This Fire Country Season 3 Episode 8 review breaks down the excitement of zombie fires and the probies' first day on the job.

Well, folks, that’s a wrap for 2024. Fire Country, along with most of our favorite shows, is now on fall break. As usual, the show left us with plenty of cliffhangers.

Fire Country Season 3 Episode 8 review analyzes its events and aftermath and what we might expect when the show returns in 2025.

Like most Bruckheimer productions, Fire Country Season 3 Episode 8 had plenty of action, heart-pounding terror, insubordination, and personal angst to tide us over through the holiday break.

Audrey and Bode look for an escape
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS )

And several of our favorite firefighters were left in mortal danger. Could we perhaps see the demise and exit of any of the Fire Country cast? We haven’t received word of anyone leaving the show.

Three seasons in, and we still have the same core characters, minus a few small roles from supporting characters like Cara, Freddy, and Rebecca.

The show has been building up to these events since the start, pushing each character through life predicaments that eventually affected how each of them reacted during the Fire Country Season 3 fall finale.

As a finale goes, this one was as good as any I’ve seen in the 2024 season, and it’s certainly miles better than the delayed seasonal start and shortened ten-episode second season.

And yet, despite how well the show did setting up its seasonal break so fans would stay in a state of intrigue and torment, there was a lot of UGH and OMG really’s from the episode itself. Really, the whole season.

Starting with the typical drama surrounding Gabriela. Go ahead and weigh in real quick, Fanatics, on the first exchange between Gabriela and Jake. It’s hard for this reviewer to decide which person is right.

Gabriela looks upset
(Eric Milner/CBS)

While Jake feels they should tell Bode about their drunken hook-up, Gabriela thinks that it’s none of his business, since they are not together.

But like Jake said, Bode is his best friend and Gabreila is his ex-obsession. However, like Gabs said, she was with Jake before Bode. So should they tell Bode or let it stay a drunken episode of no consequence?

Although this reviewer’s twisted mind could totally see that one lapse of judgement resulting in an unplanned pregnancy for Gabriela and Jake, who’s still tortured by the loss of Cara and the recent decision of Cara’s daughter to move in with her real father instead of Jake.

At first, Gabriela seemed to be doing better this episode, less hell-bent on beating herself to death and doing risky crap. Like father, like daughter.

(Eric Milner/CBS)

And then, we saw her mental status deteriorate, resulting in her disobeying direct orders from a superior, breaking the law, and being fully insubordinate. How many times does she get to yell at her boss (this time, it was Jake instead of Sharon) before she faces disciplinary action?

I’m on her side for helping out the desperate mother and child who ran out of gas while trying to evacuate. Their vehicle was the only home they had left, and it didn’t seem fair that they’d lose everything again.

Truthfully, this viewer probably would have done the same thing by siphoning the gas from the car parked in front of a fire hydrant. Criminal charges be damned.

But I can’t condone the rest of her behavior.

She seems to have a major problem separating her past from her job, often letting her personal experiences affect her performance. Something she frequently scolds Bode and her father for doing.

It was freaking amazing seeing Jake put Gabriela in her place. Her hissy fit response was typical of her self-indulgent pity party, where she wants everyone to feel bad for her situation despite the fact that where she’s at in life is all her own doing.

And then, as usual, she acts all melodramatically, stripping off her fire gear and walking off in the middle of a fire call. Only to end up meeting a wall of flames as she wandered aimlessly down the road.

(Eric Milner/CBS)

She says she’s done but done with what? Her actions are as clear as any resignation letter. Could we be saying goodbye to Gabriela Perez when the show returns?

Or maybe the Fire Country Season 3 finale is the end of the line for inmate firefighter Manny Perez. We’ve seen Manny experience a full 360 of his life since the first season.

He was once the captain of the Three Rock prison camp, mentoring Bode post-prison so he could be successful once released, only to flip places by Fire Country Season 3.

While Bode is a free man and now an official member of CalFire since Captain Camden Casey passed him in fire training in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7, Manny is now a firefighter inmate at Three Rock, with Eve as Captain.

Seeing Manny falling so far from his original redemption has been hard, but it’s been a great way to explore more of his character. Unfortunately, going back to prison seems to have dulled Manny’s righteousness.

He’s acted out of character several times during Fire Country Season 3, almost as if he’s given up on a future due to his setback.

Manny works a fire scene
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

Manny went from being my favorite character to an annoyance this season as he tries to make repairs with Gabriela while simultaneously expressing his self-anger at anyone around him.

He struggled in this episode between being a supportive first saw firefighter and being a sullen inmate pissed about doing time. Seeing him talk down Cole when he almost had words with Eve’s cousin was great.

Unfortunately, Manny is unlikely to be as willing to follow Cole’s advice about not going out on his own to find Gabriela.

The show ended with a cliffhanger involving him and Three Rock on the Edwards ranch, miles away from where Gabriela went missing. Due to her tantrum, she walked straight into a fire zone.

Manny just requested a parole hearing. Going AWOL during a fire call, even if it’s because his daughter is in danger, isn’t going to look good. Will the second half of Fire Country Season 3 have Manny stuck in prison longer for an “attempted escape,” or could Perez be the show’s first regular cast member to exit?

How did everyone like their first visit to the Edwards ranch? Geez, there was a lot of tension between the Edwards patriarch and everyone around him.

Elroy Edwards commands attention
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS )

Elroy Edwards was exactly as we expected when we found out Eve hadn’t talked to her family in six years. After meeting them, I understand why there’s discord there.

Seeing her go to bat for her crew against her father’s prejudice was great. He’s a stubborn old man who thinks Eve chose firefighting and the Leones over her family, both in the past and presently.

If you read our Fire Country Season 3 Episode 8 spoilers, I lamented how cool it would have been to see Eve on horseback, fighting fires. We saw her on horseback, so I half got my wish.

However, I’ll settle because it was so cool that she delivered a foal and had a moment with her dad.

But while she was playing rancher, she neglected her firefighting duties. Vince had to come out and check on things, ruining her progress. Elroy had multiple grievances against Vince and CFD.

Vince and Elroy watch the fire
(Eric Milner/CBS)

The two debated creating a backburn on the ranch to prevent the fire from spreading into Edgewater. Vince thought he had the authority to do it, even on private property. Elroy felt that he had the right to say no because it was his land.

Eve ended up between her blood family and her fire fam. She disappointed Elroy by siding with the job over her kin.

We have to wonder if her setting the fire was symbolic of burning her last bridge with her family. It was supposed to protect the ranch.

But shifting winds carried embers across the fire line and onto the barn, where the ranch hands had just put all the horses, including the new baby foal Eve had just delivered.

Eve and Elroy Edwards talk
(Eric Milner/CBS)

Eve wasn’t the only one whose plan to protect something backfired. Bode and Audrey went on a fire call, thinking they would only be doing preventative measures. Leave it to their luck to stumble upon a massive zombie fire.

Huh? That’s one way to add a unique twist to the typical zombie outbreak.

Show of hands: Before this episode, who had heard of a zombie fire or holdover fire? Not this TV fanatic, and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen every fire movie or series available.

It’s pretty gnarly but totally awesome, too.

How crazy would it be to have to face a fire that’s been burning underground for months to years? That sounds like some Tommy Lee Jones ’90s Volcano or the La Brea intro or something.

Bode’s a badass ex-convict, so it’s always a pleasure to see his softer side, from the teddy bear in his locker to the family portrait in his helmet to the near tears he had when he listened to the sob story of a local with a beautiful home and a dead wife.

Bode and Audrey make a plan
(Eric Milner/CBS)

Bode made a promise to save his house, and things seemed to be going well until James jinxed it by talking crap. Never test the universe with an early celebration, especially when it comes to fighting fires.

Sharon continued to issue orders to Leone and James to abandon the location and handle other fires. But the couple ignored her calls, freaking Momma Bear out.

Bode should face serious reprimand for ignoring direct orders. In his desperation to keep a promise and supposedly leave behind the old Bode, he put himself and Audrey in a very dangerous situation.

Does anyone else find it irritating that after Bode screwed up and put both of them at risk, he made a plan and tried to talk about how to save them like their being trapped wasn’t his fault?

