up over his guilt. (Which is very meta and psychological in a way.)

I guess it goes to show that it's true that your own worst enemy can be yourself.

Eureka! - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

Still, Marvel's Cloak & Dagger made the right choice by utilizing the bond between Tandy and Tyrone to save the day. Once the pair came together, they found the strength to defeat their inner foes and Andre.

This theme has been the ongoing thread that has connected the series overall.

Even in the darkness, Andre's powers couldn't keep them from reuniting. They broke through every wall and barrier to come together and assess the situation. And when they decided to fight each other's baddies instead, that moment summed up their relationship.

Tandy and Tyrone, regardless of their pain, will be there to help one another in the thick of things. That's one of the reasons why I love Marvel's Cloak & Dagger; the bond of the characters is one of the strongest pairings seen on any TV show.

Can You Hear The Music? - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

Also, let's not forget the glorious scene that was Tandy bursting from Tyrone's shadow to stab Andre with the sword. That moment is epic!

Cloak and Dagger were in peak superhero mode during that defeat. It had everything: an intense fight, their allies (Mina, Melissa, and Mikayla) holding back their enemy, and a heart-pounding final strike that combined their powers.

That moment has to go in Marvel's Top 10 TV battles.

Tandy: The light can’t be good for the migraine.

[Tandy throws out daggers and hits Melissa, Mikayla and Mina]

Andre: You missed!

Tandy: I wasn’t aiming for you.

[Mina, Mikayla and Melissa go back to normal]

Tyrone: How did you know it was going to work?

Tandy: A wise man once told me they’re made of hope.

[Tandy dishes out a large light ball]

🔗 permalink: I wasn’t aiming for you.

Plus, the payback of Andre being forced to listen to his broken record in the Darkforce for eternity was simply sweet, sweet justice. (The tea was boiled, and the pettiness was extra salty.)

Andre couldn't have had a more fitting defeat.

Light The Candle - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

Back in the real world, I enjoyed the duo of Evita and Mayhem trying to protect the candle.

Neither were on the best terms with the pair, but they set that aside to make sure that New Orleans would get saved. Plus, if Mayhem hadn't shown up when she did, the shadow men would've caused the candle to go out, so her arrival was perfect timing.

Tandy and Tyrone are never alone; they'll always have their allies to help them if need be.

Though, not romantically based on the cold shoulder that Evita gave Tyrone yet again. Can they just be friends again?

23 Ships Almost Everyone Can Agree On

The final moments of "Level Up" ended the season on a hopeful note, but it also provided a conclusion to the series overall.

Let's brace ourselves, Marvel's Cloak & Dagger fans. Based on how everyone had a good resolution, I wouldn't be surprised if the journey ended here.

Mayhem found peace with Brigid; Father Delgado got clean, Mina is working on her science, Connors paid his debts, Lia's in jail, and Tyrone's name got cleared in the scandal. For the most part, the story in New Orleans finished.

Tandy and Tyrone getting on the bus and heading to a new city (New York City?) to become superheroes essentially rebooted the show for the next stage of their adventure. If Marvel's Cloak & Dagger comes back for another season, we could be seeing a completely different show, but if it doesn't, I'm happy with the ending delivered.

Tandy: Do you think we can do it?

Tyrone: What’s that?

Tandy: Be good … be heroes … be divine impaired in other places?

Tyrone: Let me answer that question with another question.

Tandy: And what question is that?

Tyrone: Waffles or pancakes?

[They stare at each other and smile]

Tandy: Waffles, duh.

[Tyrone offers his hand and Tandy interlocks her fingers with his]

🔗 permalink: Waffles or pancakes?

Tandy and Tyrone are together, and it's going to be the start of something new in their hero's journey, as well as their romantic relationship.

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger has consistently been a visually cinematic and action-packed TV series that put its characters to the forefront. The show never shied away from the real pain its characters faced, as well as having one of the best soundtracks on TV. It's an underrated treasure from Marvel's TV properties.

If the journey ends here, let's always remember that hope is stronger than despair. Tandy and Tyrone taught us that.

Topple The King - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

Last Thoughts From The Dream World:

 • Tandy and Tyrone emerging from the mirrors in their Cloak and Dagger costumes is a mood. They came ready to fight and had the confidence to take on the world. New York City criminals should be afraid.

 • Stan Lee's tribute after the bus drove away was the perfect clip to end off Marvel's Cloak & Dagger Season 2. He will be missed!
 • The final battle shifting through the multiple worlds positively utilized all of the set pieces. The scenes had somewhat of an Inception vibe to it; you never knew where the heroes would end up next in their fight or who would emerge next.

 • When Delgado threw out Andre's vinyl record, did that mean Andre was trapped in the record?

 • Who else screamed, "Kiss each other!" when Tandy and Tyrone interlocked their hands? Talk about a perfect rom-com moment.

Tandy and Tyrone search deep into Lia's mind for secrets about Andre on Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 9. What do they discover? Read on to find out.

]]>
The truth shall set you free, but it didn't help Lia on Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 9. Andre's closest ally is still trapped in the darkness after his mental manipulation and punishment.

Tandy and Tyrone dug deep into her mind with the hopes of freeing her while also discovering the truth about their foes. Their exploration didn't cure Lia's darkness; however, the truth of Andre's main goal and the secrets of the past came to light.

Did the journey into the mind hit the right note?

Back In Darkness - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 9
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

"Blue Note" focused mainly on providing exposition and backstory to fill in many of the missing pieces. Before Tandy, Tyrone, and Mayhem could stop the Big Bads from completing their mission, they (as well as we) needed to know how the villains got to this point.

