If you’re like us, Manish Dayal’s casting was one of the most exciting announcements for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon‘s sophomore season.

The AMC spinoff was already one of the most buzzworthy of the franchise.

With visually arresting cinematography, thanks to the sprawling French scenery and creepy, cool zombie iterations, TWD: Daryl Dixon distinguished itself and provided a refreshingly unique experience that still preserved the essence of what we knew and loved about the titular character and mother series.

And Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol promises to elevate that further, reuniting the gruff redneck with his formidable badass best friend, Carol, delivering more must-see content for one of the franchise’s most revered dynamic duos.

But TWD: Daryl Dixon – Book of Carol will also introduce another compelling duo amid Carol’s quest to find her friend, Carol and Ash.

We had the privilege of catching up with a TV Fanatic favorite, Manish Dayal, the talented, thoughtful actor who brings Ash to life.

We discuss everything from what makes Ash a character who resonates with viewers to the thrill of joining the popular franchise, working alongside the incredible Melissa McBride, and a little The Resident nostalgia.

Check it out!

Did you have any trepidation about joining such a massive franchise like this, or was it just all excitement?

It was all excitement. I went in knowing so little and then learning so much on the ground from Melissa [McBride], Norman [Reedus], Greg Nicotero, and co.

They were all so welcoming and great and educated me on the world and the show’s tone. I saw some episodes from season one before coming on board to get the feel, tone, and energy of the show, and I was excited to be a part of it.

Everyone loves action and zombies. Ironically, I’m not a big horror fan, but I’ve always loved the TWD franchise’s rich character-focused storytelling. So, who is Ash, what is his story, and how did you bring him to life so well?

Oh, for sure! To touch on what you said, another thing about the show that I find so fantastic and meaningful is that each character is so rich and devoted. The writers are just devoted to their history and past, playing in their current moments.

Each character has a rich, big history woven in so well, making for powerful characters. Ash is a guy who is mourning a loss. As a result, he’s become sort of a recluse and protected himself on a compound that he built himself as a former engineer. He lives this regimented, scheduled life.

Ash lives as a recluse in TWD: Daryl Dixon - Book of Carol.
(Emmanuel Guimier/AMC)

For him, it’s his way of controlling his existence, survival, and future. And he’s just so devoted to that reclusive lifestyle and that way of protecting himself and keeping people far away from him. It’s how he’s made it this far in the apocalypse.

He’s an edgy guy with a lot going on underneath his hard exterior and a lot of pain and grief that comes to the surface when Carol comes into his life.

She’s able to connect with him, and they form a friendship that is, at first, built on trust, and it allows him to open up a little bit for the first time in a very long time. Without her, he wouldn’t have been able to go on such a wild and important journey for his life, future, and survival.

Carol and Ash’s Complex Dynamic is Rooted in Mutual Understanding and Grief

You touched on my next question. I was going to ask you about that dynamic between Carol and Ash. Of course, you’re getting rave reviews for your performance and your chemistry with Melissa McBride.

Can you talk more about that dynamic and Melissa as your scene partner?

It was fantastic. Melissa is a terrific actress and a great scene partner.

She’s very generous and was able to work with me on the scenes, fine-tune what we wanted to say and do in certain scenes with our director, of course, and bring those things to life. She’s great and a lot of fun.

I found working with her to be very enjoyable. We were always laughing and having a good time, which made the work much better.

This is a show where these people are a family, so coming into this space as the new guy in this established world, I was just there to listen, learn, and see what they were doing that created such a powerful franchise over the years, and they’ve done so much.

Carol rides Daryl's motorcycle as she searches for him in TWD- Daryl Dixon Season 2.
(Emmanuel Guimier/AMC)

I was able to lean on her for a lot of things that were unknown to me, and I appreciate what you said about the great response to the character. I heard a little bit about it yesterday, which is super exciting.

The chemistry between Ash and Carol is definitely undeniable because they have a lot of things in common.

They both are searching for something, and they share a grief. People who share grief can connect with each other in a very visceral way because they’re able to communicate nonverbally; they understand what the other person is going through emotionally and what loss has done to their lives.

As a result, their relationship has moved at warp speed because they understand each other and know why the other is behaving a certain way. Loyalty and your past are super important to both of these characters.

Ash opens his door to Carol, and she realizes what a big deal that is. These two characters certainly form a quick bond and go on a really incredible journey together.

The Importance and Fun of Representation in Action and Genre Programming

Ash is locked and loaded amid the apocalypse in TWD: Daryl Dixon S02.
(Emmanuel Guimier/AMC)

The franchise is a delicate balance of profoundly emotional character work and physical action. Do you prefer one over the other, or did you enjoy getting to do both?

As an actor, I typically do pretty dramatic work, but the action elements in this show were so cool and fun that I want to do a lot more of them.

There’s something about this genre that I really connect to, and being a part of this action-driven space, and this genre space is very interesting. You get to flex totally different muscles.

There are certain realities you can throw away that don’t really apply in this horror genre space.

I’ve said it before: Ash is a character that I certainly didn’t see on TV when I was growing up. To see it now in this space, an Asian guy wielding an ax and a gun in the apocalypse is really cool and super compelling. We haven’t seen it on TV much.

Ash is strapped and ready for the apocalypse in TWD: Daryl Dixon.
(Emmanuel Guimier/AMC)

When I saw you were cast for it, I was like, “Oh my god, this is gonna be so awesome,” partially because you don’t see that representation often. I recently watched Monkey Man, which brought up a similar thought process about how there aren’t enough Brown action stars.

Dev Patel is brilliant! Outstanding. Outstanding film.

He’s amazing, but okay, let me stay on track because I can go on.

No, but to your point, it’s important. It is a really interesting thing to think about. We don’t see that often in the action space, so it was even more exciting for me to be part of it here.

In The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Location is Its Own Character

The series primarily films in France, right? How did the locale inspire and influence your performance as an actor? It has to be pretty cool.

Oh, it definitely influences. I’ve shot in France before, so I’m familiar with some of the landscapes and just the beauty of the countryside.

These remote locations only illustrate how strange these people’s reality is and how separated they are from the real world.

These sweeping locations take you in and out of urban, decayed environments, and these beautiful landscapes widen the scope of the show.

It also tells you a lot about the characters because of those who choose to live where they live.

Daryl in reflection during TWD: Daryl Dixon Season 2.
(Stéphanie Branchu/AMC)

Location plays a big part in TWD: Daryl Dixon, whether it’s people living in the city center, Saint-Michel, or Paris. Whereas Ash and Carol are in this remote location, a compound Ash built high up on a cliff, likely because he’s a pilot, where no one can access it.

Yes, when watching the series, the location feels like its own character, adding to the experience and storytelling.

Hats off to David Zabel, who was able to conceptualize this world and put these people in remarkable situations to see their behavior, how they interact with each other, and how they ultimately get what they’re looking for.

I think he did such a good job with the show and staying true to The Walking Dead tone and franchise, but also creating something new, special, and sort of intimate, if you will.

The Walking Dead: Dary Dixon Season 2 Delivers Long-Awaited Reunion and Compelling Character Dives

Carol is searching for her friend in TWD: Daryl Dixon - Book of Carol.
(Emmanuel Guimier/AMC)

What more can you tease about this season or your character? What are you most excited for the audience to see?

Well, what I can say is that I recently just screened season two, and it’s one of the most compelling and interesting six hours of TV I’ve seen in a very, very long time. It is fantastic.

It takes you on so many twists and turns and keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. Daryl and Carol’s relationship is rooted in so much history, and their chemistry is wild. Watching them takes you on a journey; their performance together is very special.

And seeing them come together is a big victory. The show bends the genre in so many ways. The performances are so great, the locations are amazing.

Nicotera’s work with the zombies is remarkable. I don’t know how he does it, but it’s remarkable what he’s able to do, how creative he is, and the world he’s painting for us.

Ash’s Integral Role in Carol’s Arc is a Must-See

Manish Dayal as Ash in TWD: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol.
( Emmanuel Guimier/AMC)

In terms of what’s ahead for Ash, he plays an integral part in Carol’s journey to France and, ultimately, whatever happens after that.

Is he going to be part of helping them or not? We don’t really know. You’ll have to watch the show to find out those things.