As the fire consumed everything around them, James held onto Bode for literal life as they dove underwater to avoid the flames. And then the credits rolled.

Will Bode and Audrey’s first kiss be a mermaid breath of life as they share air? Will Audrey forgive Bode for putting her into the terrifying situation of getting burned alive or drowning because she couldn’t swim?

If they had left earlier, as she had wanted and as she had ordered, they would not have been trapped on all sides by a wall of flames.

My favorite part of the day was when Eve asked how to reason with a stubborn old man, and Sharon and Bode both shot ‘that’ look at Vince. Priceless! Is that a hint at Vince’s own father issues? Or are they calling him a stubborn old man?

And what was with this episode and people ignoring their radio calls? Does anyone else notice a theme where all the various scenes and people tend to focus on one narrative?

In Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7, subordinates lashed out at their superiors, which in real life would have resulted in numerous firefighters being dismissed from their stations.

Vince stands at his truck
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS )

So, fanatics, what did you think of the Fire Country Season 3 fall finale? Are you excited for the show to return so we can get answers? Where do you hope the story goes from here?

What did you like about the episode? Hate? Is it better than previous episodes, which have been borderline daytime soap with basic or regurgitated storylines?

Fire Country has been pushing the boundaries of unique brilliance since it debuted in 2022. Three seasons later, we’re still getting interesting twists on tropes we’ve seen dozens of times.

Fire Country Season 3 Episode 8 spoilers will get you primed for all the tension in the fall finale.

Given Fire Country’s success with emotional, high-octane situations, we expect the episode to end with a cliffhanger that will leave us in torment until the return on January 31.

Bode and Audrey make a plan
(Eric Milner/CBS)

Here’s what we can expect from 2024’s final Fire Country Season 3 Episode 8.

The season’s biggest news is that Station 42 and Three Rock will deal with zombies! Zombie fires, to be specific.

Who knew there was such a thing?

The episode’s synopsis warns of dangerous underground fires threatening the town and its residents. These zombie fires will set up the scene for us to finally get a family reunion between Eve and her rancher father.

Some fans (or maybe just myself) have been eager to see more of Eve’s family since we learned about their discord earlier in the season.

She made up with her brother in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 5 and is set to experience the joys of being an aunt. But only if she can make nice with her parents. But Elroy Edwards (Phil Morris) doesn’t seem as eager to put the past behind them and make up for lost time.

Elroy and Eve have an interaction
(Eric Milner/CBS)

The Edwards ranch is an established part of the Edgewater community, as much as the bar the Leones bought.

Elroy isn’t a big fan of the fire department or Eve’s role there. He is disappointed in Eve because she abandoned the family business to fight fires.

She chose the Leones over her own blood — and her girlfriend.

We hope to see some major tension from the newcomer as we explore more of the Edwards family and their relationship with the town.

Vince and Elroy Edwards observe
(Eric Milner/CBS)

It’ll also be cool to see the ranch where Eve grew up.

Maybe her ranching skills could come in handy as the team fights zombie fires. Riding a horse to the rescue would be badass, although (bummer) highly unlikely.

Will the underground burns be on the Edwards ranch and trying to spread into town? Or did they originate elsewhere, and CalFire has to prevent them from reaching the ranch?

Zombie fires are a helluva experience for two rookie firefighters who just passed their fire training, especially when things get out of control so fast.

Bode and Audrey make a great team in the field, so it’s no surprise that they’ll face a life-threatening event together. Gotta up that tension factor.

Their chemistry is off the charts, no matter the situation. They’re just as great with witty banter as they are at complementing that hardened edge they developed from time in prison.

After their private celebratory dinner and Audrey’s recent breakup, plenty of electricity flows between the pair. A hookup is imminent.

Will the pair indulge in their shared attraction before the show goes on hiatus, or will we be left with a slow burn and a missed opportunity to tide us over until the return?

Audrey and Bode try to work out an escape
(Eric Milner/CBS)

Speaking of hookups, the high-risk dangers of an invisible, underground fire are not the place for awkward, sober reflections of wild, desperate parking lot truck sex with an ex.

Will it be weird between Jake and Gabriela in the light of day? Or will the two start a purely sexual, low-key arrangement as they both wallow in their personal tortures?

Jake is angry and hurt that he’s lost Genevieve to Rick. Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7 ended with Jake pissed at Vince for overstepping his boundaries and for giving him fatherly advice.

But Vince wasn’t the only one who tried to be a sympathetic surrogate parent to a subordinate firefighter, and it backfired.

What is up with Gabriela and her tantrums? If you read our Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7 review comments, one user called Gabriela out about her behavior toward Sharon.

She does seem to get it from her genetics because Manny’s outburst to Sharon was enough to concern the guards, as he blamed her for letting Gabriela spiral. Father and daughter are both acting like asses during Fire Country Season 3.

Manny and Cole take a break
(Eric Milner/CBS)

It’s been noted several times how much this show thrives on nepotism and personal favors from the Leones.

Gabriela keeping her job after verbally attacking her boss is a prime example. In real life, she’d be out the door, jobless and homeless.

Sharon has tried to be there for Gabriela as she battles a mental health crisis without realizing she’s on a dangerous downward spiral that could land her in a situation that could alter her life forever.

All it takes is one rash decision — just ask Bode or Audrey.

Bode and Audrey debate the scene
(Eric Milner/CBS)

That could be as simple as a drunken, unprotected hookup in a truck at just the right time of the month. Am I delusional that the writers could gear the storyline in that direction, where Gabs gets pregnant by Jake?

He’s lonely without a wife or child. And he just offered her a place to stay since she’s mad at Sharon but lives in their camper. Gabriela’s floundering in life, pushing things to the brink and chasing a high to hide how badly she’s messed her life up.

Ironically, she told Sharon she knew the risks of her recent behavior since her dad’s an alcoholic who’s now sitting in prison (camp) for one rash decision.

And yet, she doesn’t notice that her actions are textbook signs of self-destruction, from isolating from others to the drinking to the sex to the dangerous high diving.

What will it take to get Gabriela out of her funk and back to the fun-loving, kick-butt paramedic Gabs we used to love? Or is it too late for her character, and we’re stuck with her moping and destroying the lives of those who cross her path?

With all the dissension in the rankings of Station 42, we expect Fire Country Season 3 Episode 8 to be full of tension and end on a major cliffhanger.

Eve talks with her dad
(Eric Milner/CBS)

Several series have already ended their fall finale with someone’s life in peril. If you keep up with One Chicago, you’ll get my drift. Chicago Med has set up exits for two possible characters. Chicago Fire has Cruz’s life in the crosshairs.

Will Fire Country follow suit and leave fans in agony over the fate of one of CalFire’s best? The show has proven time and again that it’s superior when it comes to ending on a massive cliffhanger.

However, whether it can keep momentum once the show returns and picks up the storyline is up in the air.

Things seem to be going better for Fire Country Season 3 than for Fire Country Season 2, but viewers still complain of regurgitated storylines and stifled character growth.

What started as a unique series focused on a prisoner redemption arc quickly became a soapy firefighter-themed family drama, with prison camp as a prop for the storyline rather than the show’s fun focus.

What are your thoughts on Fire Country Season 3 so far? What do you predict will go down in the fall finale to torture us during the agonizing winter break? What do you want to transpire once the series returns in January?

It’s the time of year most TV fanatics hate — when all of our favorite Primetime series go on break.

We’ve got tips for fighting the fall finale funk to help you get through the next few weeks of reruns and missing series. These ideas are meant to be fun and festive.

If you’re struggling with seasonal withdrawals and feel out of sorts without anything to do until your favorite shows come back on, try these funk-fighting tips. You can always catch a rerun of one of your series favorites, like NCIS: Origins.

Check Out the Late Start Series

Many of today’s popular TV shows go on a multi-week hiatus around the end-of-year holidays, giving TV networks time to fill with seasonal specials and holiday favorites.

However, the break in regular programming is also the perfect time for other shows to try to capture an otherwise distracted audience.

Landman is a Paramount+ masterpiece starring Billy Bob Thorton and Ali Larter and focuses on the lives of those in the oil industry.