The problem, however, is that the majority of exposition was held until Cloak and Dagger Season 2's penultimate episode. Everything got provided in one big batch, but it felt too-little-too-late to do anything about it.

In a longer season, the flashbacks of Andre's suicide attempt or him meeting Lia would get spread into different episodes. There would be time to grow and develop with the villains. Instead, the truth came all out at once and rushed through to the big climax.

Related: Get Shudder via Prime Video Channels for Spine-Tingling & Provocative Films, TV Series, & Originals!

As compared to Cloak and Dagger Season 1, the narrative suffered as a result. Andre's and Lia's pasts didn't pack as quite a punch as the Roxxon drama had a year prior.

Plus, Andre's impact as the main Big Bad fell a bit short since it was dialed back to selfish wants or local issues.

To spend the majority of an episode on flashbacks and backstories, the details needed to be earth-shattering or the purpose had to be essential. The stories here involved some facts that we, as viewers already knew. And ultimately, all of the searching into Lia's mind had no weight.

The trip became a lot of filler.

The Music Man - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 9
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

Andre's progression toward becoming the villain we all know and despise today didn't offer many new cards to the table.

His medical case of migraines, his descent into depression, and his failed suicide attempt were discussed previously in conversations with Tandy. Anything new came from his involvement with Lia post-oil rig explosion.

While the question of why Andre developed his migraines didn't get answered (I guess hitting the blue note triggered something in him?), his selfish personality was confirmed.

He no longer can blame any decisions on being infected with powers.

Tyrone: Tandy, what do we do?

Andre: Nothing. There’s nothing you can do. Pretty soon there will be nothing that no one can do.

Tandy: What do you want?

Andre: An audience. One big enough that I can draw enough of their despair so I can hit a blue note.

Tyrone: What’s a blue note?

Andre: It’s what separates a man from a god.

[Tyrone turns to Tandy]

Tyrone: You didn’t tell me he was insane.

🔗 permalink: You didn’t tell me he was insane.

There's nothing wrong with being ambitious, but he didn't need to reach for the blue note at such a pivotal point in his career. He should've performed a stellar show first to lock down the gig before risking it all with the mythical music note.

In addition to that, once he discovered that causing people pain cured his migraines, he jumped onto that train without a second thought. Andre thinks about himself first and what he's going to get out of life.

Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 9 was his Slytherin side shining brightly.

The 100

Even during the trip into Lia's mind, Andre couldn't resist rubbing his ego in Tyrone and Tandy's faces.

He suffered from the classic case of "villain complex." Andre had to go into a full-blown narrative to explain his demands and his ultimate goal of becoming a god.

Telling the main heroes your plan probably wasn't his best idea. The truth bomb only pushed them further into trying to stop him from accomplishing his goal.

Deadly Record - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 9
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

It's a shame that his failure at the jazz club led him to consider suicide. No one should feel that low and alone, even a future sociopath and villain like Andre.

I wish that Marvel's Cloak & Dagger spent more time exploring the four months in between his first migraine and the oil rig explosion that changed his life.

Those months were pivotal points in his life because it led him down a path to the moment where he ended up at the lake. Was he fully unable to play his trumpet again? Did the failure at the jazz club ruin his reputation?

Lia: There were people on the river last night. They watched you jump.

Andre: When you lose what you love, the whole world seems empty.

Lia: You lost someone?

Andre: The love of my life: my music. It was my whole world, before I started getting these migraines!

🔗 permalink: When you lose what you love, the whole world seems empty.

Details like these would explain how depressed he became, and eventually, how nefarious his mindset got. Without it, we had to take the matter as fact and move on.

In a perfect world, there would be more development to get the full picture of Andre's, and Lia's, villain narrative.

Bad Habits - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 9

The descent into Lia's mind shed a lot of light into the background of the secondary villain. And since "Blue Note" focused mainly on Andre's backstory, it made sense also to explain how his closest ally became involved too.

Their roles are so closely linked together that the show couldn't explain one without discussing the other villain too. Especially since there are only 10 episodes for Cloak and Dagger Season 2 and we don't have a lot of time left.

Based on what Lia had told Tandy previously of her past, her true memories came as a bit of a surprise.

Lia had her life together, and a great career helping people as a nurse. It's strange to think that she spent her life saving people before Andre ruined it, but now she's destroying lives with no remorse. If she had not been his attending nurse, the current series of events would be different.

Plus, Lia's past association with music provided another reason why Andre most likely kept her around.

Young Lia seemed dedicated while playing her instrument during her recital; she was possibly on track for a big career before something went wrong. Andre's manipulation in the hospital made her spill that she didn't truly want to be a nurse.

Could she have had a failed music career?

If so, that upset would explain why Andre trusted her a lot. Both of them would be kindred spirits in their failed pursuits.

Bellamy Blake - The 100

From the way that Andre manipulated her, does that make her a victim too?

Don't get me wrong, Lia is equally as culpable as Andre for everything they caused together during their crimes. But, the way she got to that point was through brainwashing, manipulation, and Andre's pain powers. She ultimately was his first victim.

Mayhem: You think you know so much? You’re so worldly and wise? People like Lia … and Andre … like Connors. Yeah, they’ve had bad s*** happen to them, but that does not justify the bad s*** they do to others. Period.

Tandy: It is not that simple.

Mayhem: Yes, it is. Now move.

[Mayhem raises her gun to Tandy]

Tandy: No.

Mayhem: I’m not gonna say it again. Move!

Tandy: No!

[Tandy raises her dagger]

🔗 permalink: It is not that simple.

During Andre's flashback of the support group, Lia didn't look happy to be involved. She probably acted as a reluctant accomplice at that before acclimating herself to her new depressing and evil world.