Ash, Carol, and all the characters are going on a journey that ultimately forces them to leave their comfort zones, change everything about themselves, go towards an unknown future, and take a lot of risks. They’re all pushed to their impossible limits.

It all sounds so exciting! It’s a bit of a throwaway question, but would you direct an episode if the opportunity ever presented itself?

Hell. Yes. Without a shadow of a doubt, if they would have me, I would do it in a heartbeat. Without a doubt!

The Resident Nostalgia and Revisiting the Series

Chastain Guys -tall - The Resident Season 6 Episode 11
(Tom Griscom/FOX)

I know you were so generous to us on The Resident, so I really appreciate all of your support with the show and the episodes I directed. You’re really important to us, so thank you.

Oh, God, that was really sweet. Thank you so much.

I love The Resident. I started my journey here at TV Fanatic by covering it. It was my baby, so the show, cast, and crew always have a really special place in my heart. I love you guys; you’re amazing.

The Resident is having a resurgence now that it’s on Netflix. People are falling in love with this series all over again.

For sure. It’s super exciting to see people who discover the show six years later and for the series to develop a whole new audience. It’s pretty cool.

We’re in a revival and reboot craze. Would you ever be interested in a reboot/revival of The Resident?

I think so. I think the entire cast would be down for that. We remain friends, and we’re all very close. I could speak for most of them and say we’d love to do it.

You can catch Manish Dayal as Ash in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol, which premieres September 29 at 9/8c on AMC.

Witches, and ghosts, and vampires, oh my! AMC is solidifying itself as the go-to network for visually compelling and brilliantly written fantasy shows, and The Talamasca is ready to continue that trend.

Furthering the expansion of the Immortal Universe of Anne Rice’s novels, the network has had more success than anyone could have expected with its supernatural stories.

Unlike the current entries in the Immortal Universe, The Talamasca will be a different kind of show. Where there is a central supernatural focus for Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches, The Talamasca will explore every supernatural avenue.

(Courtesy of AMC)

The name likely won’t mean much to anyone who isn’t a fan of the Anne Rice novels. Even if you watched the Interview with the Vampire film, The Talamasca would be foreign to you.

However, if you enjoyed the Queen of The Damned with the late Aaliyah in the titular role, then you have a leg up. For everyone else, though, TV Fanatic has you covered because here is everything we know so far about The Talamasca Season 1!

When Was The Talamasca Green Lit for Season 1?

After the success of Interview with the Vampire, the big wigs at AMC saw an opportunity to grow a franchise and began adding titles to their Immortal Universe.

In April 2023, AMC announced that a third title would be coming to the budding franchise. In June 2024, The Talamasca was officially greenlit.

Dan McDermott, president of entertainment at AMC Studios for AMC Networks, said of the development, “This is a story we’ve been developing and wanting to tell from the earliest moments of this franchise, focused on a fascinating and compelling secret society that has already appeared in both of our existing Anne Rice series, The Talamasca.

Dinner Time - Interview with the Vampire Season 2 Episode 2
(Larry Horricks/AMC)

As with all of these shows, we are thrilled to have such a high level of talent involved, represented here by John Lee Hancock and Mark Lafferty, and of course, working closely with producer Mark Johnson as the creative head of our Anne Rice Immortal Universe.”

It sounds like AMC doesn’t mind putting its eggs all in the Immortal Universe’s basket!

What Is The Talamasca About?

The series will feature the men and women responsible for tracking and containing the witches, vampires, werewolves, and other creatures scattered around the globe.

Not a lot to work with there. However, if you’ve kept up with Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches, you know the series has plenty of stories to work with. At this stage in production, we can only speculate what direction The Talamasca will go in.

They might try to create a story that encompasses both Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches. Or, the show might focus on a case or monster of the week format. The only thing we know for sure is that the powers that be for The Talamasca want something different, as mirrored by the head of The Immortal Universe, Mark Johnson.

Lasher and Rowan Dance
(Pompo Bresciani/AMC)

Here’s what the award-winning producer had to say:

“With the second season of Interview with the Vampire currently receiving the best reviews of any show on television and with the production of Mayfair Witches about to wrap in Ireland, promising an even more compelling and unnerving second season, the question is what do we now add to the Immortal Universe of Anne Rice?

The answer is a completely different show from the first two, but a show that nevertheless belongs under the Anne Rice umbrella. The Talamasca marries the procedural spy thriller with the supernatural and expands the thrills and the pleasures of our franchise’s ambitions.”

Again, there is not much to translate or decipher from that quote. Still, his confidence comes in loud and clear. If The Talamasca is even remotely as good as Interview with the Vampire or Mayfair Witches, AMC has another hit on its hands.

How Many Episodes Will The Talamasca Season 1 Have?

The Talamasca is slated for a six-episode season. The number is only an episode or two shy from its sister series.

As mentioned above, we can only guess the series’ format. Another great setup would be if the show adopted the same formula as Marvel’s What If…? series.

Each episode could be a stand-alone that works into a larger, over-arching story.

Who Is In The Talamasca Season 1?

Actor Nicholas Denton (Photo by Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images for STARZ)

At the moment, this is a pretty short list. Don’t be surprised if we throw a complete cast list to you out of nowhere. Networks are funny about how they deliver information.

One second, they’ll be giving audiences crumbs to work with. The next, you know everything down to the social security number of actors, directors, and showrunners.

Nicholas Denton (Dangerous Liaisons) has been cast as Guy Anatole, and William Fichtner (The Company You Keep) has been cast as Jasper. That’s the list for now, but with production underway, it is likely to grow soon.

Actor William Fichtner (Photo by PATRICIA DE MELO MOREIRA/AFP via Getty Images)

Variety learned that Downton Abbey’s Elisabeth McGovern has also joined the cast.

According to their coverage, McGovern has landed the series regular role of Helen.

She’s described as “a seasoned veteran of the Talamasca and the leader of its New York Motherhouse.

She has long suspected that London’s Motherhouse has fallen under the influence of traitorous elements, and a mysterious death prompts her to recruit Guy Anatole (Denton), who will become her protégé.”

Actress Elizabeth McGovern (Photo by Chris Jackson – Pool/Getty Images)

However, the actual names to look for are the ones writing and executive producing the series: John Lee Hancock (Snow White and the Huntsman) and Mark Lafferty (Castle Rock).

These two cool cats are going to make all the big decisions about The Talamasca. So, no pressure or anything.

Regarding this little passion project, John Lee Hancock said, “This all started for me with a call from Mark Johnson, who asked if I’d ever heard of The Talamasca.

I was intrigued by the idea of an organization that, to me, had more than a passing resemblance to the CIA or MI6, which are necessary but not always necessarily transparent.

An organization with its own secrets. Thankfully, Dan McDermott liked the take, and so did Mark Lafferty, who is so talented and accomplished in the world of television.

Many thanks to everyone from Gran Via to Mark Lafferty, to our talented writers, and everyone at AMC who have been supporters, advocates, and cheerleaders from day one.

I couldn’t be more thrilled to be involved and look forward to presenting a third series in the Anne Rice Immortal Universe.”

Producer John Lee Hancock (Photo by Robin L Marshall/Getty Images)

Sounds like he’s even more excited than we are. That’s always a good sign! Plus, we know who to blame if it sucks. I don’t think it will, but I would like to know who all the complaints should be directed to.

Is There a Trailer for The Talamasca Season 1?

There is currently no trailer outlining the details of The Talamasca Season 1.

However, TV Fanatic has your back. Once we obtain a trailer for this super-secret organization, we will get it into the hands of TV Fanatics everywhere!

Where Can I Watch The Talamasca Season 1?

It hasn’t been confirmed whether or not The Talamasca will air on AMC or be an AMC+ show only. Either way, AMC is where you want to go to check out this supernatural series.

Producer Mark Lafferty (Photo by Jerod Harris/Getty Images for Film Independent)

If The Talamasca does air on the AMC channel, episodes will be available on the app the next day.

When Is The Premiere Date For The Talamasca Season 1?

Currently, The Talamasca is expected to premiere in 2025. Principal photography will take place in Manchester during the Fall of 2024. It’s possible the series will premiere before Mayfair Witches Season 2.

It’s a wonder we have any information at all when photography hasn’t even taken place yet. Considering how the hands behind The Talamasca feel, I wouldn’t be surprised if the series premieres in the Spring or Summer seasons rather than the Fall.

