Get ready to explore the seamier side of the tech industry.

AMC announced today that it's developing an as-yet-untitled drama about the high-stakes world of Silicon Valley billionaires.

The show is the brainchild of one of the TV world's most respected writers, Jonathan Glatzer.

Glatzer's credits include such acclaimed dramas as Succession, Better Call Saul, and Bloodline.

According to a press release issued today, "The series is set inside the bubble of Silicon Valley, amid misguided corporate cultures, moony innovation labs and cutthroat private high schools."

"In our story, a scandal is sparked by the exploitation of personal data, which unravels out of a rift between a self-appointed 'inventor of the future' tech CEO and his self-serving 'performance psychologist,'" reads the announcement from AMC Networks.

"This act of corruption quickly spirals out of control for all involved, exposing the absurdities of ambition, corporate ethics, and the fallibility of the people who are shaping the future of our world.

“Get ready for a captivating, enthralling, authentic look behind the curtain of Silicon Valley,” added Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks.

“Jonathan is a massive talent, and AMC is lucky to be the home of this, his first series creation brought to life," McDermott continued.

"The show, which chronicles the lives of characters creating the world we will all inhabit, is right here and right now. Truth is stranger than fiction, especially here.”

In his own comments, Glatzer made it clear that he will not be further inflating the egos of the Elon Musks and Mark Zuckerbergs of the world.

“The tech world and the future it is offering is in the hands of some frighteningly self-involved people,” Glatzer said.

”They radiate a bizarre, semi-deity-like energy, but even they cannot escape their own humanity. So rather than do something directly about ‘tech,’ I wanted to focus on the people," he continued.

”And not just the titans, but the antsy wannabe titans, the kids and spouses of the wannabes; their housekeepers, their schools, their psychiatrists, their dogs and gurus alike, all of them living in this bubble where they truly believe — and perhaps rightly — they are inventing the future, dogs excepted.

"I couldn’t be more thrilled to be doing this with AMC," Glatzer went on.

"At a time when networks are looking for fastballs and strikes, I gave them a darkly comedic curveball, and to their tremendous credit, they have given me nothing but the greatest support a writer could ask for.”

Dark comedy and a character-driven approach elevated Succession above the horde of big business shows and films to make it one the richest and most compelling series of the 21st century.

In other words, we're more than a little excited about the idea of Glatzer giving Silicon Valley the same treatment.

A look at some of our favorite legal practitioners in TV history, from defense attorneys to litigators and anybody else you can count on to stick up for the little guy.

"If there's one thing America needs, it's more lawyers." Lionel Hutz, defense attorney

There may not be a setting more suited to English-language television than the courtroom.

Applying the real-world rule of law to hypothetical cases dreamed up by the writers, from the tragic to the preposterous, underlines the drama in ways unique to the courtroom genre and makes champions of those who defend the wrongly (or not so wrongly) accused.

Lionel Hutz requests a bad court thingy - The Simpsons
(Disney)

Right or wrong, innocent or guilty, these are the law-talkin' guys and gals we'd want to have on our side in a court of law.

Ben Matlock, Matlock

The main cast of Matlock, season 1
(Viacom)

If you're counting down TV's best defense lawyers, this one's obligatory. Ben Matlock, portrayed by TV legend Andy Griffith, wrote the playbook for dramatic reveals and turnarounds in front of the jury.

Matlock blurred the line between detective show and courtroom procedural as he would clear his clients by calling perpetrators to the stand and walking them right into a confession.

Matlock's record as a defense attorney is unimpeachable, but what we really like about this guy is he doesn't charge you if you're broke!

Kim Wexler, Better Call Saul

The most important thing to remember about Kim Wexler, played by Rhea Seehorn in an era-defining performance, is that she quit her high-profile corporate lawyer gig to work pro bono, defending the disadvantaged and underprivileged residents of New Mexico.

Kim Wexler from Better Call Saul
(Sony/AMC)

To call her "incorruptible" might be a stretch, given the sometimes felonious mischief she and Jimmy McGill got up to, but for the most part she kept true to her calling as a public defender, displaying a degree of moral fortitude rarely glimpsed in Vince Gilligan's comprehensively corrupt Albuquerque.