The backstory created some sympathy for the character. I feel bad for what she went through and how Andre used her … but it doesn't make up for the evil she caused during their partnership.

Cloak Fights Back - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 9
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

In between the flashbacks, Tandy and Tyrone made some big strides for the future of their mini-conflicts.

Tandy and Mayhem are still frenemies (reluctant allies?), but Tandy now knows that she can stand up to a deadly force like Mayhem. Their fight in the church escalated quickly; they practically near destroyed the building if they hadn't stopped when they did.

Sure, Tandy did it to save Lia, but her inner light can defeat Mayhem's chaos any day. Hopefully, she won't regret keeping Lia alive!

(Side-note: The foreshadowing was strong here, so there's a good chance Mayhem will get her "I told you so!" moment.)

Tyrone, on the other hand, changed the entire drug scene in New Orleans in only one battle. Why didn't he do that sooner?!

Beyond the fact that now two more people know his secret, he used his dark powers for good. Those two criminals are positively scared of him and will never call on his wrath. Being pushed repeatedly off buildings has a way of striking fear into people.

The drug business wasn't destroyed, but at least no one will ever be sold drugs to use against other people. Baby steps…

17 Will They Won't They Couples That Should

Now that Andre has opened the locked door in his mind, what does it mean for New Orleans?

All of his brainwashed victims are gone, and he got bathed in light in that glowing room. Plus, if his music can be heard outside of his single victims, the rest of the city might be falling into pain spirals.

Tandy and Tyrone might be the only ones who can stop him since they seem not to be affected by the music. We'll have to see how it impacts the greater people of the city.

If Cloak and Dagger Season 1 Episode 10 is anything to go by, we could be in for a city-wide panic and chaos. I can't wait!

Last Thoughts From The Dream World:

 • The door's lock getting opened by the blue note was a clever twist. Of course, the Darkforce would find a way to rub Andre's failure in his face with the note being the key. Darkness is so petty!

 • Mikayla and Melissa getting revealed as brainwashed victims was a satisfying surprise that tied back Andre's collection of records. Melissa's sudden slide into her vices made a lot of sense in retrospect; Andre pushed her to that point of depression since he had access to her records.

 • The sudden disappearances and personality changes in the kidnapped girls were most likely attributed to Andre's meddling too.

Adina: Are you in trouble? You need to be laying low, Tyrone. People are looking…

Tyrone: Mom, stop, I’m fine! I can take care of myself.

Adina: I know that you can, Tyrone. I know that. It’s not you I worry about, it’s everyone else.

🔗 permalink: It’s not you I worry about, it’s everyone else.

 • The conversation between Tyrone and Adina when he confronts her about murdering Connors is going to be awkward. He's already suspicious of her. If he doesn't find a way to clear his name, their relationship could suffer.

Who wouldn't want to play an arcade game of Marvel's Cloak & Dagger? Freeform and Marvel need to get on this project ASAP!

Tandy and Tyrone ventured into the digital world on Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 8 to face their demons in a new form.

The pair punched and kicked their way through the levels, but the reality of the dark side became too much for one of them. No quarters required for an extra life; all they really needed was change.

Dagger To The Rescue - Tall - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 8
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

"Two Player" showcased another reason why Marvel's Cloak & Dagger is one of the best cinematic shows on TV right now. As mentioned above, Tandy and Tyrone's journey transferred from the real world to the 8-bit screen in arcade form.

The decision to turn part of the hour into a video game suited the TV show's adventurous side with its past use of special effects and design styles.

Breaking Through - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 8
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

Elements like soundtracks defining scenes, captivating camera angles, and the use of special effects have helped shape the tone and impact of scenes. During "Two Player" alone, Tyrone's overflowing shadows increased the urgency for help based on how much it moved on its own and how it reacted to Evita's sigils.

This choice showed that Tyrone's powers were out of control.

Tyrone: You’re really good at this.

Tandy: Damn right! You know, I was never much of a gamer, but I’m starting to think that I missed my calling.

🔗 permalink: You know, I was never much of a gamer, but I’m starting to think that I missed my calling.

In the case of the video game, the arcade provided a fun and retro outlet to present the pair's struggle over their demons. They fought continuous generic baddies, but the use behind it had a lot more importance for Baron Samedi playing them like puppets.

Plus, anything can happen in the Darkforce. Once minute Andre is playing a mind-altering vinyl in a record store in a dark mall, but the next Tandy and Tyrone are playing games in an eerie arcade run by Baron Samedi. Realism gets suspended.

Party of Five Reboot Gets Emotional First Trailer – WATCH

It all makes sense in the dream/dark world.

As a gamer, I loved the inclusion of the 8-bit arcade game. The game felt like a perfect mix of comic book and TV show lore.

The "Beat 'em up" style games ruled arcades in the 80s/90s, and Tandy's jokes when she got pulled into the game were all spot on. Anyone who grew up playing these retro games can pick up on the campy nods to gaming past.

Grapple - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 8
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

The symbolism of the arcade game had a big impact on both Tandy's and Tyrone's journeys.

Tandy: Why did you come to that motel to try and save me?

Tyrone: Because I couldn’t imagine my life without you.

Tandy: I did. Andre … he made me see you dying in front of me. And the one person in the whole world who understood me was gone and it was my fault.

Tyrone: He messed with my head too. He made me feel like you never cared about me, like it was all just an act.

Tandy: Maybe you’re right. Maybe it is better to ignore everything? All I know is I’d rather fight a hundred times with you than without you. So if you’re staying here, so am I.

🔗 permalink: All I know is I’d rather fight a hundred times with you than without you.

Even though Tyrone was the one initially trapped in the Darkforce, Tandy had trauma of her own holding her back due to the kidnapping. That's where the inclusion of Andre as the arcade's boss fight came in.