Writer and executive producer Mark Lafferty instills confidence with his thoughts on the project: “When John told me about a clandestine organization in the Immortal Universe with its own hidden agendas, I was immediately hooked.

I’ve admired his writing and directing for so long, and to be working with him is a true honor and thrill.

Lestat In Character - IWTV S02E03 - No Pain - Interview with the Vampire Season 2 Episode 3
(Larry Horricks/AMC)

Many thanks to Dan McDermott and all the incredibly talented people at AMC for their tireless support and talent, and to Mark Johnson — there is no better producer to learn from and work beside than him.”

At least we know it’ll make it to the airwaves next year. Thankfully, AMC has been knocking it out of the part with programming.

What Other Shows Are Premiering?

Sure, we have to wait until next year to check out this exciting series, but it’s not all bad news! AMC has a whole roster of incredible shows coming your way to keep viewers entertained in the meantime.

If you’re ready for a series where the call is coming from inside the house, check out the AMC psychological thriller based on the popular novels from Tony Hillerman, Dark Winds, returning for its third season in 2025.

Seeking Connection - Dark Winds
(Michael Moriatis/AMC)

The thrills and chills don’t end there. For another dose of creepiness for the spooky season, tune in to The Terror when it returns for its third season in 2025.

The network may have an unhealthy obsession with the supernatural as The Walking Dead: Dead City returns for another round of adventures with franchise favorites Maggie and Negan as they traverse the post-apocalyptic landscape.

If blood, sex, and magic are how you spend your Sunday nights, check in with the witches of Mayfair when Mayfair Witches returns for its second season in 2025.

The Talamasca has plenty of heavy-hitting names and incredible plots to draw from. We can only hope AMC continues to turn Anne Rice’s novels into a franchise that every generation can sink its fangs into.

After an intense and thrilling first season, Orphan Black: Echoes has concluded its exciting introduction into the franchise family.

Coming from a beloved cult classic, the odds were stacked against this incredible series.

Orphan Black: Echoes brought a more straightforward and cleaner story than its parent show.

(AMC/Screenshot)

And while fans are still reticent to jump on board, those who have do not regret their decision.

We met very well-developed characters and reintroduced ourselves to fan-favorite franchise characters.

More than anything, audiences got an experience they will never forget about what it means to be human.

Orphan Black: Echoes delivered a wild ride of science fiction proportions and ensured the first season ended with a bang—a literal bang.

When It Comes To Storytelling, Orphan Black: Echoes Delivers A Cleaner Plot Than Its Parent Series

The story of Orphan Black: Echoes took a very different approach to its plot than Orphan Black’s.

Krysten Ritter
(AMC/Screenshot)

In the first season of the original series, the focus was on figuring out why there were clones and keeping Kira safe.

While some of those themes were still present, Orphan Black: Echoes was more proactive with its pace.

Rather than jumping from clone to clone to give each their own arc, this series ensured everyone’s plots were as closely connected as possible.

In that sense, I think AMC‘s Orphan Black: Echoes is a better show.

The stakes were much more obvious, and any pertinent plot points were clearly defined and easy to follow.

While the show lacked camp, its distinct focus on heart lent a great deal of grounding to Orphan Black: Echoes.

Vinson Tran as Xander
(AMC/Screenshot)

However, things will likely be headed for a clone-tastic storyline should the series receive another season.

By introducing multiple clones of different people, Orphan Black: Echoes expands its world organically and moves the story to more significant stakes.

And bigger is always better when it comes to a second season.

Kira Can’t Kick Her Connection To Clones For As Long As The Franchise Exists

If there is a second season, that could mean a world of trouble for Kira. Who knew Rhona was going to suck so hard?

To be fair, someone was always likely to find out about the printing, so blackmail was inevitable.

Alice Hamid
(AMC/Screenshot)

Still, it sucks for Lucas, but maybe it’ll mean he’ll get far away from the Quakers.

Orphan Black: Echoes may try to bring back the extreme religious zealots that Orphan Black enjoyed incorporating.

With Eleanor (Rya Kihlstedt) and Lucas by Kira’s side, she may turn herself in, but that won’t fix her problem.

Darros was only the tip of the iceberg. Once governments discover the printing machine, there will be a whole world of genetic catastrophes.

So, one way or another, Kira’s ordinary life is long gone, and she may even end up on the run. Like mother, like daughter.

Although, she might want to stick around since Darros has a scan of her.

Rya Kihlstedt as Eleanor, Keeley Hawes as Kira
(AMC/Screenshot)

It’s a compliment when you consider what Paul Darros’ plan is.

Paul Darros Was Trying To Serve Antagonist, But All He Gave Was Annoying

We’ve always known Paul was a nut job from his first appearance, but I was surprised he was so ruthless.

He wasn’t the most complex villain. If anything, he was an amalgamation of multiple villain tropes.

The whole soft-spoken billionaire villain who does things for the greater good has been done. Have you ever heard of Lex Luther?

So, if I were to fault Orphan Black: Echoes for anything, it would be for a lackluster villain.

James Hiroyuki Liao as Darros
(AMC/Screenshot)

He never inspired even a tenth of the intimidation of Rachel Duncan from Orphan Black.

However, I’ll give the writers one thing. Paul’s plan was actually kind of refreshing and exciting.

He’s made an orphanage of super-geniuses. While that might sound good on paper, it’s as if Paul hasn’t been paying attention all season.

Does he really think none of his printouts will be curious about where they came from? And where there is one renegade clone, there are many more.

Paul is digging his own grave by creating twelve young proteges that could turn on him.

In the end, though, Paul does not need to worry about the clones. He does not even need to be concerned with Kira.

Krysten Ritter
(AMC/Screenshot)

No, if Orphan Black: Echoes receives another season, Darros will need to watch his back for Lucy.

Hopefully, Orphan Black: Echoes Isn’t Done With Audiences The Same Way Lucy Isn’t Done With Darros

I don’t know about you, but I jumped forward, eyes wide and mouth open, when Paul shot Jules in the head at point-blank range.

That absolutely floored me. I was as stunned as Lucy, with a facial expression to match.

That was genuinely unexpected and fantastic plotting. Anything that incites emotions in viewers is always a good idea.

After watching Jules’ (Amanda Fix) journey, her death felt like losing a friend.

Krysten Ritter as Lucy, Amanda Fix as Jules
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

If Lucy felt even a fracture of the anger that the scene evoked in me, Paul is a dead man.

We’re about to see Krysten Ritter dip back into her Jessica Jones days. With Jack and Charlie gone, Lucy has nothing left to lose.

While Kira may have created the printing machine, Paul has been responsible for every bad thing that has happened.

She’ll likely go full Rambo if she manages to make it out of Darros’ compound. God only knows how Kira and Eleanor will react to the news of Jules.

More importantly, there’s no getting around that lost shot of the Jules clone. What was that wig?

James Hiroyuki Liao and Amanda Fix
(AMC/Screenshot)

It looks like Orphan Black: Echoes has access to the many wigs used in Orphan Black. I’m hoping they get a better one, should the series return. That wig was rough.

All in all, Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 was amazing.

Sure, one or two episodes saw a lull, but overall, the show was phenomenal.

Hopefully, the “Printout Posse” minus one can continue their exciting story and take it to even greater heights.

Whatever the case, I will always be happy I got to experience the sensational storytelling of Orphan Black: Echoes.

Were you as floored as me when Darros shot Jules?

What direction will the show go in if it gets renewed?

You can’t keep a copy down when it comes to the characters of Orphan Black: Echoes.

The series has done a fantastic job separating itself from its parent series. Until now, I have been reticent about making too many comparisons between the two.

However, Orphan Black: Echoes deserves praise for distinguishing itself from the original Orphan Black.

Krysten Ritter as Lucy, Avan Jogia as Jack
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Sure, there’s a bigger budget, but a show is much more than its money.

While Orphan Black: Echoes doesn’t have nearly as much camp as the original, it boasts a more robust, cleaner story.

By focusing on multiple aged versions of printouts, the series adds a different kind of depth to the idea of multiple copies of a single individual.

Orphan Black: Echoes Brings A New Kind Of Depth And Complexity To Its Characters

The mystery of who Lucy was and where she came from was a strong premise for a follow-up to the cult classic.

Rather than slow-burning viewers into the concept of printouts, Orphan Black: Echoes took the direct route.