Charlie Kelley, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has more than a few attorneys to choose from. Ask us a few seasons ago, and we would have gone with the unnamed Lawyer who scammed the gang out of the merchandising rights for Paddy's Pub.

But when push came to shove, the Lawyer ultimately lost the only case against the gang that he ever had gone to trial, owing to the mental duress of his ongoing divorce (and the rather frequent torment the gang themselves put him through).

Charlie Kelley, attorney at law - It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
(Disney)

If you want the best legal representation in Philadelphia, you'll have to go with the guy who out lawyered him there, none other than Charlie Kelley (Charlie Day)… If your case involves birds, that is.

And if you're not too hung up on trivialities like law degrees and passing the bar.

Denny Crane, Boston Legal

It's hard to pick a favorite defender on Boston Legal. Still, when things get desperate, your back is against the wall, and you need someone who's not afraid to put their whole reputation on the line with a hail mary pass, you're gonna want someone like Will Shatner's Denny Crane in your corner.

Denny Crane from Boston Legal
(Disney)

One might expect Crane's early onset dementia to be a professional compromise, but, as illustrated on the classic episode "Son of the Defender," which sees him strapped to an explosive vest and forced to rehash his first trial, Denny's condition inspires him with a fearless and unwavering integrity.

In the face of disbarment, ridicule, incarceration, and even certain death, he'll fight for his clients and for what he thinks is right, and that's exactly who you want defending you in a court of law when you're running out of options.

Ann Kelsey, L.A. Law

You could put the names of every McKenzie, Brackman, Chaney, and Kuzak attorney in a hat, pull one without looking, and get excellent representation.

But it may have been Jill Eikenberry as Ann Kelsey who was most frequently called on to cite precedent, rulings, and constitutional rights at a moment's notice.

Ann Kelsey on L.A. Law
(Disney)

Check out "P.S. Your Shrink is Dead," where Kelsey dismantles an immigration arrest on the spot, or "Justice Swerved," when she instructs a client on how to handle a trumped-up DUI charge as he's being dragged into the police cruiser.

So much of a criminal case depends on how you respond to being pulled over, cuffed, and arrested, and Kelsey will make sure you don't hang yourself with all that rope the arresting officer was kind enough to give you.

Matt Murdock, Daredevil

Look, who else is gonna put on some red pajamas and go beat people up to prove your innocence? Exactly. That's what makes Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock so good at his job.

Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock - Daredevil
(Netflix)

Old Man Waterfall, Futurama

As much as we'd like to include Lionel Hutz on this list, he's just as likely to land you in jail as he is to score you a juicy settlement.

The most qualified attorney from a Matt Groening show would have to be the Phil Hendrie voiced Old Man Waterfall, the 97-year-old bisexual polygamist Satanist veteran of several intergalactic wars.

A fierce patriot, Waterfall nevertheless put his personal feelings on the flag aside to defend Zoidberg's right to eat it, and he actually won the case.

Old Man Waterfall takes the stand - Futurama Season 3 Episode 5
(Disney)

As ridiculous a character as he may be, Waterfall represents a cornerstone principle of constitutional law, ultimately proving his willingness to die for Zoidberg's right to express unpopular ideas.

Though officially KIA during the invasion of the lobster people, Waterfall thankfully has a son, a grandson, two great-grandsons, and a great-granddaughter to fill the one-legged lawyer's remaining shoe.

Jackie Chiles, Seinfeld

If you want to hold big business' feet to the fire, Seinfeld's Jackie Chiles, portrayed by Phil Morris, should be your go-to guy.

Jackie Chiles enjoys a cigar - Seinfeld
(Disney)

Famously inspired by Johnnie Cochran, the fast-talking advocate for consumer and employee rights admittedly might not have the most impressive track record when it comes to the cases he's pushed on behalf of client Cosmo Kramer.

But it should be noted that that's only because Kramer is so frequently willing to take the first settlement offer or otherwise sabotage his own legal efforts. Who told him to put a balm on it, anyway?

Rafael Barba, Law & Order: SVU

A lawyer who fights for you isn't always going to be a defense attorney. Sometimes, it's an Assistant District Attorney like Rafael Barba (Raul Esparza) of Law & Order: SVU who will see that justice is done on your behalf.

