The actor, who starred on ER as Dr. Peter Benton for most of that show’s highly-rated run, will recur on A Gifted Man as Evan Morrison, a neuropsychiatrist who The Hollywood Reporter describes as a “great medical detective who focuses on the nuances of human behavior.

La Salle will appear in at least four episodes of the drama.

The former Twilight star has joined the cast of A Gifted Man, an upcoming drama on CBS that focuses on a surgeon (played by Patrick Wilson), who starts seeing/communicating with his late ex-wife.

Lefevre – last seen on Off the Map – will portray a doctor named Kate. Look for her character to work at a family clinic where Michael starts spending a majority of his time, due to advice from his deceased former flame.