Keeley Hawes as Kira Manning
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

That was incredibly smart because it made it easier for viewers to focus on Lucy, Jules, and Eleanor’s complexity.

By having three clones from various points in the original’s life, audiences can make a more personal connection, both in terms of similarities and differences.

That also means it will be even more devastating if one of the “Printout Posse” should end up dead.

I don’t wish for anyone from Lucy’s (Krysten Ritter) team to get cooked, but it would make for an exciting plot down the road. Especially if printing again is an option.

And the fact that Kira is the sole reason for this new catastrophic technology is wild.

After everything her mother went through, it’s still hard to wrap my head around, but the thought of losing the love of your life is a massive motivator.

Keeley Hawes as Kira Manning, Amanda Fix as Jules, Rya Kihlstedt as Eleanor
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Grieving people are well known to do some truly crazy things.

Orphan Black: Echoes Has Made Massive Stride To Connect To The Original Series

Now that Kira has seen the error of her ways, what does that mean for the series?

On the one hand, they need to stop Darros, but on the other hand, can Orphan Black: Echoes keep things interesting without any new printouts?

Everyone on the creative team has clearly been working their butts off to keep the story fresh.

They deserve praise for bringing in familiar faces from the original Orphan Black.

Keeley Hawes as Kira Manning
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

No doubt, once fans of the cult classic finally get the chip off their shoulder and give Orphan Black: Echoes a try, they’ll appreciate the writers for connecting the two.

Between Uncle Felix and Aunt Delphine, Orphan Black: Echoes is spoon-feeding nostalgia to fans.

Seeing these original characters years later in this new series makes it feel like Orphan Black grew up and evolved into the show it was always meant to be.

That’s not to say the original wasn’t perfect exactly as it was. Just that Orphan Black: Echoes is, in a way, a tribute to everything that the original story and characters achieved.

It is hard to believe that the little girl from the first season of Orphan Black grew up to be a brilliant scientist who cloned a distraught Lucy.

Krysten Ritter Continues To Be A Beacon Of Talent For The AMC Series

Krysten Ritter as Lucy
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

It also doesn’t seem like Lucy is going to catch a break any time soon.

Did anyone else feel like they were being water-boarded with Craig’s possible death?

At first, I thought, “Oh, good. Craig is fine. Lucy won’t be devastated.”

Then you all know that he spent the entire episode bleeding out. Only he didn’t notice it because he thought he had peed on himself.

And we have to give it up to Krysten Ritter because she really went in on the acting. You can’t tell me she wasn’t actually sobbing and crying in front of Craig.

I genuinely thought he was going to die, but I’m glad he didn’t because that would’ve been lazy writing for AMC. And mean.

Keeley Hawes as Kira Manning, Amanda Fix as Jules, Rya Kihlstedt as Eleanor, Vinson Tran as Xander
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Thank goodness for Jack because Craig’s stubborn ass would’ve never made it through the night.

Sadly, it was a bad news/good news situation. Jack seems done with Lucy, and I can’t blame him.

Lucy never meant to bring so much chaos to Jack and Charlie’s lives, but what’s done is done.

There’s no going back, and everything is coming to a head that will likely force Lucy to make some hard decisions.

Jack, however, has it a little simpler. He wants to keep Charlie safe.

It’s Bodies On Bodies On Bodies With The Printout Posse Looking At The Possibility Of More Clones

Rya Kihlstedt as Eleanor
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

I can’t believe they had Charlie absent for so many episodes just to bring her back to get kidnapped.

They lightly “fridged” her.

For those who don’t know, that’s when a female character is attacked in one fashion or another to motivate the male character.

That being said, kidnapping a child is precisely something that a douche like Tom would do.

And it happened after I thought there could be a decent person under that basic-bro.

What kind of person likes Celine Dion and snatches kids in their free time?

Keeley Hawes as Kira Manning
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

In my previous episode review, I said that Craig’s death would galvanize Lucy.

I was clearly thinking too small because this situation will probably bring out Lucy’s “mama bear” side.

So, while Lucy and Jack deal with Darros’s henchmen, Eleanor (Rya Kihlstedt) and Kira can figure out what Paul Darros is doing.

Jules (Amanda Fix) can continue to babysit Xander’s unhinged ass as he deals with his existential crisis.

At least we have a better understanding of Paul’s plan now. I had said that it was doubtful that his plan involved money. He’s already a billionaire.

We know twelve body scans have been pre-picked for printing.

Krysten Ritter as Lucy, Jonathan Whittaker as Craig
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Now, we need to find out who those people are and why they are so important.

If the series gets picked up for another season, it’ll probably revolve around finding these printouts.

It would also be great to see Kira’s (Keeley Hawes) mother, Sarah.

However, that’s a tall order since whoever plays the elderly leader of the “Clone Club” will have to face scrutiny from fans of the original.

We’re down to the wire with the last episode. It’s all coming to a head.

I am already at the edge of my seat with the possibilities.

Keeley Hawes as Kira Manning, Vinson Tran as Xander
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Orphan Black: Echoes has been such a fantastic series.

As a spinoff, the creators crafted the perfect story for new viewers while still trying to cater to the OG fans.

That said, if anything happens to Charlie, I will absolutely lose it!

Do you have theories about what Paul is planning with the body scans?

What do you think Lucy will do once they stop Darros?

Some TV show restaurants know how to make food correctly and make fans wish they could get in their cars and order some delicious creations.

This eclectic mix of fine dining restaurants with Michelin Star dreams to TV show diners puts real-life restaurants to shame.

Whether the featured restaurant is the show’s center, the hangout spot for characters, a front, or a simple side story, these on-screen eateries will tantalize taste buds.

The Bear has some of the most dedicated chefs and staff ever featured on a TV show.
(FX on Hulu/Youtube Screenshot)

In no particular order, here are the top restaurants on TV shows that give real-world restaurants a bad name.

Just reading about them will make you hungry!

The Bear — The Bear

Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto has made The Bear, the show and restaurant, one of the premier TV restaurants ever.

His expectations are high, and anything short of perfection is a failure.

“If it’s not perfect, it doesn’t go out,” says Carmy. His list of non-negotiables includes less is more, vibrant collaboration, pushing boundaries, and constantly evolving creativity.

With the bar set that high, how could its fare not be top-notch and put real-life restaurants to shame? The fact it is set in Chicago also raises the bar.

On and off-screen, the windy city is made for foodies.

Opening a restaurant there is no easy feat. You need expertise, dedication, and a competitive edge in the city’s saturated market.

The Bear is one of the best TV restaurants for fine dining ran by chef/owner Carmy.
(FX on Hulu/Youtube Screenshot)

Only time will tell what happens to The Bear, but with a picture wall of all Chicago food critics, the food itself, and the staff’s pure willpower, it is undoubtedly one of the best TV restaurants.

Bluth’s Original Frozen Bananas — Arrested Development

Besides the fact that there is always money in the banana stand and that it has been ruined and rebuilt multiple times, Bluth’s frozen banana stand is an Arrested Development staple.

However, it is much more than a frozen banana concession.

Menu items include the George Daddy, the G.O.B, the On the Go-Go Banana, the Giddy-Girly Banana, the Simple Simon, and, of course, the OG Frozen Banana.

It’s basically a main character, and since it has been operating for so long as a Newport Beach icon, it must be doing something right with those scrumptious frozen bananas.

The Bluth's Original Frozen Bananas stand famous in Balboa Island and is one of the best imaginary eateries.

Guigino’s — It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

According to the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia gang, Guigino’s is Philly’s best eatery and the only restaurant featured multiple times throughout the show.

It’s a place where the crew experiences some of their most celebrated, hilarious, and disastrous moments.

It is a nicer TV restaurant, known for its “fresh fish daily” and piping hot plates of spaghetti.

The gang may not be known for having high standards, but they don’t joke around when it comes to Guigino’s or their opinions.

Considering that they have returned multiple times, including Mac and Dennis’s monthly dinner, and that it is always depicted as busy, as seen during the infamous The Gang Dines Out episode, this Italian establishment must be a top Philly restaurant.

Guigino's Italian Restaurant is one of Phily's finest TV show restaurants.
(FX/Hulu Screenshot)

Bob’s Burgers — Bob’s Burgers

Despite the lack of business and the fact the family isn’t rolling in money, there is ample proof that Bob’s Burgers serves some tasty patties, making it one of the best TV restaurants.