Raul Barba holds court - Law & Order: SVU
(2012 NBCUniversal Media, LLC)

Barba makes the list for being the best prosecutor the show has ever had, but also for the simple fact that he's so much fun to watch.

He's confrontational when he needs to be, evasive when that'll do the trick, and always employing a kind of verbal sleight of hand in order to secure a conviction, taking witnesses and suspects through an emotional journey before revealing his motives.

Mickey Haller, Lincoln Lawyer

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, the titular Lincoln Lawyer, running a law firm from the back of his 1963 Lincoln Continental and a pair of Navigators, is a guy who's been on the other side of the law more than once, having overcome addiction before practicing law.

The Lincoln Lawyer himself
(Netflix)

There are plenty of lawyers who will fight for you, but given his criminal history, Haller is in a unique position to actually understand his clients.

Is hating another person bad? Hate is a double-edged sword that can help or destroy a person. Check out our list of characters who let hate power them up.

The post TV’s Best Hate-Driven Relationships appeared first on TV Fanatic.

]]>
Someone said: it's a thin line between love and hate. And as much as we love love, hate is a pure emotion that can be as destructive as love.

Hate must usually be checked; otherwise, it can become someone's downfall. But sometimes, it can be a driving force that helps someone better themselves.

Characters hate each other on TV all the time, and it's what makes for good drama and storyline.

Collage - P-Valley, Billions, and Cobra Kai
(Starz/Showtime/Netflix)

We have compiled twenty characters who hated another character or each other so much that it had our hearts racing every time they interacted.

20. Ray Donovan vs. Mickey Donovan on Ray Donovan

Some people have no business bringing new life into this world, and if there was ever such a person, according to Ray, it was his dad, Mickey.

Mickey was the walking definition of a bad father. He was abusive, promiscuous, and a total deadbeat grifter.

All these qualities affected his children so much that each one had a huge tragedy befall them. What irked Ray the most was how he was forced to grow up quickly to protect the other children.

It would escalate quickly when they were near other Ray had to be stopped multiple times before he killed Mickey.

19. James St. Patrick vs. Kanan Stark on Power

Both characters were not good people by most means, but James hated Kanan passionately.

Growing up together in Queens, they were boys, but it all went south when Kanan was arrested because of James.

James hated that Kanan was impulsive and very casual about committing murder.

It all came to a head when Kanan tried to recruit James' son into their trade — drugs.

18. Benji vs. Rahim on Love, Victor

This was just a classic tale of romantic rivalry.

Both were in love with Victor, but Benji felt like he had a bigger claim because he was there first. He once saw Rahim kiss Victor, which was the nail in the coffin.

Although they made up later, it was fun to see Benji reach the end of his rope every time he saw Rahim or he was mentioned.

17. Leonardo Da Vinci vs. Michelangelo on Leonardo

Leonardo 2018 Hd Poster
(RAI)

Yes, it is those people. A few shows have featured these characters, but we will focus on Leonardo (2018) because it highlights the rivalry perfectly.

Leonardo and Michaengelo existed in times when art was the thing.

It didn't help that society was constantly comparing them, and with Michangelo being younger, Leonardo felt like unfair standards were judging him.

16. Hope Mikaelson vs. Malivore on Legacies

Hope was one of her kind. In the show's universe, no one like her had existed. She was a hybrid who was also immortal and a living weapon of mass destruction for all factions.

Malivore was some aberration that could destroy Hope without dying.

Effectively, Hope's prerogative was to make sure Malivore didn't exist. It required some fear and a lot of hate.

15. Villanelle vs. Eve on Killing Eve

Villanelle's thing was that she was an assassin, and Eve's thing was that she was a really good cop.

Eve had foiled multiple assassination attempts by Villanelle, which was bad for business.

With all the hate she could muster, Villanelle went after Eve but found the tables turned when she fell for her.

14. Bruce Wayne vs. The Joker on Gotham

Bruce had designated himself the resident vigilante in Gotham. The Joker had designated himself the resident villain.

Bruce had spent his entire life trying to find out who murdered his parents, and the joker knew that was a sore spot. He kept pressing on it.

This resulted in hate developing organically in Bruce, and his hunt for The Joker was a tale that spun multiple seasons.