Fighting against the generic baddies was second nature for Tandy and Tyrone; they've defeated petty criminals plenty in the past.

However, Tandy has a hard time when facing the big enemy in her life; whether it's a physical person or an abstract barrier. Tandy is not emotionally prepared yet to face Andre head-on.

She's going to need to overcome her baggage if she and Tyrone will ever have the strength needed to stop their enemy.

Evita made a huge sacrifice for the people she loved. Without the choice she made, the heroes wouldn't have won today.

The 100

While this journey into the Darkforce will only be a blip for Tandy, Tyrone, and Mayhem/Brigid, Evita will have to carry this burden for the rest of her life.

You could say this decision was her "calling," as Chantelle would put it. Evita has the second sight, and with her psychic abilities, she could do a lot of good. But, she had dreams of going to medical school and curing people. Her path completely diverged from the dream Tandy nearly stole back in Cloak and Dagger Season 1.

As the wedding procession appeared in the church, I felt heartbroken for Evita. Especially when she teared up at seeing her dead aunt conducting the ceremony.

Evita had a rough day with finding out her aunt got murdered, and her boyfriend got trapped in the Darkforce. On top of that, being forced to marry a loa to save his life hammered in the emotional and physical exhaustion she probably felt. This reality was not the future she had in mind.

In an alternate timeline, Evita would've married Tyrone. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if their friendship suffered or ended; she gave him the coldest of shoulders in the shop as Chantelle's body got wheeled away.

This romantic relationship is done and buried.

Lost Love - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 1
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

Speaking of dead, Connors' death came as a surprising twist!

Sure, Adina toyed with the idea of murdering her son's killer, but she walked away from that edge during Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 7. The reason, of course, was to ensure Tyrone's name got cleared. To make that happen, Connors needed to be alive.

Adina found a loophole. (Give it to a lawyer for exploiting any opening in a case, even a blackmail one!)

Tyrone might have supernatural abilities, but Adina might be the more dangerous Johnson family member. She didn't hesitate to dispose of Connors once she got every piece of information she could get out of him.

Plus, the way she dropped the truth bomb to Delgado during their confessional was a perfect mix of savagery and icy retort.

Adina didn't care what evil she did; she got the justice that took years in the making. Plus, she convinced Delgado to expose the files on the corrupt cops, so she's already won in her eyes. Sacrifices were needed.

Crime Scene - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 8
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

If one thing became clear after "Two Player," it's that Brigid and Mayhem's issues could've gotten solved with a little TLC. If they had put away their initial animosity, the pair could've talked it out and become a stronger unit by now.

Related: Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 6 Review: B Sides

They're two sides of the same coin; they complement each other because one is dark and the other is light. Without the other, they were half of their true self.

Mayhem: Jesus, you chewed these things to shreds. Anxious about something?

Brigid: What color is that?

Mayhem: “Poison.”

[Brigid gives a confused expression]

Mayhem: Literally, that’s the name. I have a brand.

🔗 permalink: I have a brand.

Brigid and Mayhem needed the alone time to work out their issues and come together as one being. And based on their history, talking it out over a manicure was the smartest move to lay everything on the table.

With Mayhem taking control of the newly reformed Brigid, what does this mean for the future? Could there be shifts between darker and lighter Brigid?

Hopefully, we'll have "Brigid" return at some point. I like Mayhem's edge and directness, but there's something nice about Brigid's caring side.

17 Starcrossed Couples Who Can't Catch a Break

Andre is a monster!

Killing Lia so that he could clear the pain from his mind might be one of the lowest things he's ever done. The lowest is still creating the human trafficking operation and kidnapping the girls. (He is the worst overall.)

Related: Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 5 Review: Alignment Chart

Lia was so dedicated to him. You could see the fear and reluctance on her face when he needed to place the pain in her mind. Lia was no angel; she's equally culpable in everything Andre did, but she didn't need to get used.

Andre has killed a lot of people in his path toward unlocking the sigil. Now that he has the key, Tandy and Tyrone need to stop him ASAP! If he gets the power, no one will be safe if they get in his way.

Cloak Fights - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 8
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

Last Thoughts From The Dream World:

 • I'm sad that Chantelle is dead. She had all the wisdom and witty truth-bombs to make any intense scene light-hearted. Evita will no doubt feel this loss deep in her heart.

 • Tandy's confession to Tyrone over the thought of losing him = heartbreaking!

 • Baron Samedi needs to return in the future. He threw out one-liners and retorts like it was his bread and butter!

Baron Samedi: Look!

[A bouquet appears in the glass shelf]

Tyrone: Hey, what is that?

Baron Samedi: A wedding bouquet. And you, my boy, are the bride’s price. A life for a life. A bouquet for the cloak.

Tyrone: But I … I don’t understand.

Baron Samedi: Time for you two to scat and take your friends with you. The missus likes a clean house.

[He snaps his fingers and they teleport away]

🔗 permalink: A life for a life. A bouquet for the cloak.

 • Delgado was frustrating! Yes, he wanted redemption for what he did in the car crash, but him helping to take down corrupt cops AND prove Tyrone's innocence would've been a great heroic move. He shouldn't have needed a half-hour of convincing to do a good deed.

 • Papa Legba likes candy but not gum. Someone write this down for the future.

 • If Evita's bouquet is currently in Baron Samedi's arcade, does that mean she could potentially be freed from her loa marriage?

Hope is hard to find when you're trapped in Andre's world. Luckily, that didn't stop Tandy and Tyrone from dishing out some superhero justice.

On Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 7, Tandy faced the realities of being a prisoner in Andre and Lia's motel operation.