Star Wars fans might enjoy yet another series spinoff — Star Wars: Skeleton Crew — airing December 2 on Disney+.

And Dexter fans get the pleasure of another series spinoff — Dexter: Original Sin — airing December 13 on Paramount+.

Based on a true story, The Sticky — airing Prime Video starting December 6 — is a dramatic reimagining of a maple syrup farmer (Margo Martindale) who turns to a life of crime when her farming business becomes at risk.

Fans of animated kids’ films like Inside Out (and sequel Inside Out 2) might appreciate the upcoming series Dream Productions, featuring Joy, Disgust, and Fear, as they put on movies “dreams” in Riley’s mind every night. Check Disney+ starting December 11.

Of course, if you’re trying to fill several hours with mindless oblivion, binge-watching old shows is always a popular choice. You can find dozens of full-run series on your favorite streaming service.

It’s the perfect time to jump into ongoing series like NCIS, Chicago Fire, Law & Order: SVU, or Grey’s Anatomy.

Most of these shows have one or more spinoffs.

Watch Holiday Movies

A lot of us struggle to get into the holiday spirit as the days seem to move faster and the world continues to stop making sense.

Christmas is the biggest commercial holiday of the year, bringing in thousands of dollars in revenue. So it’s not surprising that dozens of new holiday movies are created each year to keep up with popular demand.

If you’re feeling funky cause your favorite series has gone on hiatus, cheer up and get into the holiday spirit with a fun Christmas flick. It can be family-friendly or freaking scary as hell.

(CBS/Screenshot)

My current favorite Christmas movie is on Paramount+ and stars the amazing Jack Black. I highy recommend Dear Santa if you want a new spin on the regular Santa story.

For a holiday romance, Netflix offers Hot Frosty, a rom-com inspired by Frosty the Snowman starring Lacey Chabert.

As someone who loves slapstick, I couldn’t resist checking out the newest Christmas film featuring Ben Stiller. You can stream Nutcrackers on Hulu.

Football fans, specifically those who support the Kansas City Chiefs, would love to check out the new film Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.

(©2024 Hallmark Media/Photographer: Joshua Haines)

Hallmark has a ton of holiday films to browse, especially for paid Hallmark+ users, including over 600 hours of original holiday content in The Very Merry Holiday Collection.

If you’re in the mood for a Christmas flick on the big screen, head to the theaters to check out the latest Christmas comedy starring Dewayne “The Rock” Johnson and Chris Evans (Captain America), Red One.

Of course, you can always return to faithful classics like Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph, A Christmas Story, Die Hard (yes, it counts as a Christmas movie), Home Alone, Elf, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

Try Seasonal Reality Series

If a good seasonal movie isn’t your thing, you can curl up with a tasty hot beverage and a fun Christmas reality series.

Reality cooking shows are quite popular this time of year. One of the year’s most anticipated Christmas series features celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay (and daughter Tilly). MasterChef Junior: Home for the Holidays airs on FOX.

Cooking fans can also try series like Superchef Grudge Match, Netflix‘s Is It Cake?, and the Holiday Baking Championship.

Another great seasonal series to watch with your children (or alone if you’re a LEGO nerd) is the imaginative LEGO Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular.

Prefer a show with more not-so-good-natured competition for the cool season? Try Big Brother Reindeer Games, starting December 11.

Grab a Good Christmas Book

A lack of things to watch on TV is the perfect time to put your nose in a book.

There are many Christmas-themed books to read, whether you want a classic story or a new adventure.

One of my favorite things to do as a TV fanatic is to read books that have been — or will be — adapted to TV. It might surprise you how many exist.

Harry Potter is a popular example of a book series that successfully turned into a film franchise.

The Potter ‘verse is so successful it has inspired a new series called Wizards of Baking, featuring the Phelps brothers (the Weasley twins), coming to Max in 2026.

HBO Max's Harry Potter Special
(HBO Max)

You can also dive into the world of Dickens with A Christmas Carol.

After you’ve read the classic storybook, you can check out the numerous film adaptations, including the comedic musical Spirited, starring Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) and Ebenezer Scrooge.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a beloved story to share with the family for the Christmas holiday. Not only is the Dr. Seuss book perfect for young minds to practice their reading skills, but the film adaptations are some of the best in the biz.

Get Creative with Christmas Crafts

The Christmas holiday means that children will be home, dying of boredom and eating everything under your roof.

Crafts are great for keeping your kids occupied, reducing screentime (for your kids), and saving you money on holiday decorations. You can present your children’s artwork around the house without breaking child labor laws.

Trying To Destress - New Girl
(FOX)

Crafting is a great way to spend quality time with your kids, and you’ll end up with some adorable keepsakes to treasure for years to come.

The easiest and most affordable Christmas crafts for your kids include popcorn garlands, construction paper ring garlands, cookie-cutter salt ornaments, clothespin snowflakes, and cardstock ornaments.

It may seem like we have a long wait until the return of our normal TV schedule, but these fun tips can make the wait less excruciating.

What do you like doing with your time to prepare for the festive season? Do you have a favorite holiday movie or tradition you enjoy? Is there a favorite dessert or craft you create every year that makes it feel like the holiday?

It might be cold outside in most parts of the country, but we’re overheating after the emotions of this episode.

Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7 review discusses Camden Casey’s last appearance, the aftermath of Bode and Gabriela’s breakup, the passion brewing between Bode and the newly single Audrey, and all the tension under the Station 42 roof.

When a hostage situation at a weed dispensary turned into a blazing smoke fest that Snoop Dogg and Willy Nelson would love, our favorite fire cadets stole the show.

Station 42 gets held hostage
(Eric Milner/CBS)

Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7 was our last time with Captain Camden Casey (Jared Padalecki), leaving behind murky feelings.

We knew he wasn’t going to be a guy everyone loved. In fact, it seemed like everyone hated him.

Vince vouched for him at first, but his feelings changed drastically after the eagle sanctuary in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6. Finding out Camden wasn’t going to pass Bode made things hellah worse.

Sharon hated him because he tried to push Bode to be the best, even if it meant he broke the rules and ignored orders. Until it happened to him.

Funny how Camden held it against Bode when he went rogue and chose to stay with Station 42 to save baby eagles instead of returning to the fire station as ordered by Casey during Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6.

Bode’s refusal to follow orders was grounds for not graduating. For the entire episode, Bode operated as if it were his last day.

Chime in fanatics on your thoughts about Casey’s behaviors. Was he right to consider failing Bode for disobeying an officer during the eagle nest fire? Or did Bode do right by following the orders of a higher superior officer, even if that was his dad?

Instead of apologizing for not following the rules, Bode leaned into his rebellion and used it to prove to Casey that he deserved to become a firefighter.

Casey is just as reckless — if not worse — than Bode.

Ironic how it’s usually Bode doing the risky heroic stuff that puts his life — and usually others — at risk.

Were Camden and Bode heroes who saved the day by wrestling the gun away from the bad guy? Or did Camden’s actions escalate the situation into a dangerous fire hazard?

Camden Casey is a hostage
(Eric Milner/CBS)

The robber already shot Audrey when he caught her trying to reach a cell phone. He was desperate. And they knew who he was.9

If bullets hadn’t hit the butane tanks, there wouldn’t have been a fire. But the fire allowed everyone to escape. And it brought Station 42 back to the scene to get into action after the disappointment of the original false alarm.

Camden’s momentary lapse of presence during the call showed a crack in his armor. Vince was right when he said Casey had demons he needed to confront.

Camden has unresolved issues. We have our fingers crossed that we’ll explore them more with the Fire Country: Surfside spinoff starring Captain Casey as the lead, back in his neck of the non-woods of SoCal.

Casey tries to convince Bode of something
(Eric Milner/CBS)

It’s time to weigh in on your opinion of the prickly SoCal fire captain. Did you like him or hate him?

Regardless of personal feelings, he did a great job shaping Bode and Audrey into the rising stars of CFD Station 42. It’ll be fun to see the tensions in the station house with all the hookups happening.

Gabriela and Jake are hooking up again. Called it!