13. Saul Goodman and Hamlin on Better Call Saul

Saul was a lowly lawyer whom the more upscale lawyers didn't like. Hamlin was one such upscale lawyer.

Hamlin took every chance to embarrass Saul, whether in front of colleagues or Saul's brother.

Saul developed a lot of hate for Hamlin, and it was almost satisfying when Hamlin was murdered right in front of his eyes.

12. Baba Voss vs Tamacti Jun on See

Set in a world where sight was deemed an abomination, the world set these characters on an epic collision course.

Tamacti Jun's life's work was finding and killing sighted people. Baba Voss' children were some of the most famous sighted children.

Although the universe later aligned their cause, the hate Baba Voss had for Tamacti Jun and the witchfinders, in general, couldn't be quantified.

11. Uncle Clifford vs. Hailey on P-Valley

Uncle Clifford must have a rule number somewhere for the girls who betray them.

And no one betrayed Uncle Clifford more than Hailey. She wanted to sell the inheritance their mother had left them.

That was reason enough to hate the heifer, and chile did Uncle Clifford read her the house down.

10. Nicky Shen and Zhilan on Kung Fu

Nicky had fought many bad people before, but none were as powerful as Zhilan.

Nicky was dedicated to saving people's lives in her community, whether literally or otherwise. And Zhilan was an assassin who murdered her Shifu.

A Shifu is important to their student, and the act Zhilan committed rocked Nicky's world.

She developed so much hate for Zhilan it nearly consumed her.

09. Layton vs. Wilford on Snowpiercer

Class was the definitive divider in this epic tale set inside moving trains.

Layton was the leader of the lower class, while Waterford had lorded himself over everyone. Wilford was an awful person who made an even worse leader.

Layton could not stand most of the things Wilford did, and he developed so much hate for the man. It was what pushed him to try and bring equality to the classes.

08. Bette Porter vs. Carrie on The L Word Generation Q

Everyone knows it. It's Bette and Tina forever. And subconsciously, Bette and Carrie knew it.

Bette was not perfect by any means, and it hurt her when Tina divorced her and was engaged to Carrie. Carrie could feel hate emanating from Bette every time she was around.

On being confronted about it, Bette made her feelings known. But was it Carries fault she couldn't be a better wife to Tina?

07. Major Stanislaus vs. Frank Sobotka on The Wire

Some hate comes from a stupid place, and Major's hatred for Frank was so childish it was almost hilarious.

Catholics take their offerings seriously; no one did it more than Stanislaus. He donated a gift to the church only to discover Frank had donated a much more expensive gift.

He was angry at why a mere dock worker could afford such an expensive gift than a police major, and he developed some hate for Frank.

He channeled that hate into uncovering where Frank's irregular wealth came from, and even when Frank wasn't associated with corruption at the docks, Major still wanted him arrested for something.

06. Sam LaRusso vs. Tori Nichols on Cobra Kai

Many characters in Cobra Kai are driven by hate. It started as a subtle rivalry between dojos and escalated to bullying.

Sam and Tori were viewed as the Queen Bee of their respective dojos, but there could only be one queen in the valley.

Hate started developing between them when boys came into the mix, and every interaction resulted in a small fight or an epic brawl.

Sam had a point to make, and Tori was not one to back down.

05. Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin on Joe Vs. Carole

Joe's hate for Carole could also not be quantified.

Based on the true story of Joe Exotic — a big cat owner — and Carole Baskin — an animal rights activist — is something anyone with a Netflix account knew of in the 2020s.

Joe hated Carole so much that he would make up stories about her killing her husband and broadcasting it to the internet.

Hate was his undoing when he hired someone to murder Carole and was caught red-handed.

04. Miguel Diaz vs. Robby Keene on Cobra Kai

The hate between Miguel and Robbie was a complicated affair.

Like Sam and Tori, it started as a dojo rivalry that escalated with each season until it became hate.

In one of the many fights between the dojos, Robbie broke Miguel's backbone resulting in an injury that set Miguel back years. Miguel developed a lot of hate for Robbie, who reciprocated the feelings, and to hash it out, they fought.

Even though they became half-brothers later on, their hate for each other will always blemish their relationship.

03. Beth Dutton vs. Jamie Dutton on Yellowstone

It always seemed unfair how much Beth hated Jamie.