Not to mention the creative names given to the Burgers of the Day.

Bob’s business rival and enemy, Jimmy, even admits they are scrumptious when he recommends Bob to the yacht club, knowing the burgers will leave their mark.

Warren is stunned by the lack of success, given the amazing flavor of Bob’s burgers, and he wants desperately to invest in the restaurant.

The lack of customers in the show represents the establishment’s atmosphere and possibly the chaos brought by Tina, Louise, and Gene, definitely not the yumminess served.

With daily special names like Baby You Can Chive My Car, Poblano Picasso, A Good Manchego is Hard to Find, The Final Kraut-Down, and The Judy Garlic, how could one not want to eat there every day?

Bob's burgers speak for themselves, and the burgers of the day cannot be beat.
(Fox/Hulu Screenshot)

The Peach Pit — Beverly Hills, 90210

The Peach Pit is one of the best TV show diners and a local hangout spot for the Beverly Hills, 90210 crew.

It is owned by Nat Bussichio (Joe E. Tata), and Brandon Walsh and Dixon Wilson work there.

Classic diner menu items can be unique when they are done right.

They aren’t known for being fancy, or all that different from any other diner, but the ingredients, flavor combinations, and cooking styles are what set each apart.

The mega burger is the diner’s famed menu item.

Still, there are plenty of other mouth-watering items, like the mint chocolate marshmallow jelly bean extravaganza sundae and the tuna melt.

Then, of course, there is the peach pie, fries, and shakes.

Krusty Krabs — SpongeBob SquarePants

The Krusty Krab, a SpongeBob SquarePants mainstay, is famous for its krabby patty, and the Bikini Bottom fast food restaurant has always caught fans’ attention.

While the origin of the patty’s top-secret recipe may be a little murky, one thing is definite — people are willing to overpay to eat it.

If a restaurant was trying to sell a burger for $20 in the real world, it better be dipped in gold.

However, no one seems to mind paying the absurdly high price that Mr. Krabs, the money-hungry owner, has set.

The Krusty Krab is known for being an underwater on-screen eatery known for its krabby patty.
(Nickelodeon/Youtube Screenshot)

The other menu items, such as coral bits, kelp rings, salty sauce, the salty sea dog, and golden loaf, also keep customers returning for more.

It is the best restaurant under the sea, and the customers who keep it afloat clearly can’t get enough of those tasty patties!

Los Pollos Hermanos — Breaking Bad

The Breaking Bad Los Pollos Hermanos fast-food chicken chain may have a not-so-by-the-books way of doing business.

Still, its signature pollo is highly praised by numerous characters, and, just like Gus Fring’s other businesses, he clearly took his chicken game seriously.

Los Pollos Hermanos may be more than your average fast-food chain, but Gus has a real dedication to his chicken.
(AMC/Netflix Screenshot)

The finest ingredients are brought together with love and care and then slow-cooked to perfection, which can tickle just about anyone’s taste buds.

The restaurant oozes confidence.

Employees answer the phone with its motto: Los Pollos Hermanos, where something delicious is always cooking, and it boasts that perfection is noticeable with only one taste.

Although it may be hard to go wrong with fried chicken in any capacity, the whole Southwest region of the United States loves this place, earning it a spot as one of the best TV show restaurants.

Alamo Freeze — Friday Night Lights

Alamo Freeze is the place to hang in Dillion, Texas, and has been the place of many Friday Night Lights memorable moments.

Its ice cream, milkshakes, and sundaes are the perfect complement to a Tammy Taylor heart-to-heart, and if Tim Riggins chooses it over drinking, even once, then you know it must be worth the hype.

Alamo Freeze is a fast-food TV show restaurant and notorious hangout spot in Friday Night Lights.
(NBC/Netflix Screenshot)

Landry and Julie even spend their last night there, showcasing how vital that soft serve is to the locals.

It is the place to satisfy your sweet tooth craving and get extra jimmies!

Freddy’s BBQ — House of Cards

Frank Underwood’s restaurant of choice is Freddy’s BBQ Joint, and succulent ribs are its specialty.

So much so that the House of Cards protagonist has them delivered to his office whenever he gets a hankering.

It is the place Freddy goes to escape Capitol Hill politics and indulge in slow-cooked, tantalizing pork.

This hole-in-the-wall is one of the best TV restaurants because it is just that!

There are no frills, no delicate herbs placed on the plate with tweezers, just good old-school soul food-style BBQ, bringing in DC big wigs.

Freddy's BBQ servers mouthwatering ribs and a place for Freddy to escape.
(Netflix/Netflix Screenshot)

Mr. Cluck’s Chicken Shack — Lost

The famous Lost fast food chain, Mr. Cluck’s Chicken Shack, looks like some of the juiciest chicken seen on screen.

Of course, the Los Pollos versus Mr. Cluck’s debate is an ongoing war between these TV restaurants, and the whole getting hit by a meteor (meteorite?) thing doesn’t help Mr. Cluck’s.

Neither does Gus’s attention to cleanliness and high standards.

However, there is no denying that some of the best fried chicken comes from eateries that, like their chicken, are just greasy. But that is OKAY.

It’s about what comes out of that fryer and into your mouth, but it’s not always about whether you can eat off the restaurant’s floor.

Plus, Hugo has a real passion when it comes to chicken, and if he eats buckets of it, then it must be delectable.

Mr. Cluck's Chicken Shack is a fast-food restaurant featured in Lost.
(ABC/Netflix Screenshot)

Nuovo Vesuvio — The Sopranos

Just the fact that Nuovo Vesuvio has a person specifically hired to make mozzarella is all the information needed to understand why it’s one of the best imaginary eateries.

Not to mention the recurrence of the Italian joint on the series, and there is no way The Sopranos are eating at a less-than-par restaurant.

Tony and many other characters have numerous lunches, dinners, parties, and meetings at Nuovo Vesuvio.

Tony even dreams that he and Carmella meet Finn’s parents here.

Sure, some iffy things go on circling the food, but before Artie lost his passion for cooking, it was widely known for its superb food.

Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen in New Jersey, so the place must be doing something right.

Double R Diner — Twin Peaks

The Double R Diner on Twin Peaks is one of the most infamous TV show diners.
(ABC/Youtube Screenshot)

The Twin Peaks Double R Diner is more than just one of the many TV show diners.

It is a safe haven for the show characters, and its comforting food is a crowd-pleaser regardless of where you are from.

The coffee, donuts, and, of course, pie are staples at this local institution, and the fact it is the town’s food provider for Meals on Wheels only adds to its charm.

The wide range of menu items including veal, king crab, spaghetti, chicken fried steak, corned beef, ribs, are matched with classic breakfast and sandwich options.

The versatility speaks for itself the famous cherry pie is the perfect dessert to end a memorable meal.

Pop’s Diner — Riverdale

Pop's serves the best milkshakes out of any TV show diners.
(The CW/Netflix Screenshot)

Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe, also known as Pop’s Diner, on Riverdale is another example of how TV show diners can make fans want to jump through their screens and into a seat.

Regardless of the reason behind needing one the characters always turn to them in good and bad times.

The milkshakes that are served from this on-screen eatery are what drives business and keeps the locals coming back for more. Archie also recommends the onion rings, and they do look amazing.

And we can’t forget when Jughead takes Doiley’s sundae while questioning him and eats it.

Regardless of the restaurant style, these mainstays are just as important in their shows as the characters, and each have their own stories.

Despite the reason for being as popular as they are, or what makes the food so delectable, they are memorable fiestas of flavors.

We want to know what your favorite imaginary eateries are in the comments below!

The “Printout Posse” is all together now, but if this latest episode of Orphan Black: Echoes proves anything, it’s that together doesn’t mean the same thing as safe.

Audiences took a hit in “The Paradox of Joyce” with the loss of a very well-liked character.

Although, just about everyone on Orphan Black: Echoes feels expendable—everyone except for Kira, Lucy, Jules, and Eleanor.

Rya Kihlstedt as Eleanor, Krysten Ritter as Lucy, Amanda Fix as Jules
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

While that likely wasn’t the writers’ intention, that is how the series is starting to feel.

And I don’t just mean body count-wise, as some of the characters that were present at the start are just about completely missing at this point.

With only one more episode before the finale, it’s time that Orphan Black: Echoes starts answering some questions.