Jake has been dragging his feet about moving on. But now that he’s lost Genevieve for good, he’s floundering without a purpose. Gabriela is familiar, and unresolved feelings have always sweltered beneath the surface.

Gabriela looks upset
(Eric Milner/CBS)

The episode ended with him pissed at Vince, but should he be? Maybe if he had taken Vince’s advice, Gene wouldn’t have decided to move in with her biological father and leave Jake behind.

Isn’t it best for her to be with her siblings and father since her mom and grandparents are gone? Jake’s career isn’t exactly safe.

Audrey is single now and shared an intimate celebratory meal with Bode, with enough heat surging between the two to start a five-alarm fire.

We gotta admit she’s one bad bihh. She took a bullet to the arm without complaint and still went back inside a blazing (there might have been more weed smoke than fire smoke) store to save the life of the guy who shot her.

But how will Gabriela react when she finds out Bode’s moved on to blonder — and more kickass — turnouts? Will she start using Jake to feed her addiction to distraction now that Bode left?

How far will Gabriela fall before she realizes she’s on a route of self-punishment?

Gabriela sits in her AirStream
(Eric Milner/CBS)

She’s been spiraling downwards since Fire Country Season 3 started. I’ll likely gain haters for this, but she’s been on a slippery slope since she gave up her dream of diving in Fire Country Season 1.

She makes decisions based on a wave of emotions and rash behaviors, which usually end badly with the wrong choice.

After the devastating breakup in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6, she spent drunken time with Casey. Who believes his claims to Vince and Sharon that nothing happened?

Then there’s her risque diving off the cliffs, to the point that she injured her shoulder and then lied about the cause. Is Sharon right to be hounding Gabriela so hard about her uncharacteristic behaviors?

How about invading Gabriela’s privacy by entering the AirStream without permission? I say Sharon had all the rights in the world to go inside. First, it’s her property. Second, it’s parked inside the fire station. Third, Gab’s is not okay.

Sharon looks worried
(Eric Milner/CBS)

And right now, she’s pushing away anyone close enough to influence her away from her self-inflicted wounds.

From the inside of the trailer and Gabriela’s outbursts to Sharon before her hissy fit storming off, anyone who’s been there knows she’s close to rock bottom.

She’s learned from the best how to lash out at those closest to you.

Manny spent most of the episode pretty angry, first with Sharon because of his guilt for not being there to help Gabriela. And then with Eve for letting Three Rock serve prison food at Bode’s graduation.

Manny makes a case
(Eric Milner/CBS)

Granted, there were other cadets (several females) getting diplomas from Captain Casey, but the crowd was there for 24k — and Jamesey, if we’re honest.

The graduation ceremony was a great way to end Casey’s time on the show. It was too much fun to watch him call out Three Rock. Most people wouldn’t acknowledge a fire crew made of prisoners.

Camden is right about one thing. There are many blurry lines at Station 42 between personal and professional. Vince and Sharon struggle with separating family from work with their adopted pack of firefighters, which now includes ex-inmate Audrey James.

Right now, the helicopter parenting of their non-blood children has turned work into a tense minefield of resentment and overstepping.

Sharon works on Gabriela
(Eric Milner/CBS)

Did anyone else notice the trend of dissension in the rankings in this episode? It seems like every superior had a rather heated exchange with a subordinate.

Sharon and Gabriela. Sharon and Manny. Eve and Manny. Vince and Jake. Camden and Bode.

That’s a lot of bad blood for one episode. What do you think fanatics?

Just enough drama to keep things interesting? Or too much drama to the point that it’s becoming an action-packed soap opera?

Speaking of action, let’s hear your thoughts on this week’s emergency call. It was supposed to be a false fire alarm, but it became a hostage situation.

And how do you like the way the show introduced Captain Casey? Is there enough potential for him to score a spinoff? The writers did a much better job setting up that series than they have so far with Sheriff Country, which is coming to CBS in 2025.

A hostage situation seemed like the perfect time to bring back Mickey Fox. However, it’s not the first episode where Station 42 firefighters get held at gunpoint without the cops getting involved.

(Eric Milner/CBS)

We know Mickey is set to make a return to Fire Country before it goes on a fall hiatus, so that is exciting.

Be sure to check back into TV Fanatic for Fire Country Season 3 Episode 8 spoilers to find out if Morena Baccarin returns in that episode.

It’s not uncommon to see the same actor playing several different roles at the same time, especially on TV shows.

Shawn Hatosy has a role on Rescue: HI-Surf but is also a recurring face on Chicago PD. Both roles portray Hatosy as an entitled white male in charge who’s not afraid to bend the rules to get his way.

It’s not the first time Hatosy has taken on roles that depict him negatively. He’s one of those actors who is great at playing a jerky bad guy. However, he also has numerous memorable characteristics as an okay guy.

Reid on the scene of a crime
(Lori Allen/NBC)

Hatosy fans from the ’90s might remember him from his early days when he took on awkward teen roles to expand his filmography.

He had several small supporting roles, racking up time with big names like Brittany Murphy (Double Jeopardy) and James Russo (No Way Home).

In & Out (1997) is my first introduction, starting my celebrity crush that has continued until today. Ahead of its time and focusing on a gay male teacher (Kevin Kline) who didn’t know he was gay, In & Out had some of the top talent of the ’90s.

Still a newcomer on the acting scene, Hatosy played a small-town high school kid adjusting to discovering his male high school coach and teacher was gay.

It was weird seeing Tom Selleck pre-Blue Bloods and missing his sexy trademark mustache (a bit of TV trivia for you — Blue Bloods isn’t the first time Selleck worked with Gregory Jbara, who plays Garrett.)

Garrett standing with his reading glasses on and looking upset on Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 15
(Courtesy of CBS)

A few years later, teens got a deeper taste of Hatosy’s talents when he starred in the underappreciated teen film The Faculty. Who wouldn’t love a movie about aliens that take over a town, starting with the high school teachers?

Especially when the movie involves teen crush icons like Elijah Wood (Yellowjackets or Lord of the Rings), Usher, Josh Hartnett, Clea DuVall, and Jordana Brewster (Fast & Furious franchise).

His first lead was a rebellious teen sent to boarding school by his working-class father (Outside Providence).

I cried ugly tears when he died in Anywhere but Here, where he played Benny, Natalie Portman’s best friend and cousin.

The first time I hated him was when he played the pompous, entitled, rich white boy turned emergency room hostage in John Q. His harsh performance matched Denzel Washington’s brilliant desperation as a father trying to get his young son a new heart.

Pope's Last Hurrah - Vertical - Animal Kingdom Season 3 Episode 11
(TNT)

One of the most traumatizing films was the true story Alpha Dog, starring Justin Timberlake (a musician from my hometown) and Emile Hirsch (Girl Next Door).

Shawn played Elvis, a demented killer who escalated a kidnapping into the tragic death of a young teenager.

He scored his first recurring series role in Southland, where he played a successful LA police detective, Sammy Bryant. The series featured a young Kevin Alejandro (Manny Perez from Fire Country).

And who could forget him as Andrew ‘Pope’ Cody on Animal Kingdom?

As a member of the criminal mastermind family who banks on living a lavish lifestyle, Pope is the embodiment of entitled crooked cockiness.

Prison Transfer - Animal Kingdom
(Warner Media/TNT)

Hatosy’s two newest roles continue his trademark tradition of playing an “ick” — you insert the preferred consonant prefix (d and p work).

It was a delight with the 2024 fall season return to see Hatosy portray the role of Deputy Chief Charlie Ried in Chicago PD.

From the start, he seemed untrustworthy and up to something.

His recent offer to protect the Intelligence Unit after their latest scandal only upped his ‘sus factor. A man like that doesn’t offer such a large favor without getting something in return.

So what will he want for his help?

Along with playing a police chief, Shawn simultaneously played the role of Hawai’i politician Councilman Clayton Emerson, the next Honolulu mayor in Rescue: HI-Surf.

Reid is staking out.
(Lori Allen/NBC)

Instantly proving he’s the type of politician who’s not afraid to use his power to his advantage, Emerson bribed Sonny (Robbie Magasiva) to get his son, Kainalu (Alex Aiono), assigned to the North Shore beaches, despite him not earning the spot.