Her hatred stemmed from many reasons, but the primary one was how Jamie had her sterilized without her knowledge.

Apart from ruining lives, making Jamie's life a living hell might be the only reason Beth got up in the morning.

02. Bobby Axelrod vs. Chuck on Billions

There was always something about billionaires that rubbed Chuck the wrong way. And having a political office behind him, he made it his mission to throw Bobby behind bars.

Bobby couldn't stand Chuck's holier than though attitude, and he also sought to uncover skeletons in Chuck's closet.

This gave birth to an epic rivalry spanning years as each tried to best the other.

01. June Osborne vs. Selena Waterford on The Handmaid's Tale.

Even in a world that sought to ensure women were powerless, some had more power than others.

June was the maid to the Waterford, and with Selena's little power, she ensured that June knew her position. She oversaw multiple atrocities committed on June and was even the instigator of some.

June developed a hate for Gilead but particularly for Selena, who stole her child. Words cannot quantify how much June wanted to see Selena and Gilead burn to ashes.

Better Call Saul may be over, but series creator Vince Gilligan is already prepping his next series.

Apple TV+ announced Thursday that Gilligan had closed a deal to bring a new project to fruition.

However, the only information we have is that Better Call Saul breakout Rhea Seehorn is attached.

Oh, and because Gilligan has a proven track record with hits, Apple TV+ has offered up a two-season order.

It's cool to go into a show knowing its fate has already been decided.

“After fifteen years, I figured it was time to take a break from writing antiheroes… and who’s more heroic than the brilliant Rhea Seehorn?” Gilligan said in a statement.

“It’s long past time she had her own show, and I feel lucky to get to work on it with her. And what nice symmetry to be reunited with Zack Van Amburg, Jamie Erlicht and Chris Parnell! Jamie and Zack were the first two people to say yes to Breaking Bad all those years ago."

"They’ve built a great team at Apple, and my wonderful, long-time partners at Sony Pictures Television and I are excited to be in business with them.”

Seahorn is coming off her six-season stint as Kim Wexler on the Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul.

The hit drama series wrapped this summer on AMC, concluding with its best numbers in years and rave reviews.

Gilligan and his team brought Better Call Saul to a close, making it one of the best series finales ever.

That is not an easy feat, but it's a testament to Gilligan's craft.

The series is likely very early in the development stage, so there's a good chance we'll wait a while before we get more details.

Breaking Bad spinoff aired it's series finale with a very satisfying ending. Our review goes into detail about the show and potential spinoffs set in the same uinverse.

The final episode of Better Call Saul, titled "Saul Gone," brings to a halt the live-action version of a universe that hit the asphalt well over ten years ago.

We have had the pleasure of watching a story that we found entertaining, thrilling, and hilarious more often than once.

Better Call Saul has successfully cemented the Breaking Bad universe as one of the most popular television universes. Continuing the legacy of Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul has been a great addition.

Jimmy and Mike Landscape - Better Call Saul
(Greg Lewis/AMC/Sony Pictures Television)

Like its predecessor, the show captures the spirit of the decade it was set in. It may invoke nostalgia for many people with constant references to the culture of the 2000s.

The show also toys with the format of characters that one cannot term as either villains or heroes. They are just people who find themselves in circumstances where they must do what they must do.

Jimmy in a desert. - Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 13
(Greg Lewis/AMC/Sony Pictures Television;)

On Better Call Saul, however, the main character is a bit ambiguous in his moral standing. His morality is a result of an inferiority complex and colossal greed.

You can never know where Jimmy stands. Or you can, depending on who you meet on a given day.

Is it Jimmy McGill — dedicated brother, small-time con man, and struggling lawyer; or Saul Goodman — master manipulator, con man, and criminal mastermind, or Gene — a man stuck in the past who can't scratch his criminal itch enough?

Throughout six seasons, we have seen the evolution of an intelligent man struggling to make ends meet into an architect of more than one criminal enterprise.

But how did this happen?

The show's early seasons dealt heavily with the relationship between Jimmy and his brother Chuck. Chuck, according to Jimmy, was the most brilliant lawyer he'd ever met. That must be true, considering that the man had his name in the name of a prestigious law firm.