Paul Darros Is Blurring The Lines Between Ally And Enemy With The Possibility Of Leading A One-Man Army

After eight episodes, Orphan Black: Echoes has yet to answer what Paul Darros is up to.

All we know is that he is a tech billionaire interested in selling “Extended Life” to the ultra-rich and powerful.

Tattiawna Jones as Emily
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

However, it only scratches the surface. Paul is already rich as hell, so whatever his plan is, it’s not for more money.

“The Paradox of Joyce” was also the first time we saw a crack in Paul’s composure. Long gone are the calm and collected days of Darros.

Whatever it is that Jules, played by Amanda Fix, stole from him has Paul fuming. Supposedly, the Apple Watch-looking device is connected to off-shore accounts.

What might be at stake is the information for all the high-powered clients that Darros is working with.

I think it’s power, not money, that Paul Darros is after.

At least he directed all his frustration and anger at Tom. That man was due for the multiple reality checks he’s finally getting.

Tattiawna Jones as Emily, Keeley Hawes as Kira Manning
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Still, it doesn’t seem like the best time for Darros to have his people turning against him. We already know Emily was an unwilling agent.

Now that she’s working with Kira, Tom may jump ship if he can get over losing an ear.

One Of The Central Themes Of Orphan Black: Echoes Is Sacrifice, With Audiences Feeling The Losses

Kira could use all the help she can get right now. The people in her corner barely want to be there, and her family has collapsed around her.

Mrs. Manning really made a mess of things, and the writers of Orphan Black: Echoes were clever in dishing out the details over the course of six or seven episodes.

We always knew Kira, played by Keeley Hawes, was at the core of the cloning. However, I don’t think anyone expected it to be so personal.

Keeley Hawes as Kira Manning
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

I’m still very much rooting for the doctor and scientist because she is doing whatever she can to fix things.

Fans of the original Orphan Black are likely glad to see her childhood trauma and experiences are being put to good use.

She is going to fight tooth and nail to make things right. We just hope it doesn’t cost her life.

As Lucy is finding out, stopping Darros means sacrifice, and apparently, the first thing to go is family.

Luck Does Not Seem To Be On Lucy’s Side As She Struggles To Make Any Semblance Of A Life

If anyone needs a hug right now, it’s Lucy. The poor printout is losing parts of her life by the minute.

Krysten Ritter as Lucy
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

It’s been clear for a while that Charlie and Jack are no longer as high on her priorities.

To be fair, the character has been pulled in multiple directions since the first episode.

From the safe house to Jack’s farm, going on the run, and finding out there were multiple copies of her, Lucy has not had a moment to breathe.

Besides Kira, Lucy, played by Krysten Ritter, has done the most to figure out what Paul Darros is up to.

She survived a hitman and being stabbed by a scared Jules, all while avoiding Paul’s people left and right.

The woman has never had a life where she could make her own choices and relax.

Rya Kihlstedt as Eleanor, Krysten Ritter as Lucy, Amanda Fix as Jules
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Lucy was so close to securing a life for her, Jack, and Charlie. But with Craig’s death, we’re pretty sure Lucy isn’t going anywhere.

She shouldn’t go with Jack and Charlie anyway because danger seems to follow her wherever she goes.

Everyone around the “Printout Posse” seems to end up hurt one way or the other.

Orphan Black: Echoes Is Already Showing Signs Of A Crazy And Chaotic Climax

Lucas is certainly not taking the revelation of his mother’s resurrection very well.

Although, we have to give it up to Rhona. I was not expecting her to be so understanding about the situation.

Jaeden Noel as Lucas
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Maybe she can help Eleanor’s son realize that he should use the extra time with his mom to make more memories.

There’s no guarantee that Kira will be able to find a cure for Elle’s condition.

And with Paul turning the heat up on Kira, it’ll be hard for her to find the time.

Even though this AMC series has had its ups and downs with audiences, the writers try to include old fans with the new ones.

As I said in my previous episode review, it was time for Uncle Felix to return.

Though we only got him for a few scenes, he imparted a good deal of wisdom to Dr. Manning.

Jordan Gavaris as Felix, Keeley Hawes as Kira Manning
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Also, Kira said what we were all likely thinking during the conversation between her and Felix when she said, “Please don’t tell my mom!”

Lord, I can only imagine that epically heated conversation.

Orphan Black: Echoes is revving up for a chaotic climax, and I don’t think we’ve seen the last death.

More bodies will hit the floor before Season 1 ends. We just hope it’s losses on Paul’s side.

Xander, played by Vinson Tran (Titans), feels expendable at this point, but he is just a kid. Like Jules, he is seeking some kind of purpose.

Fingers crossed that viewers won’t have to wait until the finale to finally get answers.

Jonathan Whittaker as Craig
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Regardless, you already know I will be at the edge of my seat watching every minute of the following two episodes of Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1!

Do you have any theories about what Paul Darros is doing with his indestructible device?

How do you think Lucy will react to Craig’s death?

Originally, The Terror was a 2007 historical fiction horror novel from the mind of Dan Simmons, a prolific author with a fascinating and diverse history of genres under his belt.

The second season went with its own story, independent of any previous works, and the audience didn’t share the same enthusiasm, though critical scores on Rotten Tomatoes were generally favorable.

Now, Season 3 is on the way, and, like the first outing, the Devil in Silver is going with another book adaptation. This time, the author is Victor LaValle, winner of the Bram Stoker, Shirley Jackson, and World Fantasy Awards for his works.

The Terror series is not known for its Hollywood-esque jump scares and expensive CG elements but more of a creeping, claustrophobic dread and the instinctive fear of the unseen or unknown.

Season 3 looks to continue the theme of skulking malevolence within a mental institution setting.

The question is: Can it recapture the magic of “grounded realism meets ambiguous paranormality” so carefully crafted in the seasons that precede it?

What Will The Terror Season 3 Be About?

The intimate details of AMC’s announcement remain hidden. But that doesn’t mean AMC doesn’t want us to know anything.

Pepper is the primary protagonist, and thanks to a series of unlucky events (which sounds like the average morning around here), he ends up institutionalized. Unfortunately, the New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital isn’t exactly a happy, safe space for poor Pepper.

The hospital’s name is interesting itself, suggesting a transformation of some kind — Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, anyone?

AMC’s written preview also suggests something darker, echoing the season’s title with the suggestion of the devil himself.

Looking Out
(Aidan Monaghan/AMC)

Only a secretive mental institution could harbor doctors with dark secrets, patients with malevolent and twisted psyches, and the devil.

AMC’s synopsis conjures images of falsely animated, immoderately grinning nurses gripping scissors in white-knuckled hands.

AMC doesn’t elaborate further, only suggesting that part of the evil Pepper will experience may come from himself.

Who Will Star in The Terror: Devil in Silver?

Dan Stevens will play Pepper. Stevens is known for his roles in 2014’s The Guest, 2017’s The Beast, and Marvel’s Legion, but he’s probably best known for his role as Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey.

The supporting cast members are in place as well.

  • Judith Light (Shining Vale)
  • Chinaza Uche (Dickinson)
  • John Benjamin Hickey (The Big C)
Claire the Con - Ugly Betty
(ABC/Ugly Betty/Screenshot)
  • CCH Pounder (The Shield)
  • Aasif Mandvi (Evil)
  • Stephen Root (Barry)
  • Hampton Fluker (Shades of Blue)

(Elizabeth Fisher/Paramount+)
  • Michael Aronov (The Americans)
  • Phillip Ettinger (First Reformed)
  • Marin Ireland (Justified: City Primeval)
  • Hayward Leach (Tom Swift)

I’m thrilled to be a part of ‘The Terror: Devil in Silver.’ This series is a dark symphony of psychological horror and gripping drama, set to rock the audience.

-Dan Stevens

Devil in Silver isn’t much of a departure from Steven’s previous work, with his role in Marvel’s Legion landing him in a mental institution as well.

It would seem that Dan digs this sort of role, though it will undoubtedly be a darker one than Marvel’s vision.

What is the Release Date?

Currently, there is no release date other than the claim that it will hit sometime in 2025. The cast was only recently announced, and the series is probably still in the writing and pre-production phase.

How Many Episodes Are in The Terror: Devil in Silver?

The third season of The Terror will feature six episodes, a far cry from the ten episodes of Seasons 2 and 1.