Throughout Rescue: HI-Surf Season 1, we’ve seen Hatosy throw around his political position to get his way, especially for his kid.

How far would he push his political corruption if he reached mayor status? And would he try his luck with Emily when (if) she becomes in charge after Sonny retires? Will she let him get away with it like Sonny?

Given Shawn’s reputation for playing a convincing jerk face, we have to wonder if he’ll continue choosing roles that lend him an air of pompous abuse of authority.

Pope Confronts J -wide - Animal Kingdom Season 6 Episode 13
(TNT)

Do we enjoy it when actors find their niche and stick to it?

Or do we prefer actors who explore different character avenues for a well-rounded filmography of work?

What has been your favorite role of Shawn Hatosy’s to this point?

Leave us your thoughts in the comments.

These Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7 spoilers give a head's up about the false alarm turned hostage situation.

As we’re days away from the yummiest holiday of the year and hurdling towards the biggest shopping season, most TV shows have gone on hiatus for the year.

Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7 spoilers key you in for the next episode, which will skip a week since it is Thanksgiving and return with a fresh episode on December 6.

Although we don’t have confirmation about when Fire Country will go on a fall hiatus, we expect to get an eighth episode in 2024 before the show ends for the year to make room for Christmas shows.

Station 42 gets held hostage
(Eric Milner/CBS)

CBS has announced the show’s Winter 2025 premiere date as Jan 31. The series will return on Fridays after the NCIS: Sydney Season 2 premiere and ahead of S.W.A.T’s new time slot.

Fire Country has perfected the art of the creative cliffhanger, leaving viewers on edge more than once during its three-season run. And we have no doubt the Fire Country Season 3 Fall Finale will do more of the same.

Although we don’t know where the show will end, Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7 should set the scene for the fall finale.

Much like Law & Order: SVU Season 26 Episode 8 left off after putting Carisi through major emotional trauma. And we’re stuck in limbo, wondering what that gunshot meant in the Grey’s Anatomy Season 2 Episode 8 finale.

Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7 will be the last episode for Camden Casey’s character introduction, which the show handled much better than Sheriff Mickey Fox.

Camden came in as Bode’s final training captain, although things weren’t going well when Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6 ended. Bode chose his family and town over obeying Casey’s orders to leave the fire scene after Camden disagreed with Vince.

Casey tries to convince Bode of something
(Eric Milner/CBS)

Vince tried to make amends with Casey, but it might not have worked. He doesn’t seem to be the forgive-and-forget type.

We hope Bode’s disregard for his Captain’s orders didn’t affect his CFD future.

Is it solely up to Camden whether Bode graduates Phase 3 of fire training? Or does he only have input, and the higher-ups make the final decision?

Camden has rubbed most people wrong — even Bode during their latest fire call at the Eagle Sanctuary. But those of us who don’t mind a guy who’s kind of an asshole love him.

Camden Casey is a hostage
(Eric Milner/CBS)

The show has done a great job setting up his character for the Fire Country: Surfside spinoff we’re nearly certain will happen.

Camden is damaged and tormented, determined to be a lone wolf so he doesn’t lose anyone else after the tragedy of his whole team dying — including a brother — during a fire call.

If his spinoff comes true, seeing him in his element of SoCal will be interesting. He seems like a character we could enjoy getting to know.

He’s done a great job helping Bode gain confidence in following his instincts and knowing when to question following the rules. Sharon, Vince, and Jake have tried to restrain Bode, but Casey wants Bode to explore his talents and be the best.

But after last week’s test of loyalty, Bode and Camden might not be as buddy-buddy as before. With tension in the ranks, Casey might have a change of heart about his opinion of Bode and his cowboy antics.

Especially if Bode decides to go renegade during a false alarm fire call that quickly escalates into a hostage situation.

Who will Bode be once Camden leaves, and he makes it onto the roster of Station 42? Will he find a way to marry the lessons he learned from each person and become the prodigy everyone expects? Or will he return to his screw-up ways like Manny?

Manny is back in charge at Three Rock, even though he’s an inmate who just arrived. It took a bit for the inmate crew to adjust to Manny getting First Saw ahead of Cole.

He and Gabriela are still at odds, even though he’s done his best to return to her good graces. She’s been acting like a brat since Manny went to prison, and it’s old for this viewer.

Manny makes a case
(Eric Milner/CBS)

Gabriela is in the middle of a mental health crisis, and it’s causing her to push away everyone close to her.

She feels like she’s blown up her life, and now she’s drowning in the aftermath of her impulsive decisions, from being in debt to Diego’s parents for her canceled wedding to hiding out in the AirStream parked inside the fire station.

She dumped Diego for Bode. But now she’s decided not to be in a relationship with Bode. Most of us support this decision.

Gabriela sits in her AirStream
(Eric Milner/CBS)

Since the show started three seasons ago, Gabriela has constantly been involved in relationships. A relationship with Bode would be a rebound from Diego, who was a rebound from her first breakup with Bode.

With so much turmoil, she needs time to find herself and learn to make herself happy before she tries to find a happily ever after with a partner.

At the rate she’s spiraling, she’s heading for rock bottom unless she lets in those close to her. We all need help from time to time.

She has a great support system, if she’d let them in.

The Fire Country audience is divided on Bode’s decision to forgo a relationship with Gabriela. Some people — like myself — see that they’re not good for each other.

(Eric Milner/CBS)

They are both too willing to blow up their lives for the other. They ride the highs and crave the thrills. And they make bad decisions together.

But the other half wants to finally see their relationship come to fruition now that all the obstacles seem gone. After all, we’ve invested three years into their not-ship. It seems a waste to let all that effort end without seeing what could happen.

Was it wrong for Bode to say it’s over because Gabriela isn’t ready for a relationship right now? She did almost marry another guy. Naturally, she might want a break before rushing into another relationship.

However, that doesn’t give her the right to keep coming back to Bode for her carnal needs. He’s right that he deserves all or nothing.

Can he find something with newcomer Audrey James? There is so much chemistry there, even if she is already in a long-term relationship. We doubt it’ll last. Or will James relocate south and become part of Jared Padalecki’s crew in the potential Fire Country spinoff?

Station 42 gets held hostage
(Eric Milner/CBS)

James doesn’t appear in every episode this season, but there’s magic when she does. Especially when she’s on stage with Vince at Smokey’s. Her voice was insane!

Speaking of newcomers, we just got word that we’ll finally be seeing more of Sheriff Mickey Fox, sister of Sharon Leone.

There was a brief intro of her in Fire Country Season 2 Episode 6 and several mentions of her since then. But we haven’t gotten enough of her to justify a spinoff of her own. But that’s what Fire Country fans have coming with Sheriff Country Season 1 in 2025.

Since Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7 will feature a hostage situation involving Bode, Camden, and Audrey, it’s possible fans could get an episode involving both spinoff main characters together.

We hope the family reunion between Sharon and Mickey isn’t the only one we witness.

Sharon looks worried
(Eric Milner/CBS)

Eve has started trying to make amends with her estranged family, starting with her brother, played by Jeff Pierre (Walker). She’s also reconnected with an old romantic interest in the CFD’s rescue at the Eagle park.

Could we finally see more of Eve’s personal life now that she’s found her groove as Three Rock Fire Captain?

And how about Sharon, now that she thinks she might have the answer to her health issues? James implied Sharon might be going through perimenopause.

But as a loyal Fanatic pointed out, wouldn’t that have shown up on all the fancy tests Sharon’s doctor claimed he ran? Is she of age to go through Mother Nature’s change or is there something else going on, waiting to surprise us?

What are your thoughts on how Fire Country Season 3 is progressing compared to its previous runs? Are you enjoying Camden Casey enough to see him as the lead in his own show?

(Eric Milner/CBS)

How are you feeling about finally getting more of Mickey Fox?

Do you like the idea of the Sheriff Country spinoff?

Leave us your thoughts in the comments!

TV viewers have parental warnings and discretionary viewing labels, but can we get dog alerts for common triggers?

The post TV Has Parental Ratings and Trigger Warnings: Can We Get Dog Alerts Too? appeared first on TV Fanatic.