Nothing gets in the way of Cloak and Dagger whenever they're trying to save each other. That fact includes fences, gates, walls, people, and molecular reality.

Tyrone reuniting with Tandy after her kidnapping was only a matter of time.

The pair has a strong mystical bond, and even with their troubles, they'll still find a way back to each other. Tyrone (and Brigid too) searched everywhere for Tandy, which unfortunately led him into the grasp of Andre's control. Well, for a short time, at least.

"Vikingtown Sound" focused heavily on Tandy learning firsthand of Andre and Lia's operation with the kidnapped girls while Tyrone searched the city for her. The depressing plot took Tandy to a place of hopelessness so that she could overcome her demons and rise up.

(The same goes for the B-plot of Connors and Adina, but we'll get to that in a bit.)

The plot had its fair share of exciting action sequences, but it was the deep character developments and dialogue that pushed the tone forward. The characters felt like a phoenix rising from the ashes to take back their power and authority.

It felt at times equal parts sad and uplifting.

The Kidnappers - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 7

Andre and Lia's motel business seemed pretty sloppy and disorganized. For all the buildup the villains had made, the actual operation could've been easily discovered and dismantled.

If Dell had not ratted on Tandy, she would've walked out without any trouble. Any of the girls would've been able to escape and tell the police if they had simply left the motel.

Andre and Lia relied too much on manipulation, brainwashing, and his powers. The girls complied, but someone doubting them could've changed everything.

Tandy: My friends are going to find me.

Lia: What friends, Tandy? I’ve been watching you for weeks now. Sitting in that circle, brooding and boiling. All that untapped rage and energy looking for an outlet.

Tandy: Don’t act like you know me.

Lia: Don’t act like I don’t. This motel is filled with girls like you, and they all start off thinking there’s someone out there that’s gonna find them. Then they all remember the friend they told off … the mother they screamed at. When you have nobody, nobody’s gonna save you.

🔗 permalink: When you have nobody, nobody’s gonna save you.

The outcome felt underwhelming. I expected a grander operation based on all the work and ambulances used to make this happen.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that Tandy and Tyrone destroyed the motel within a day. Everyone needed to be saved, and the satisfaction of Lia being defeated was a hallelujah moment we can all celebrate.

However, when Lia opened the door and told Tandy and Dell that they could simply leave (that no one was being held there against their will), that scene undercut all the terror that Marvel's Cloak & Dagger tried to establish earlier.

Word to the wise for villains: If you're trying to exude that escape is futile, don't show how easily someone can escape within the first few minutes of their capture. Lia didn't think through that smug confrontation.

Bellamy and Clarke - The 100

Dell's mini-arc was the surprise hit that made the biggest difference for the heroes.

The brainwashed girl started as a subservient prisoner before becoming a brave survivor who recognized her worth. As a contrast to Andre's and Lia's continued speeches to demoralize Tandy, the rise of Dell showed that their manipulation wasn't absolute.

Each kidnapped girl had the power to leave, and they were only held there based on the pain and inner fears manipulated by their captors.

Like every self-help book and quote you've seen before, the power is all in self-love. And because of the bravery that Dell showed, it gave Tandy hope, and hope was all she needed to fight back.

Thankfully, Tandy snapped out of her darkness. We couldn't have our hero trapped in the darkness forever; she deserves a life full of love and light.

Reunited (And It Feels So Good) - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 6
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

The battle at the motel was a thrilling and action-packed fight sequence. When Tyrone caused the ambulance to crash and when Tandy ripped Lia through the wall, you knew that drama was about to go down!

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger loves to have music shape the progression and style of their fight scenes.

Tandy: Where’s Tyrone?

Andre: It’s possible that your heart is confused as well. That friend of yours … he’s gone from your life, remember? I shot him dead.

Tandy: No. You’re just messing with me. Just like you did with Michayla, right? Because that’s what you do, right? You get in their minds and cause them cause.

Andre: I don’t cause anyone’s pain. I understand it, feel for it, commiserate it with mine. It’s the only way to tap down my migraines.

Tandy: So this is all so you can blow your horn?

Andre: This is so I can survive. The world saddled me with so much pain; the only way I can keep on is to share it from time to time.

Tandy: That’s sick.

Andre: That’s America, Tandy Bowen.

🔗 permalink: That’s America, Tandy Bowen.

Whenever the track built toward a bass drop, Tandy slowed down to deliver a powerful attack. And as the beat increased, Tyrone landed one fast hit after another. The pairing of the music and choreography blended together for an exciting climax.

Plus, the surprise reunion between Tandy and Tyrone ended their separation off on a high note. They didn't even know they would be seeing each other, but the joy on their faces summed it all up.

Why can't they just get together already?

Andre's Hopelessness - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 7
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

It's a miracle that Adina didn't kill Connors. You could feel the animosity radiating from her body as her son's killer sat tied to the chair.

Gloria Reuben (who plays Adina Johnson) did an amazing job capturing the feeling of a mother pushed to the brink of heartbreak and anger. Her severe expressions and cold tone created a sense of uneasiness; it kept us as viewers on our toes because we weren't sure if she would snap and kill Connors.

Throughout many instances during their forced contact, Adina looked ready to lash out at the man who systematically destroyed her family's life. Luckily, Adina is a rational individual who can separate personal feelings and business.

She needed Connors alive to save Tyrone's life.

Adina: I know you’re the best way to make sure that Tyrone never has to look over his shoulder ever again.

Connors: That’s all I want as well … justice.

Adina: You have to understand the irony in that statement … given that you murdered my first-born in cold blood.

Connors: Yes, ma’am.

Adina: He was one of your other wrongs?

Connors: He was.