Jimmy always admired him and wanted to be like him. Chuck would not give him the time of day, however.

According to Chuck, Jimmy is less than a mediocre man with questionable morality. He can lie and manipulate with the ease of a man respirating. With his faltering morality and ease with casual disregard of the law, there is no man Chuck deems as unworthy as Jimmy.

This rocky relationship is what made Jimmy an even bigger crook. He always wanted to prove to Chuck that he was good enough and could be better than Chuck ever was.

Jimmy has a proper moral crisis when he realizes that his success is predicated on destroying his brother's reputation and consequently destroying him.

Jimmy in a bus - Better Call Saul

When Chuck commits suicide due to Jimmy's actions, it's the final straw. He graduates from Slippin' Jimmy to full-on criminal Jimmy.

Later seasons dealt with the relationship between Jimmy and Kim Wexler. They track the progress of their relationship from colleagues to friends, lovers, spouses, partners in crime, and eventually exes. Their relationship is one of the few that incentivizes Jimmy to change. But a leopard cannot erase its spots.

Between trying to form a reputable practice and cultivating solid relationships, Jimmy meets many characters along the way. From the highly immoral management of Sandpiper Crossing to the killers of the drug cartel and the chicken man, all these people help make Jimmy into Saul Goodman.

In this show, we also dive deeper into other characters in the universe. Chief among them is Gustavo Fring. We saw his strategic rise as a drug lord under the guise of a fast-food master. Gus was one of the most ruthless characters ever in the shows.

Saul Goodman deep in thought. - Better Call Saul
(Greg Lewis/AMC/Sony Pictures Television;)

We also learned more about Mike — a dedicated grandfather, parking assistant, and an occasional murderer.

Better Call Saul Season 6 alternates between the present and future events, filling in some blank spaces as to what happened before and after Breaking Bad.

We learn that even after the drug empire came crashing down in Breaking Bad and everyone ran for their lives, Jimmy never changed. He evolved into Gene, committing crimes as before.

In the final episode, Jimmy is on the run. He doesn't last long, though. He is caught after a short while. While in jail, having lost all hope, he realizes that he is a lawyer and if there is anything that he is good at, it's manipulating the law to serve his purpose.

In another state, Kim is having a moral crisis of her own. After quitting law, she has settled into a nine-to-five routine, has another lover, and sits at lunch with her co-workers. However, she feels like an outsider looking in into her own life.

Kim Wexler Closeup - Better Call Saul
(Greg Lewis/AMC/Sony Pictures Television;)

This feeling prompts her to confess what happened to Howard Hamlin. It leaves her exposed.

Elsewhere, Jimmy has managed to manipulate United States Attorneys into knocking down his sentence from life plus one hundred and ninety years into a mere seven years.

All he had to do was sign a plea agreement. He, however, learns of Kim's plight and does a complete turn.

Jimmy's actions in the courtroom are probably the most selfless he has ever been in his entire life. He didn't do this out of the kindness of his heart, though. He did it to save Kim. Maybe he did love her after all. He confesses to all his crimes and absolves Kim of all her potential crimes.

Jimmy in prison attire - Better Call Saul
(Greg Lewis/AMC/Sony Pictures Television;)

Kim becomes a volunteer lawyer helping women at risk.

Jimmy gets eighty years in prison. However, I got the feeling that he was going to be okay. With the many crooks he'd helped over the years? He even got kitchen duty in prison — baking.

He seems to be popular with other inmates. Who knows? He might be running it in a couple of years. Ultimately, this was one of the best series endings I have ever seen.

The creators didn't beat around the bush, leaving viewers dissatisfied. Objectively, the world was a better place without Jimmy in it. The world is better off without Walter, Lalo, Gus, and Nacho.

Gene on the run. - Better Call Saul
(Greg Lewis/AMC/Sony Pictures Television)

Creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould have said that they aren't planning on making any more Breaking Bad shows, but they are not also not going to make any more.

Which character would you like to get a prequel or a sequel? I know I would find a younger Gus to be interesting. Let us know in the comments. You can watch Better Call Saul online right here on TV Fanatic to relive the magic.

AMC's Better Call Saul wrapped up its six-season run with bumper ratings.