]]>
These days, trigger warnings exist for everything under the sun, including the giant fiery star in the sky.

TV has parental warnings, but it would be great to have dog alerts, too. TV has a lot of scenes and sounds that can be as disturbing to dogs as some scenes are to people.

Before you start a TV show — and usually after it comes back from every commercial break — we get a small box in the corner with a string of alphabet letters. These simple letters refer to the content warnings you’ll witness during that episode.

(WB Kids/Screenshot)

Think of shows like Chicago PD and Law & Order: SVU. Some of the most common parental warnings we see on TV (do we really need them?) include:

  • V – Violence
  • N – Nudity
  • L – Language
  • S – Sexual situations
  • D – Drugs

These letters influence the show’s parental guide ratings, which can vary from safe for all ages (TV-Y) to only for mature adult audiences (TV-MA).

Networks use these viewer discretion advisories to cover their butts so viewers can’t come after them for getting triggered. Some of us consider it yet another way that we’re softening up the younger generations.

Many parents shelter their children too much to the point that they won’t watch a show with a “potty” word in it. I use bad words in my daily parenting cause I don’t have soft kids.

We listen to hard music, and I share my favorite PG and PG-13 films with them. My youngest son was watching The Walking Dead when he was five.

My oldest daughter is still a Criminal Minds junkie after her first episode when she was eight. It inspired her to go to college to become a forensic psychologist.

(Michael Yarish/Paramount+)

Everyone has their own parenting styles, and there’s no perfect way. None of us know what we’re doing anyway.

But while I’m not too restrictive about what my children watch, I still have to sit with the remote next to my hand, ready for lightning-fast reactions at the slightest prompts.

Sadly, there are no warnings for the types of triggers I have to hide.

See, my children are older these days, so there’s little I have to hide. Obviously, we avoid nudity, sex, and excessive gore. But drugs, strong language, mild violence, and such, not so much.

But I do share my personal space with six obnoxiously attentive canines who have an unhealthy obsession with violating personal boundaries and binge-watching TV.

It’s not uncommon to hear dog parents who have canines that enjoy screen time. One social media profile I follow on Facebook (guess my age) has a massive mutt with an obsession with Paw Patrol.

(©2022 Crown Media United States LLC/Photographer: Courtesy of Leif Films Media)

I read about a study about why dogs seem more interested in TV these days than in the past. None of my other dogs have ever seemed as reactive to the screen.

Apparently, it’s because TVs display pictures in higher definition than old screens.

Don’t I know it. I have to scold my dogs multiple times a day when they see a trigger on the screen: cats, running animals, babies, and balls, especially those that bounce. Tennis is a big issue here.

But the dogs don’t just react to what they see on the screen. There’s a bigger problem afoot because they’re even worse when it comes to noise.

As TV fanatics, we’ve got an uber-awesome surround sound system. But that backfires several times a day. All will be quiet and calm in the house while Mom works with the TV on for emotional support.

I’ll get lost in the words and lose my vigilance on what’s happening on the big screen. And then chaos erupts.

Carver tends to a dog on a call.
(NBC/Peter Gordon)

A horn honks. Or a dog barks. A baby cries. Or the worst trigger of all, a doorbell.

Even though it’s not really happening, the puppers do not know that. They will come out of a knocked-out coma-deep sleep like they’ve been cattle prodded.

Now, that may not seem too bad until you consider that five of the six dogs are giant pit bulls, ranging from 50 to 111 pounds. The sixth is a six-pound teacup Yorkie with the loudest yappy voice that incites a riot amongst her soldiers.

At the slightest provocation from the TV, they scatter to the various doors to stand guard. Their massive paws pose a severe risk to the glass panes as they stand on their hind legs to look outside.

When they stand up, these dogs are over four feet tall.

When they’re on all fours, they zoom around their obstacle course, knocking over things, including a coffee table on wheels that frequently gets pushed out of position.

Now that you understand the plight, it makes sense that I’m only one of thousands of pet parents who would love pet alert warnings on TV. Give us a heads-up that there will be dog triggers.

A simple box at the top of the screen after every commercial break to warn that the following scenes may contain scenes that may be disturbing for canines.

(The CW)

They could use codes like:

  • H – horns
  • D – doorbell
  • B – barking
  • K – kids
  • C – crying
  • A – alarms
  • S – sirens

Does anyone else have the same issues with their dogs acting like WWIII has started at certain sounds (or sights) coming from the TV? What are your dog’s triggers? Would a dog rating warning be useful to you?

Suits: LA is the year's most highly anticipated spinoff. Here's everything we know about the cast and characters.

The 2020s have been a period of reboots, remakes, and reimaginings, with classic shows finding new audiences amid the various streaming services.

Suits: LA is one of the most highly anticipated spinoffs in years, and our cast and character guide has all the information you need about the folks appearing on the show and the roles they’ll be filling.

This series will come in 2025 and feature familiar faces, including a recurring guest role from the original series.

Stephen Amell as Ted Black
(David Astorga/NBC)

Suits soared to the most-streamed series in history in 2023 when it became #1 on Netflix, years after its original run on USA from 2011 to 2019.

It will be interesting to see if the show’s predecessor has the same level of success and if the spinoff inspires more attempts or even an original reboot.

Suits: LA Cast and Character Guide

Suits: LA seems like it will have a similar plot premise to the original show, with a hotshot team of defense lawyers representing big-money clients.

While the original series focused on lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), the best closer in New York, and his protege conman turned lawyer Mike Ross, Suits: LA will focus on a new law firm led by Ted Black (Stephen Amell).

Ted Black (Stephen Amell)

Ted Black is an LA-based defense attorney struggling to keep his firm open. He started his career as a New York federal prosecutor — possibly with a surprising connection to Harvey.

Along with the change of scenery, Black will also have a career change. While he once worked to put away bad guys, his present circumstances with a failing law firm mean he’s changed gears.

On the West Coast, his defensive legal practice firm focuses on managing major clients who have a lot of money.

(David Astorga/NBC)

Stephen Amell will portray the lead character and firm owner, Black. Amell is most known for his role as Oliver Queen — the Green Arrow — in The CW’s Arrow for eight seasons, The Flash for nine episodes, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow for six.

He’s also had a recurring role in Heels as Jack Spade, portrayed Casey Jones in the 2016 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, and played Scott Becker in Private Practice, a failed spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy.

Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht)

Given Black’s connection to the East Coast, we expect a great story to unfold to tie NYC lawyer Harvey Specter to the West Coast law firm and Ted Black.

Originally, the Suits spinoff did not feature anyone from the original Suits cast, but Gabriel Macht made a surprising revelation on his social media recently that excitingly changed that prediction.

Harvey on the Phone - Suits Season 9 Episode 7
(Ian Watson/USA Network)

In his promo video, we see someone putting on a monogrammed shirt with the letters HS and slipping into a fancy pair of business shoes with Harvey written inside the sole.

We’re not sure how many times we’ll see Harvey in Suits: LA or what role he’ll play in Black’s new firm. Are they friends? Former colleagues?

Will Harvey help the firm succeed, or will he hinder it?

While Macht is best known for playing Specter for all 134 episodes of Suits — his most recent role — he’s also had numerous others. My favorite was his role as the romantic counterpart to Mandy Moore (This is Us) in Because I Said So (2007).

Stuart Lane (Josh McDermitt)

Stuart Lane will be a close friend and colleague of Black’s. The duo opened their LA law firm, Black Lane Law, 15 years prior.

Josh McDermitt - Suits

McDermitt is most known for his role in The Walking Dead (Seasons 4 through 11). He has appeared in numerous movies and series on a single-episode basis.

And he had a recurring role on Retired at 35.

Erica Rollins (Lex Scott Davis)

Erica Rollins will be the young, up-and-coming lawyer protege with a strong will and savvy instincts.

Davis is most known for her roles as Erin in Ricky Stanicki, Iris in Florida Man, Cassidy ‘Cass’ Ray in Rebel, and Alyse Craig in Training Day.