Adina: I’m going hold onto these two thoughts in my head. I’m gonna reconcile them, I’m gonna cook, and we’re gonna talk. And we’ll see … we’ll see if your value to Tyrone outweighs the need for me to end your life for what you did to Billy.

🔗 permalink: You have to understand the irony in that statement.

This scene paid off in so many ways, like for the progression of both their character developments and for the movement of the plot.

Connors found peace at facing the realities of his crimes. Adina achieved peace at confronting her son's killer. Plus, she got the whereabouts of Billy's body, so now she can properly put her son to rest.

Not all scenes have to be big action sequences to make a powerful impact. The tense dialogue between these two adversaries delivered a subtle-yet-positive note for "Vikingtown Sound."

Lucifer

We have to give Mayhem some credit here: she saved the day, even if she didn't realize it.

Andre had Tyrone under his spell and nearly got him to give up on searching for Tandy, but thanks to Mayhem's curiosity, she brought Tyrone back to his senses. Just like listening to a favorite tune, music can positively change your day. And change it did!

Changing the records and destroying them was a genius move. Mayhem didn't sit back and let Andre continue his harm, she prevented him from doing more harm after realizing what was going on back in the real world.

She might be more of a hero than she looks.

Camping Gear - Tall - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 4
(Alyssa Moran/Freeform)

Plus, the destruction of the record store had more weight to it thanks to the visual effects it caused.

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger included stylistic elements in the real world whenever Mayhem used the record player. One subtle and captivating moment, in particular, was the appearance of the ballet dancers. Playing Tandy's ballet vinyl during Tyrone's mind control enhanced their connection even further and manifested that experience into a living and breathing sign.

Related: Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 5 Review: Alignment Chart

I enjoyed this plot effect because "Vikingtown Sound" changed as each new vinyl was played in the store, so it made the progression unpredictable.

Tyrone's thoughts changed to the music, and the world provided him reminders to the goal he had in mind. Mayhem inadvertently manipulated and pushed the plot in a certain direction toward the heroes.

Hopefully, the heroes find a way to use this to takedown Andre in the future.

Bellamy Blake - The 100

Speaking of Andre, this mystical lock could lead to nothing but pain and chaos in New Orleans.

If Chantelle, who is clairvoyant and wise beyond her years, warns you to not do something, you need to listen! Her senses picked up on all the evil and negativity emanating from Andre and the sigil. That hesitation must've been why she resisted telling him the truth of the lock.

Though by warning him, she might've given him the push to try to unlock it.

Chantelle: I don’t recognize this vavey, but I know some of the pieces: the bridge, the stars, the water. They mean anything to you?

Andre: Very much so.

Chantelle: Exploring it has a lot of meaning here.

Andre: And if I should do that, it will open a lock? Open a door?

Chantelle: That would be my best guess. Throughout history, there have been a few who have ascended to become a Loa.

Andre: So, a Loa will feel no pain? My headaches will be gone?!

Chantelle: Among other things, but there is another path: leave it locked, walk away.

🔗 permalink: Leave it locked. Walk away.

Andre wants to release his pain, but he also has a big enough ego to want to become a "god." He'll do whatever it takes to open the door and let the power flow through him.

I have a feeling the sigil has something to do with Tandy and Tyrone. The design has all the markings of the original explosion: the night sky, the bridge, and the lake. Since they all got infected at the same time, their combination of light and dark could be the key.

The fall of the motel won't be the last we'll see of their conflict.

Last Thoughts From The Dream World:

 • Is Chantelle dead or will she be how Mayhem gets freed from the Darkforce?

 • Lia's backstory was infuriating! She knows exactly what the kidnapped girls are going through, but she willingly takes part in hunting them down. I can't even with her.

 • Olivia Holt did a great job capturing Tandy's hopelessness and despair. She looked like a shell of her former self as she sat waiting for the rapist.

 • Also, Lia dressing up Tandy like an innocent little girl might be the grossest thing Marvel's Cloak & Dagger has ever done.

 • Tyrone's abundance of shadows pulled me in with its marvelous effect and shocking cliffhanger!

Someone is playing the trumpet in one of the motel rooms. Tandy is lying unconscious on the bed.

Tyrone and Brigid deduce that Tandy fought the drug dealers in the grow house.

Andre reveals to Tandy that the only way he can survive is to share his pain with others. She can't channel her powers without hope; Andre left her with only darkness and emptiness.

Connors is tied to a chair in Adina's kitchen. Adina plans to cook something to work out her anger and stress over having Connors near. She might kill him if she can't stand the sight of him.

Lia introduces Tandy to Dell, another girl trapped in the motel. The kidnapped girls are living without hope and working as maids/slaves for the group. The girls have been brainwashed to not leave the motel.

Tyrone searches the community center and bumps into Andre. Andre won't help Tyrone contact Lia or reach out to Tandy. Tyrone shakes his hand and experiences a bad feeling of Andre; Andre plays a record trying to manipulate Tyrone to resent Tandy.

Dell tells Tandy about her family abandoning her and how the other girls don't get to see Andre's room much.

Connors tells Adina about how he ended up at the dock and the aftermath of contacting the senator to help him. He notices a utensil on the kitchen table.

Andre explores Tyrone's vinyls and it leads him to Chantelle. He aks her to explain the marking in Tyrone's mind. In the record store, Mayhem watches him from behind a wall.

Tandy tries to escape, but one of the guards stops her before she can leave. Dell snitched on her to Lia. As punishment, Dell blew smoke from her hit onto Tandy's face.

Connors tries to take the corkscrew, but Otis and Adina arrive to break it up. Adina wants to know where Connors hid Billy's body.

Mayhem removes the negative vinyl from the record player; she plays something more uplifting in Tyrone's mind. A streetcar of ballet dancers arrive.