However, with costs up and various streaming platforms making strategic changes, a six-episode season will soon become the rule rather than the exception.

Hopefully, six episodes will be more than enough to bring Victor LaValle’s vision to life. If they can capture the dark atmosphere and dread of LaValle’s page-turner, the third season will be a success.

The Crew Behind the Third Season of The Terror

Not only is Dan Stevens starring in the lead role, but he’s also an executive producer alongside Chris Cantwell (Halt and Catch Fire), Victor LaVelle (Author), David Zucker, Scott Lambert, Alexandra Milchan, Guymon Casady, Karyn Kusama, and Ridley Scott.

Scott Free Productions and Emjag Productions are the two production companies behind the third season.

Scott Free Productions has a long and illustrious history of stellar movie content, dating back to the 1970s when it was Scott Free Enterprises.

Recent movies and TV shows have delivered mixed results. The Man in the High Castle, The Good Wife, and Mercy Street succeed, while The Passage, Raised by Wolves, and Napoleon fall short.

Emjag Productions has a smaller pedigree, with The Terror Season 2 and The Silence being the most well-known on the list.

Where Can You Watch The Terror: Devil in Silver?

You can watch Season 3 of The Terror on AMC if you have cable or satellite. For cord cutters, AMC+ is the way to go. AMC+ is available on mobile devices, Apple TV+, Prime, and Roku for $8.99/mo.

You can also get AMC with live TV subscriptions, such as Sling TV, Hulu Live, Philo, etc.

Is There a Trailer Out Yet?

No trailer is available for season 3 yet. In the current stage of the process, we likely won’t get one until sometime in 2025, closer to an official release date.

Are There Any Other Shows Releasing on AMC in 2025?

AMC is known for The Walking Dead, and Season 2 of The Walking Dead: Dead City will release sometime in 2025. Dark Winds Season 3 and Mayfair Witches Season 2 will premiere in 2025 as well.

Where Am I, Lasher?

Parish is currently pending, and although Interview with the Vampire is definitely coming back for a third season, there is no release date yet.

Once again, the writers have stepped up to bat and knocked another episode of Orphan Black: Echoes out of the park.

Coming from a beloved Canadian series turned cult classic, the stakes for this spinoff to succeed were always high.

Considering its certified fresh rating, we’d say Orphan Black: Echoes has been very successful.

Krysten Ritter as Lucy
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

With a cast of immensely talented actors, this series continues to make its mark as science fiction thriller gold.

The story has managed to separate itself from its origin source enough to feel like its own fresh beginning.

Sadly, Orphan Black: Echoes has not garnered much favorability with fans of the original series.

Orphan Black: Echoes Paves A Path Into The Future For The Betterment Of Audiences

At TV Fanatic, we completely understand loyalty to previously aired shows that we still hold dear.

Many networks think they can reboot an entire show and that fans of the original will flock to it.

Amanda Fix as Jules
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

If shows like Charmed, Charlie’s Angels, or Melrose Place have taught us anything, brand new doesn’t always mean all better.

However, Orphan Black: Echoes isn’t a reboot.

The show continues the previous series, with some original characters making appearances.

The change in setting, bigger budget, and less familiar storyline are likely upsetting many fans of the original.

Many viewers thought Orphan Black: Echoes would be a prequel to Orphan Black.

However, despite what audiences may feel, AMC did the right thing by moving the story into the future.

Rya Kihlstedt as Eleanor, Keeley Hawes as Kira
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

While a prequel series would have been an excellent way to introduce the franchise, it still would have posed the same issues.

There would have still been a change in setting, a bigger budget, and a less familiar storyline with even fewer franchise faces.

By taking the Orphan Black story into the future with new characters, new viewers can enter the series with a seed of interest.

Related: Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 2 Review: Jules

Slowly ingratiating audiences into the story can help them develop a fondness for the original show, even if they’ve never seen it.

Orphan Black: Echoes creates an interest in going back to the beginning and, in doing so, creates continuity for new fans to enjoy.

Change can be scary, but time has shown that not loving something now doesn’t mean it won’t be a hit or even a cult classic down the road.

Amanda Fix as Jules
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

As I said, we at TV Fanatic get it because some of us won’t watch Orphan Black: Echoes out of loyalty.

But if you love Orphan Black, wouldn’t you want as many people as possible to love it as well?

With enough people, the franchise could grow to feature film-level heights.

Think it over and get back to me.

Don’t Discount Kira Yet, Even If She Is The Cause Of The Chaos

Now, let’s get to Kira’s continued chaos because Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 7 was a doozy.

Keeley Hawes as Kira
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

First of all, I called it in my review of the previous episode.

Kira could not sustain Eleanor’s print-out status without her finding out.

What’s funny is that I also hypothesized Eleanor meeting her younger self, but I was referring to Jules then.

Related: Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 3 Review: Pegasus Girl

Close enough, though, because Kira walking in to see Lucy and Eleanor was gasp-worthy.

The tension skyrocketed the moment the realization hit Kira’s face.

I don’t know about you all, but my eyes were ready to jump out of my head.

Krysten Ritter as Lucy, Keeley Hawes as Kira
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

It was like time slowed down for a second, putting the viewer right into Kira’s mindset.

My first thought was, “Oh, Kira is all kinds of screwed.”

And the craziest part is that it’s very easy to understand what Kira was thinking while bringing her wife back to life.

Her wife is portrayed by the fantastic Rya Kihlstedt (Heroes Reborn), so we get it.

Kira was hurting, and because she had not told Lucas about Eleanor’s Alzheimer’s, she was all alone.

Still, her actions were selfish, and through them, three lives are now at risk.

Rya Kihlstedt as Eleanor, Keeley Hawes as Kira
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Personally, I am a fan of Kira, but she’s right that everything she went through made her a different person.

Now, she needs to find her way back.

The Print-out Posse Is Taking Back Their Freedom

However, if there is one character who will not go back to the way things were, it’s Lucy.

Krysten Ritter’s main character has been increasingly absent since Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 5.

However, she is back in action and ready to get down to business.

Krysten Ritter as Lucy
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Still, it begs the question, what about Jack and Charlie?

It seems like they were introduced to explain what Lucy had been up to for two years.

Now, the characters are barely ever seen.

At the very least, it would be nice to know if Charlie worked through her trauma of shooting a man.

The only way for the writers to keep Jack in Lucy’s life is if he serves a purpose.

And I’m not talking about filling a romantic void, either.

Krysten Ritter as Lucy
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

At this point in the story, there is no time for longing looks while holding hands.

Just ask Kira if you don’t believe me.

No, because Krysten Ritter is fully embracing her Jessica Jones past.

Related: Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 4 Review: It’s All Coming Back

That scene with Pam and the gun was Lucy’s “I’ve had enough” moment.

So, Paul Darros better buckle up because the “Print-out Posse” is taking back their freedom.

Darros Is Like A Dog With A Bone, Or An Ear If You’re Tom

James Hiroyuki Liao as Darros
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Speaking of the cringiest villain at AMC, Darros has fulfilled his role as the billionaire with mysterious motives.

Now, it’s time to get down to the nitty-gritty and answer some questions.

Why was Lucy printed?

Is she part of some print-out program to create a team of the world’s science prodigies?

Is she meant to mate with one of Paul’s clones?

Because you know the guy probably has multiple backups on retainer.

Amanda Fix as Jules, Vinson Tran as Xander
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Darros is still far too ambiguous of a villain and comes off as more annoying than sinister.

Whatever the man is up to, at least audiences got one special treat from “The Dog’s Honest Truth.”

Lucy and Eleanor nailed Tom with that truck!

Related: Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 5 Review: Do I Know You?

Holy crap, they messed him up so bad.

His freaking ear fell off, and then the dog ate it!

Reed Diamond as Tom
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Every dog has his day.

But with Kira’s organ printing company, he’ll be fine with a new ear by lunch.

Just in time to see the print-outs put their plan into action.

As Jules said, they’re done running.

Amanda Fix as Jules
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

But fans won’t be going anywhere because we plan to catch every epic moment in this Krysten Ritter-led series!

Were you as shocked as I was by the opening of the episode?

As always, fans can count on AMC‘s Orphan Black: Echoes to deliver twists and turns.

The latest episode is another example of how the series differentiates itself from the original show.

And let’s just go ahead and get this out of the way now.