Rick Dodsen (Bryan Greenburg)

Rick Dodsen will play the role of rival to Ted’s young protege. We don’t know much more about his character so far. But be sure you’re subscribed to our newsletter to get notified when we do.

Greenburg is known for being in series like Emperor of Ocean Park, The Mindy Project, How to Make It in America, and October Road.

Suits: LA is Coming Soon

We can catch Suits: LA airing on NBC on Sundays, starting February 23, 2025. There is no confirmed date for a UK release.

Viewers will also enjoy a few posthumous appearances from the late John Amos as himself.

The Suits spinoff may have a new location and new characters, but it has the same production crew as the original series, from showrunner and creator Aaron Korsh to the same writers and costume designer.

It’s a backstage Suits reunion.

There hasn’t been news of any other Suits alum joining the Suits: LA spinoff. But there has been word that several of the show’s regulars, including Patrick J. Adams (Mike Ross), Gina Torres from 9-1-1: Lone Star, and Sarah Rafferty (Donna), are open to the potential of a guest visit.

Who knows. We might even see Meghan Markle pick up her role as Rachel, who left the show before it finished due to marrying into the Royal family.

How do you feel about a Suits spinoff?

Are you looking forward to it or dreading the idea?

What are your feelings on a Suits reboot featuring all of the original NYC crew?

Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6 depicts an awesome eagle rescue, introduces Eve's ex, and raises doubts about Bode and Gabriela's future.

Eaglets, old flames, difficult conflicts, heartbreak, and potential new relationships. What a combo.

This week’s Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6 review hits on all the developments of Edgewater and our favorite (and not so fav) firefighters as they work to save an eagle sanctuary.

From the the town’s “awww”-inspiring investment in the baby eagles to plenty of dueling egos, this episode had lots of emotions and action. Not to mention more of newcomers Camden Casey and Audrey James.

Our Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6 spoilers laid out the plot line and location for this episode’s emergency call.

How cool to feature a wildfire threatening a bird sanctuary.

The episode did a great job setting up all the drama we’d see once Station 42 and Three Rock got to the eagle refuge, starting with the entire town gathering at the bar to watch two eagle eggs hatch.

Great curveball, making it seem like everyone is on the edge of their seats for a game or other important event, only to find out they’re literally waiting for eggs to crack.

As someone who still gets giddy seeing animals (even if I saw the same ones the day before), it was endearing to see an entire town celebrating an eagle family.

Well, most of the town. As has often been the case this season, Gabriela wasn’t in a celebratory mood.

Gabriela looks concerned
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

She’s on a downward spiral and we’re waiting to see her hit rock bottom. Funny (not literally) how she is being hard on Manny for irresponsible behaviors.

Yet she’s been just as reckless with her own life.

Although Manny does seem to be running out of control lately. Ever since he lost his position as Three Rock Fire Captain in Fire Country Season 1 — a role Eve now holds — he’s been going downhill.

His hotheaded actions caused him to fall from a model former prison inmate turned firefighter to re-offended convict sentenced to serve time at the camp he once ran.

Eve made him First Saw, an honor that Bode once held under Manny’s tutelage. But Cole rightfully earned that position, especially since he’s been there longer. Does anyone think it’s fair that Eve gave the role to Manny because of his history with the camp over the inmate who deserved it?

Manny works a fire scene
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

Her decision caused major strain amongst the ranks, which came to a head on the fire call as Manny and Cole came to blows.

There was enough fire without Perez’s temper adding fuel to the flames.

Luckily, Eve’s built up enough respect among the crew that her intervention worked. The men quickly worked their crap out.

Eve did a favor not writing Cole and Manny up for their outburst. And Manny might have helped Cole even more by getting him to join their prison therapy group. Cole has made a lot of progress since we met him.

We hope he keeps doing well, with Manny guiding him the way he did with Bode. Speaking of which, it might have been a fun scene to see Manny happen by the confrontation between Vince and Casey during the fire.

Vince and Camden consult
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

Casey had zero problems insulting Vince to Bode’s face. Boy, be glad Sharon wasn’t there! She already thinks he’s a sociopath who hates eagles and steals her yogurt.

Imagine if Manny had witnessed Camden trying to undermine the loyalty he and the Leones’ instilled in Bode. Loyalty that makes Bode an amazing firefighter.

Bode seems to be in a constant state of tug-of-war since Casey arrived.

First, he got caught between Jake’s determination to keep him by the book and Camden’s decision to let him do his thing in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 5.

On Camden’s second episode appearance, he went head to head with Vince. And it might have been a fight he didn’t win, given Bode’s decision to stay at the fire call when Casey pulled his cadets off after getting mad at Vince’s approach.

We hope that doesn’t affect Bode’s completion of Phase 3 fire training. He did disobey his training captain’s orders.

Granted, he was following the orders of a higher-ranking superior. But Camden also disobeyed his superior by not staying behind the boundary the park ranger marked out.

Eve and a bird rehab worker mark off a scene
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

Vince told him to return to the station if he wanted to be the boss, because out there, Vince overruled. And Casey did actually leave, with his whole crew — minus Bode.

What are your thoughts on the Vince-Casey throwdown? Was Vince right to risk the town’s safety to protect two baby eagles? Or should they have done things Casey’s way, even if it meant leaving the eagles at risk?

Talk about tension. Even when Vince tried to make amends with Camden after the call was over, Camden continued being a Grade-A D.

Camden believes in cutting out all distractions. No friends, no family, no partner.

Not just with Bode, but apparently all firefighters. He was just as abrupt interrupting Eve’s reunion with her ex as he was shutting down Bode and Gabs mid-conversation.

We get it, after a past experience like his. Losing fellow firefighters, including a blood brother, can’t be easy.

But that doesn’t mean you should give up on life. Or try to go through it alone.

What kind of life is that to live? That’s basically been Bode’s entire adulthood. Prison is a lonely place, especially if you’re estranged from everyone you know outside those walls.

Now that Bode is out of prison, he’s trying to get back to a normal life. That includes a career of fighting fires with his family and friends, a place of his own, and a partner.

For three seasons, we’ve experienced the torture of the on-again/off-again mess of Bode and Gabriela’s relationship.

Gabriela’s already turned Bode down for a relationship in nearly every episode this season. But she doesn’t mind using him for her carnal desires.

But after the events of Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6, it seems like Bode is tired of things only being physical. He’s ready for more and if Gabriela isn’t ready to be that, a future won’t be possible.

Bode takes a break at a bird sanctuary
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

I’ve received hate for not being a fan of their relationship, but I stand by my decision.

Gabriela is not good for Bode. And he’s not good for her.

I will continue to pray to the TV lords that the show will find its true path of love for Gabriela and Jake. They were too cute together in Fire Country Season 1 until Bode crashed the relationship.

Now that Jake is starting to consider moving on after Cara’s death and Gabriela is single, they should give things a second chance. He even offered her his spare room.

If Gabriela doesn’t implode everything by doing the stupid thing that the episode cliffhanger implied.

An angry woman doing tequila shots across the bar from a hot rebel firefighter spells trouble any day.

How would things work out if Gabriela hooks up with Camden? Would there be more strain between him and Bode after their altercations during the eagle fire?

Camden lectures Bode
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

We know Camden isn’t worried about making friends. But does he mind enemies? Is he the type of guy to sleep with the woman he told his cadet to leave alone, just to get back at Bode for choosing Station 42 and his family over him?

Casey still has one more episode to finish out his character introduction and lead up to his potential Fire Country: Surfside spinoff. Be sure to check out our Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7 spoilers to find out more.

While this episode dealt with the heroic rescue of baby birds, Casey’s final episode could bring back Sheriff Mickey Fox as Station 42 deals with a hostage crisis.

Speaking of last episodes, we hope this won’t be the only time we see the dedicated park ranger who risked her life to save the baby eagles.

Eve talks to a bird ranger
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

It was awesome to find out she had a past with Eve.

I’ve been jonesing to see more of Eve’s backstory and finally, Fire Country Season 3 has delivered.

Not only are we learning more about her past, like growing up on a ranch, but we’ve also met her brother and saw a happy reunion. Now for her parents.

Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6 gave us more Eve-centered story line by introducing a past flame and hinting at the potential for another reunion. It would be great to see the show give someone besides Sharon and Vince a happily ever after.

Eve looks behind Vince
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

Jake didn’t get his with Cara. Manny had his temporary fling with Faye Stone — but it didn’t last long. And now it seems Bode won’t get his forever with Gabriela.

However, there is still very much the potential for Bode to start something fresh with fellow firefighter James.

I’ve been obsessed with James since she arrived on the show and gave Bode a healthy dose of competition. Their repertoire has been refreshing to watch and I’ve loved the dynamic.

She’s the female version of 24k and her luster has been pulling at Bode like Davey Jones’ treasure calls to a pirate.

James may have a long-distance relationship, but it’s obvious to everyone that she and Bode have a special kind of magic. They spark naturally, without doing anything to ignite the flame.

Gabriela certainly noticed the chemistry while the couple sat next to each other at the bar and shared in the joy of the eagles being born.

Audrey James as a fire cadet and former prison inmate
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

And Audrey got along well with Sharon, which is something you would want from a potential romantic interest. Well, after Audrey shattered Sharon’s mood by suggesting she’s about to go into menopause, that is.

Let’s hear some feedback, fanatics.

How did you like seeing James shadowing Sharon? Did she do an okay job of calling the shots? And was she in the right for snapping at her boss after Sharon made her handle the emergency situation?

Weigh in on your thoughts for the episode. How are you liking Camden Casey? How about Bode’s future now that he’s out of prison and on the road to getting his life on track?

Both Vince and Camden told Bode he has to choose what type of firefighter to be — a hardass with no life other than firefighting, or a badass firefighter dedicated to a full life with a crew, family, town, and friends. Who will he become?

Don’t forget to cast your vote for who Bode should end up with — Gabriela or Audrey.

Should Bode fight for Gabriela or try a relationship with Audrey?

As most series gear up for their fall mid-season finale, Fire Country continues to air thanks to a delayed seasonal start.

Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6 spoilers give us a sneak peek at upcoming storylines as we continue with the three-episode story arc to introduce Fire Captain Camden Casey, played by the impressively talented Jared Padalecki.

Fans — and the firefighters — had varying feelings on the newest addition to Bode’s impressionable life.

Camden captains Bode
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

We’ve seen everyone close to Bode try keeping him on a tight leash for all three seasons. We get it, given his track record for brash decision-making, which did land him in prison.

Not to mention the narcissistic hero complex that often leads him into dangerous situations that put himself and others at risk.

Bode is just as quick to do things his own way as to follow the strict procedural guidelines expected by Cal Fire.

Especially when you’re in fire training.

During Bode’s Phase 1 and 2 training, he worked under Jake, who held him to a strict obedience, with zero room for cowboy antics.

Bode was good at toeing the line and acting as a team player that Jake said he could teach. Although he told Camden that Bode is hard to captain in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 5. We all know that’s code for controlling.

(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

Jake had a major conflict with Casey’s methods of captaining Bode during his Phase 3 training.

Because while Jake and Bode’s parents want to keep Bode leashed, Casey wants to see Bode break out of his restraints and embrace his wild side.

It works for Camden. Why wouldn’t it work for his protege?

In Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6, Casey will continue coaching Bode as Station 42 and Three Rock handle a fire at a bird sanctuary.

The team will be responsible for saving our country’s national symbol and their human caretakers. The workers at an eagle sanctuary refuse to leave without their birds. We expect it to become a flighty situation.

Eve and a bird rehab worker mark off a scene
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

Fire Country continues to find new ways to explore the unique niche of having prison firefighters work alongside professional first responders to protect their community. I can’t recall another show that has done a rescue at a bird sanctuary.

And who doesn’t love the majestic look of a regal bald eagle? If you’ve never seen them in real life, they’re a sight to behold in flight.

Now that we’re back to a full-season format, there’s enough room to explore more of our favorite support characters, like Eve. We met her brother in the previous episode, which was a fun Walker reunion.

How cool that Jared Padalecki’s Fire Country debut was shared with his former Walker co-star Jeff Pierre (Trey Bennett), who joined Fire Country as Elijah Edwards, brother of Eve.

It’s been fun seeing more of Eve’s story, but we’re not done, given Elijah’s ultimatum at the end of his reunion with Eve.

Eve talks to a bird ranger
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

They’re good.

But now Eve has to make peace with their parents if she wants to be there when Elijah’s baby is born. Hopefully, the appeal of becoming Auntie Eve will inspire her to bridge the gap and make the first move to reuniting with her parents.

Bode finally seems to be in a good place with his parents and life. He’ll be starting a new job as Smokey’s bartender and trying to move out of his parents’ house.

He’d like to shack up with Gabriela, but she put the brakes on their relationship. Not that she minds calling him up when she wants to indulge in a moment of debauchery. If Bode did her like she did him, she’d read him the riot act.

After Bode’s intense moment of fascination with fellow inmate Audrey James in the bar as she and Vince blew the roof off the place with their soul-crushing rendition of “Vice,” we hope Gabriela becomes a thing of the past.

It was like that song was written for Bode’s current situation.

Everyone fell in love with James (Leven Rambin) as she belted out Miranda Lambert in sultry fashion. I developed an instant addiction and put this video on repeat. I’m obsessed!

Please let us see more of this duo in the future. Like every episode.

As has become a Fire Country perfection, the episode left off with the cliffhanger of Gabriela calling Bode to come to the RV. But he hadn’t answered. Maybe that’s a good sign of progress away from her.

Hopefully, we won’t see him doing another walk of shame as he sneaks out of his parents’ RV, where Gabriela has been hiding in self-loathing.

Vince and Camden consult
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

Just say no!

The Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6 promo shows Casey giving Bode some strong advice that no one will like him saying. Sharon and Jake already hate him. Eve and Vince haven’t weighed in.

And he certainly won’t be at the top of Gabriela’s list after he gives it to Bode straight.

Captain Casey bluntly calls Bode out about his focus. If he wants to be the best, he has to lose all distractions.

It makes Bode think seriously and inspires a crucial conversation with Gabriela. We’re hoping he’s the one to finally put things to bed and stop going to bed with her. If Manny can’t get through to him, hopefully Camden can.

Throughout Fire Country Season 3, we’ve seen that Bode is willing to sacrifice his career and future to meet Gabriela’s needs.

He took a patient’s medical alert necklace off to hide Gabriela’s mistake, a move that Jake discovered nearly cost Bode and Gabriela their jobs.

If he wants to make it onto the roster at Station 42 to fight fires with his family, he has to stop letting Good Time Bode come out to play. Having the love of your life playing tug-of-war with your emotions is not good for your headspace.

Gabriela looks concerned
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

We still have to learn more about Sharon’s health scare, which the doctor says is all in her head. Is her stress manifesting symptoms, or is the doctor overlooking something?

Vince’s health issues have also been largely unmentioned recently, so there should be more soon, possibly before the show’s fall break.

We’ll have one more episode to look forward to featuring Camden Casey as the Phase 3 Training Officer. After the impact his entrance made, it’s going to be depressing to have his character on the show for only three episodes.

I usually don’t look forward to expanding universes, but I’m actually interested in Jared Padalecki’s potential Fire Country: Surfside spinoff. His character would make a great lead.

Camden lectures Bode
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

On a good note, we’ll see more of Sheriff Deputy Mickey Fox soon, priming us for the second Fire Country spinoff, Sheriff Country, coming in 2025.

We also still have to see where Jake is heading in his life now that he’s not the sole caretaker of Genevieve, his fiance’s daughter.

Hopefully, he’ll be able to move on and find love again after losing Cara.

Maybe he and Gabriela could get back together and have a second chance at a happily ever after without Bode interrupting. Personally, I prefer that relationship.

Speaking of second chances, we still have more to come with Gabriela’s drama and childish anger toward her dad. Despite his attempts to reconcile with her in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 5, she’s still acting like a temperamental toddler.

Manny takes a moment to reflect
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

How do you feel about Fire Country Season 3 progress?

Are you enjoying the influx of new characters and the potential for spinoffs?

And what’s your opinion of Camden Casey?

Let us know in the comments!