In a drug-fueled haze, Lia tells Tandy about how she met Andre. Lia dresses up Tandy and leaves her on a bed.

Mayhem plays a vinyl that makes Tyrone hear and see many ambulances.

Chantelle is hesitant to tell Andre what the marker means; she sees through his lies. He grabs her to play a record, but he finds the record store a mess and Chantelle sitting in the store.

Chantelle says the marker is the lock toward being a god.

Tyrone spraypaints a giant sigil for Papa Legba. He teleports to one of the ambulance drivers and demands to know Tandy's location.

Dell warns Tandy that the girls who escaped are either killed or locked up. Tandy reveals that she saved all the girls who were supposed to arrive days earlier.

Chantelle warns Andre that he should leave the lock alone and walk away; she doesn't think he can show mercy. Andre resists the urge to harm her.

Adina doesn't believe Connors when he says that he doesn't know about Billy. She breaks down because she just wants to bury her son. Connors reveals that he buried Billy in a horse stall at the fairground.

Chantelle is unconscious on the floor as a vinyl plays with the marking on it.

Dell steals the guard's phone. She discovers the truth about the kidnapped girls and that her mother had placed missing flyers around the city.

As Dell stands up to Lia, Tandy overhears and gains hope again. She draws her dagger when one of the patrons plans to rape her. Tandy beats up the rapist and knocks out Lia.

Tyrone causes the ambulance to crash into the motel. Tandy and Tyrone go through the motel and beat up the rapists and guards to free the girls.

Mayhem plays vinyls in the record store and destroys a bunch of them.

Tyrone collapses as his body overflows with shadows. They inadvertently teleport back to the church.

Tandy's latest adventure brought her face-to-face against her version of Freddy Krueger. (Without the sharp knives and burned face, of course.)

The mind is a powerful world, and Andre knew exactly how to manipulate its ability on Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 6.

Just like Tandy, we were brought deeper into each new layer of her dreams and her nightmares. But just like a nightmare, this trip took us on a wild ride.

Cheers! - Tall - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 6
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

"B Sides" pleasantly shattered the fear of this becoming a filler episode.

With the entire story taking place in the mind, the progression of Cloak and Dagger Season 2's plot looked like it would be taking a break for the week. Plus, the "What if?" scenarios would've been the perfect way to fill the hour with interesting scenes until the main story returned.

Tandy's first encounter with the "perfect day" eased us into a sense of calm.

It presented a red herring that the focus of her journey would be in this alternate timeline. And that she would need to overcome her demons to save herself from the ambulance.

But, as she moved through each new scenario that kept getting worse, the reality of there being a sinister reason involved became an unsettling discovery. Not just the fact that she got kidnapped, but that someone manipulated her mind.

I liked that Tandy's journey through these realities had a significant purpose for the development of the overarching story.

We discovered the Big Bad, reunited with a few forgotten characters, and Tandy got to the core of what she held deep within her heart. Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 6 made big and essential strides for the progression of a co-lead.

Keeping Connors Close - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 6
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

Visually, the use of the ambulance props was a nice touch to show Tandy's struggle against Andre's powers.

Whenever she got closer toward breaking free or when the world was at its weakest, an element appeared to give her a hint of the truth. Like, the ambulance doors on the oil rig or the appearance of the ambulance during the car chase.

The best was when the screen flashed in tones of red, blue, and purple. The scene subconsciously sent out its warning signs of the real danger hiding underneath.

Her intuition and powers were giving her the hints that something was amiss. If Lia hadn't kept drugging her or Andre didn't manipulate her mind, Tandy would've been able to wake up and escape.

Andre may be strong, but Tandy is stronger!

The 100

Similar to the ambulance visual cues, the merging of the worlds created an interesting stylistic theme.

As Tandy fought against Lia and Andre's drugging, the lines between realities blurred. Worlds mixed, and elements of one nightmare found its way into the other.

Related: Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 4 Review: Rabbit Hold

These subtle changes perfectly symbolized Tandy's growing fight against her captors. While this trope has gotten done in the past on other TV shows, the inclusion worked well here as it supported Andre's nefarious motives.

He wanted Tandy to breakdown and slowly go crazy as she progressed through each world. Each new layer of these nasty realities continued to chip away at her until there was only darkness.

It's a satisfying effect that worked due to the sum of its parts.

Lost In Thoughts - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 6
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

Tandy's perfect day, which got introduced during Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 5, had all the heartwarming drama elements to bring the feels. I would say this dream was their "This Is Us" moment. (Lots of emotional scenes to tug the heartstrings, but mostly tears.)

Everything seemed too good to be true, and everyone was basking in the bliss of their perfect lives.

What's sad about this reality is that this could've happened if only a few things had changed.

Tandy: I couldn’t swim to shore by myself, but you saw me. Nine years old and you dove in to save some random girl. You saved my whole family in the process.

Tyrone: Okay, you’re over-hyping it.

Tandy: I’m not! That whole crash made my folks get their s*** together. I mean now look at them. You saved us and you STILL want to keep on giving.

Tyrone: So?

Tandy: So, compared to that, what am I doing with my life?

Tyrone: Right, “Prima Ballerina” hasn’t accomplished anything?!

Tandy: Ha-ha.

🔗 permalink: Right, “Prima Ballerina” hasn’t accomplished anything?!

Tandy could've become the professional ballerina, and Tyrone could've joined the police force. He might've ended up with Evita without any drama. Tyrone's parents would still be together, and Tandy's parents could've worked out their issues.

An alternate world where everything worked out for the heroes.

