Would like to see Bode and Audrey start dating.

With a 7-week break starting now, there’s plenty of time to cover all the bases. The next time I see Gabriella I want to see her serving time on indefinite leave, with reinstatement dependent upon progress made in therapy. The next time we actually “see” her she has already started therapy: Counselor: “I’m impressed, Gabriella, with your ability to get real me with me about the issues that are driving you crazy, as you put it. You’re ready to start a healing process we call cognitive behavioral therapy. The first step is you and I together are going identify thoughts, memories, words, and behaviors that seem to be toxic, beyond your control, hugely painful, and even simply stupid. The next step is the cognitive one–using your owh brain power to find practical solutions, with some guidance from me. So, let’s start with the universals of depression: isolation and loneliness.” Gabriella: “Fighting forest fires is a macho, dangerous profession. Testosterone driven, for sure. First in my shit is my father. He’s big on giving advice. The guy who’s alienated from my mom. Got himself fired from his dream job. I’ve got a fiance I left at the altar, and I’ve been sexually active with two ex-boy friends…” Counselor: Stop, Gabby. Think! What’s the common thread here?” Gabriella: You want me to say that its a “man problem”, but it’s really about how I am so unlovable.” Counselor: “Would you be shocked if told you are right on both counts? Hang with me now. What’s the opposite of ‘man’? What’s the opposite of ‘problem’?” Gabriella: “That’s an easy one: RuPaul and drag show! OK, OK. Sorry about that. Your talking a sisterhood kind of a deal, right? Eve’s cool, but Sharon’s a nut job, and I’ve only talked to Aubrey a couple times. But, yeah, it would be different to talk to them. If their problems are worse than mine, then great. I’d feel a little better. I could give them some bad advice for good people, and vice versa, too.”

Next time 90% fewer words about Bode’s situation

Normally it would be a turn-on but once you add borderline toxic masculinity and plain ol’ bitterness into the mix, and the thrill is gone.

Oh, and I’m not even gonna feel sorry for Gabriela anymore.