The cabler revealed Monday that the series-ender was the most-watched episode of the season with an audience of 2.7 million on AMC in Nielsen live+3 ratings, including 1.1 million adults 25-54 and many more watching on AMC+, where the final season remains the #1 acquisition driver in the history of the streaming service.

In live/same day viewing, the series finale was the most-watched episode on AMC since the season three finale on June 19, 2017, with 1.8 million viewers.

The numbers prove that the Breaking Bad franchise is still very much alive after all these years.

Better Call Saul is the #3 cable drama for the current broadcast season in key demos.

While many shows go out with less than stellar numbers and reviews, there has been much critical acclaim since the beginning.

Better Call Saul is currently nominated for seven Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Bob Odenkirk, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Rhea Seehorn and additional nominations in sound, music and writing categories.

“There has been so much said about this final season of Better Call Saul, so many accolades directed at this extraordinary piece of television – from viewers, critics and everyone else who knows what an accomplishment it is to deliver entertainment at this level," said Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks.

"I just want to cap this final season by saying thank you," the statement continues.

"Thanks to Peter and Vince and the entire creative team, including Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein. Thanks to Bob, Rhea, Jonathan, Giancarlo and the entire cast. Thanks to our partners at Sony and to every viewer who went along on this legendary ride."

“We are so proud to have been the home of Better Call Saul for all these years and unforgettable seasons. Now we put this series up on the mantel as a reminder of the excellence we all aspire to every day.”

Better Call Saul is over.

The hit Breaking Bad spinoff wrapped its six-season run Monday on AMC.

Bob Odenkirk took to Twitter following the shocking finale and shared a video to thank fans and co-workers.

“Thanks for giving us a chance, because we came out of maybe a lot of people’s most favorite show ever and we could have been hated for simply trying to do a show, but we were given a chance, and hopefully, we made the most of it,” Odenkirk said.

Odenkirk originated the role on Breaking Bad in 2009, and it's clear he has a lot of feelings about saying goodbye to the character of Saul Goodman.

"Everybody’s been asking me how I feel about saying goodbye to Saul Goodman and Better Call Saul, and I’m not good at answering the question because it’s frankly hard for me to look at that experience and even at that character too closely,” explained Odenkirk.

“It’s too many moving parts, and they fit together too beautifully, and it’s a mystery to me how it even happened,” he continued.

“I want to thank Vince Gilligan and Pete Gould… I did nothing to deserve this part, but I hope I earned it over six seasons.”

The star went on to thank co-stars and crew members on the successful series.

“I’ll never be around so many great people doing their jobs so well, I can’t imagine it.”

The Better Call Saul endgame has been planned for a while now, and the series ended while it was still creatively strong.

Many shows end too late, but Gilligan and Gould crafted a character that resonated with fans in a big way.

It remains to be seen whether the franchise will stage a comeback, but for now, we can take solace in the fact that it ended while it was still good.

The final season of Better Call Saul will feature a huge Breaking Bad connection.

Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, who starred as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman on Breaking Bad, are reprising their roles during Better Call Saul Season 6.

The news dropped Paleyfest, while AMC followed it up with a first-look photo.

Cranston and Paul last shared the screen on the Breaking Bad follow-up movie El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, which was released in 2019.

“I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say the first question we had when we started the show was, ‘Are we gonna see Walt and Jesse on the show?’ Instead of evading, I’ll just say yeah,” co-creator Peter Gould said on the Paleyfest panel.

“How or the circumstances or anything, you’ll just have to discover that for yourself, but I have to say that’s one of many things that I think you’ll discover this season.”

“If you can believe it, there’s more,” star Bob Odenkirk teased, but Gould interjected before he got a chance to tell fans what to expect, likely to avoid spoilers.

The final season is set to premiere April 18 on AMC and AMC+ and will bring the franchise full circle.

Vince Gilligan recently told Deadline that he would be putting this universe on pause for the foreseeable future.

”I love these characters, I love this world,” Gould said of a potential spinoff.

“Maybe someday, but personally I’m going to take a little break from that world and try something else, just to prove that I can.”

Said Gilligan: “I think that’s my answer too. There are stories left to tell, but it’s not proving something to the world, it’s about proving something to yourself."

"That thing I’m working on, hopefully someone will want to buy it, someone will want to make it.”