The "light" timeline had everything Tandy wished for in her life, but it would always be out of reach. She's working toward her dance career, so hopefully, she'll be able to dance for the New York City Ballet one day.

Return of a Friend - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 6
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

The encounter with the racists and misogynists in the store was an intense moment. Even though it was a hidden nightmare created by Andre, this moment earned a spot on Marvel's Cloak and Dagger's Top 5 most intense confrontations.

Everything escalated quickly once the racist saw Tyrone's police-issued gun.

What I like about this superhero TV show is that it doesn't shy away from real issues or the hurdles its characters are faced with on an ongoing basis. Even in Tandy's "perfect day," evil still reared its ugly head and proved that nothing is ever perfect.

I can't wait until real-life Tandy and Tyrone get their payback with a bit of harsh justice — and punches.

Barry Talks About Reverse Flash - The Flash Season 5 Episode 10

You could tell that Andre's plan to breakdown Tandy was thought out and a calculated move based on the progression of the alternate realities. Each one became darker and unsettling as the hour moved on.

The second reality came across as the more realistic-but-negative reality. A world where Tandy entered the engineering field like her father, Mina ended up working at Roxxon (and hating it!), and Tyrone took a job at the oil rig seemed like a feasible outcome.

Nothing was perfect or happy. Life moved forward with all the bitterness and anger influenced by the people who hurt them (i.e., Nathan and Billy).

Mina: Was I subtle? You’re not welcome!

Tandy: You’re putting your whole crew in danger.

Mina: Who the hell do you think you are?!

Tandy: Look, Mina, you gotta listen to me…

Mina: Why do you keep talking to me like you know me? What? Nathan Bowen’s little princess gets to act like we’re best friends?!

Tandy: No … no, I don’t know why but…

Mina: My name is “Dr. Hess” as far as you’re concerned.

🔗 permalink: My name is “Dr. Hess” as far as you’re concerned.

A world where Mina is hateful and bitter is not a scenario that I would want to live in.

Her anger toward Tandy came from a place of transference; in this nightmare, she most likely has a grudge against Nathan Bowen. The fact that she disregarded all of Tandy's warnings before the place went into chaos didn't seem like her at all.

Reunited (And It Feels So Good) - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 6
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

The third world reflected closer to Tandy's previous life before she met Tyrone. Whereas I didn't believe Tyrone would be hijacking a car with a screwdriver (his pre-Tandy life was on the straight and narrow), Tandy could've still been a con artist and pickpocketer.

Had she not turned things around with Melissa, this reality had all the elements of her previous future.

The biggest surprise was seeing Liam again. Will we ever see him again outside of the dream or is he gone for good?

As a clean-cut preppy guy, he looked even cuter. And he would make a great match with Michayla if they gave it a chance. (But that's neither here nor there.)

Hopefully, Liam returns in the future. There needs to be closure to his story with Tandy before she moves on to Tyrone.

Liam took off without a trace; there must be an update about what happened to him.

Missing Friend - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 6
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

Andre’s reveal as one of the Big Bads wasn't surprising. Once Lia emerged as a villain, the connection to Andre seemed like an inevitability.

Though, what was shocking was Andre having supernatural powers too, like Tandy and Tyrone.

Tandy: So, what? You get inside peoples’ heads? Make them feel pain so it can take away yours?

Andre: Ninety percent of the time, the people that come my way are helped. I give them counseling, choices, shelter … but the other 10%, they can’t be helped. So they help me.

Tandy: You’re despicable.

🔗 permalink: You’re despicable.

For all we knew, the pair were the only ones who got infected from the initial Roxxon oil rig explosion. But with this discovery, this could mean that other people are hiding in New Orleans with superpowers.

The city could be beaming with enemies ready to take on Cloak, Dagger, Mayhem, and Brigid. I love the potential for this storyline.

23 Ships Almost Everyone Can Agree On

Andre's power suited his hidden agenda.

With the ability to create pain and darkness, he could easily prey on the weak and helpless to heal his wounds. He drained all their hopes and left them with only nothingness and sorrow.

He is the epitome of hopelessness. And, he's a smart and intelligent criminal too.

Andre: It’s too late. He’s dead.

Tandy: I’m so sorry!

Andre: I’m sorry too. He’d still be alive if you hadn’t brought him into this. You hurt everyone you touch. Now is the time to give up before you hurt someone else.

[Tandy hands Andre her white dagger]

🔗 permalink: You hurt everyone you touch.

Manufacturing the last-minute vinyl in the Darkforce to manipulate Tandy's fears was absolutely genius! He knew exactly how to toy with her emotions and make her give up.

The entire scene of him "killing" Tyrone cemented his position as a puppet master. Regardless of Tandy nearly escaping, he thought on his feet and figured out how to achieve his desired result.

I'm not cheering or celebrating the villain here, but he mastered how to manipulate people. Tandy trapped in the darkness summed up his powerful levels of manipulation.

He is the most dangerous enemy that Tandy and Tyrone have faced yet. (Nothing against Connors and Scarborough, but they played in a sandbox compared to this.)

Where Are You? - Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 6
(Alfonso Bresciani/Freeform)

Last Thoughts From The Dream World:

 • Since Andre and Lia's hideout is at the motel, could the rest of the kidnapped girls have been under Mayhem's nose this whole time?

 • Adina has a great singing voice!

 • I was waiting for the moment for Tandy to break free from her restraints and fight Lia/Andre. "B Sides" focused heavily on building up toward this climax that never happened. Total red herring.

 • Tandy and Tyrone's connection broke the barrier every time they touched. Their bond might be stronger than Andre's power. Tandy will need to remember this for the future.

 • Regardless of the scenario, Tyrone and Tandy always found their way back to each other. Their tender friendship always makes their scenes together even better.