Amanda Fix
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

I knew he was another printout!

Predictability is one of the critical flaws that any story, whether TV or film, can run into.

Like art, most people enjoy things they couldn’t have otherwise created themselves.

Related: Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 1 Review: A Beautiful Bird in a Cage

So, watching anything where you can easily guess what will happen can be a bummer and boring.

Luckily, Orphan Black: Echoes isn’t one of those, so making an accurate guess can be a rewarding experience that helps viewers connect to the plot.

And this series has the formula down to a science!

Vinson Tran as Xander
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Orphan Black: Echoes Is Setting Its Sights On A Greater Science Fiction Formula

On paper, Orphan Black: Echoes can come off like any other science fiction story.

It’s set in the future and has advancements that the current world can only dream of.

Throw in some clones, conspiracy theories involving elitists, and enough funky gadgets to sell that time period, and voila!

You have a sci-fi story.

But with Orphan Black: Echoes, all the technological and medical achievements fall to the wayside.

Keeley Hawes as Kira Manning
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

It’s a smart move by the writers because those things have been done to death.

And most audiences are tired of the endless scientific jargon that doesn’t make sense to the typical viewer.

Yours truly included.

Related: Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 2 Review: Jules

The science fiction community has slowly seen its story structure and formula undergo a much-needed overhaul.

Sure, there are still shows and movies that give hardcore sci-fi enthusiasts the crazy creations of science and out-of-this-world, or dimension, wonders.

However, for a more discerning viewer, there’s been a rise in what we could call “elevated science fiction.”

Amanda Fix as Jules, Vinson Tran as Xander
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Like the Syfy series, The Ark, many sci-fi stories have evolved to focus on the humanity of its characters.

After years of desensitization, audiences are ready to return to the heart of what makes shows like Orphan Black: Echoes great.

The machines may be complicated to build, but they aren’t nearly as complex as the hands that made them.

Jules Is Another Beautiful Bird Trapped In A Cage

At the end of the previous episode, we learned that Kira did not print Jules.

Before the wheels even started turning, viewers likely knew the answer to who did.

Amanda Fix as Jules
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

And that isn’t a knock at the series but rather an observation.

The previous episode spent a fair amount of time dropping clues that could easily be added up toward the conclusion.

If anything, Orphan Black: Echoes was spoon-feeding us the information to make the realization ourselves.

Related: Jonathan Glatzer to Develop Silicon Valley ‘Dark Comedy’ For AMC

Look at us being taught and entertained at the same time.

As for Jules, she’s likely learned everything she needs to know at this point.

The only thing left to discover is what Darros has planned for the little prodigy.

Amanda Fix as Jules
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

If there is one thing she and viewers might collectively regret, it’s not trusting her foster mother.

Played by Alexandra Castillo of The Handmaid’s Tale, we didn’t realize Neva was actually a loving mother until it was too late.

Now, Jules is quite possibly more alone than she’s ever been.

Orphan Black: Echoes Brings Billionaire Villains To Another Level Of Cringe That Works

Adding to that loneliness is the great expanse of Darros’s sonically protected eco farm.

While cliches are unavoidable, there is none more exhausting than the billionaire villain.

James Hiroyuki Liao as Darros
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Especially one that takes the “for the greater good” route.

But in Paul Darros’s case, it is so much worse.

Jules’s defining snark and sarcasm were much appreciated against the mogul’s weird attempt to appeal to Jules with a “soft” approach.

Related: Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 3 Review: Pegasus Girl

Because kidnapped teens always feel so much better after adults talk down to them.

The man is on another level of narcissism.

As mentioned above and seen in Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 6, Paul actually printed a younger version of himself.

Vinson Tran as Xander
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

We now know why because of Kira’s assistant, Josh, and his treacherous ways.

Because billionaires rarely pour buckets and buckets of money into anything out of the goodness of their hearts.

No, it’s always things like doing donuts in space or inventing driverless cars, as if society desperately needs that.

It’s like they’ve never watched Upload, Sunny, or the third episode of this series.

Too many self-driving car crashes.

So, it was not all that shocking to discover that Darros is making printouts for the one percent to extend their lives.

James Hiroyuki Liao as Darros
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Someone will have to explain that one to me because it’s not like they are putting the original’s literal brain into the new copy.

Right?

Because I can’t even begin to fathom the ethics of something like that.

Related: Anne Rice’s Universe on AMC Expands with The Talamasca

Kira May Be Too Far Gone To Save Herself Or Her Clueless Family

Speaking of ethics, we have to wonder what in the world was going through Kira’s mind.

She printed out a replica of her dead wife!

Rya Kihlstedt as Eleanor
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

How is that in any way sustainable?

And does Elle even know about her Alzheimer’s, or is Kira going to slow-burn Eleanor into the trauma?

I get that grief can push people to do things they never would normally do, but that’s extreme.

And to top it off, bringing Eleanor back has made Kira, as she said, a different person.

Thank God Elle didn’t go through a stroll in the city and see her teen self walking around in broad daylight.

However, that could still happen, and it would be crazy entertaining to see the fallout.

Amanda Fix as Jules
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Kira’s house is as much of a mess as she and her experiments are.

Poor Lucas, played by Jaedon Noel of Killjoys, has no idea that one mommy is a clone and the other is off the rails.

This would be a good time for Uncle Felix to make another impromptu visit.

Related: Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 4 Review: It’s All Coming Back

Because now that Josh has blown his brains out, Kira will need some direction.

She also needs any kind of relaxant Uncle Felix can provide.

However, despite so many new and old questions being answered, one still lingers in the air.

Jaeden Noel as Lucas
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

What is the significance of Jules and Lucy’s shared dream?

Is it something Eleanor also shares in?

Because if that’s the case, the women need to get together for a “sisterly” chat before Eleanor’s Alzheimer’s kicks in.

We’re in the meat of the series now, and I am foaming at the mouth to see where things go from here.

Rya Kihlstedt as Eleanor, Keeley Hawes as Kira Manning
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

I also wouldn’t mind if Orphan Black: Echoes shone the spotlight back on Lucy for a little bit because Krysten Ritter is just so damn talented!

What do you think Darros has planned for Jules?

Once again, audiences got more than they bargained for in Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 5, with just as many questions answered as new ones to drive viewers into a theory frenzy.

In total honesty, it seemed the episode was headed in a slow direction, and while the first half did, it turned things up a few hundred notches halfway through.

Orphan Black: Echoes has done a fantastic job of serving up appetizers of action and drama, and now it seems the series is ready to start dishing out the main course.

Keeley Hawes as Kira Manning
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

The episode title, “Do I Know You?” hits so much harder after viewing.

Once you know, there’s no unhearing or unfeeling what those words mean.

Orphan Black Is a Series That Brings Audiences to a Future That Still Feels Like Home

Related: Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 1 Review: A Beautiful Bird in a Cage

Even though Orphan Black: Echoes is a show that proudly totes its science fiction premise, the series is far more.

At its core, the show is about what makes a person human rather than what might make them property.

The series has done well at keeping audiences captivated with a story that has an endless well of possibilities.

Orphan Black: Echoes _ Season 1, Episode 5
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

And while Orphan Black: Echoes has toed the line between comedy, drama, and thriller, it’s kept its balance.

However, this episode had a relatively slow start compared to the high energy of the first four episodes.

The initial part of “Do I Know You?” had an unnerving decline in pace to serve Kira’s backstory.

It was essential to solidify what had brought Kira to where she now is, but it also meant sacrificing momentum.

But once viewers get past the cheesy meet-cute of Kira and Eleanor, the series delivers something unexpected.

It seamlessly moves into a heavy-hearted drama that uses Kira’s intense grief to help audiences relate.

Keeley Hawes as Kira Manning
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

If there is one thing the Orphan Black franchise knows how to get right, it’s balancing science and soul.

Whether It’s Lucy or Eleanor, She’s Still the Heart of Orphan Black: Echoes

At first, watching the original Lucy, aka Eleanor, was strange as she met and fell in love with Kira.

Related: Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 2 Review: Jules

There was an automatic feeling of loyalty to reject this “not Lucy” character.

However, once a different actress played her older self, it became much easier to accept this version.

It was constantly hinted that there was a close connection between Kira and Lucy’s original self, but this was unexpected.

Rya Kihlstedt as Eleanor
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Having Eleanor printed as her younger self was a great way for the writers to throw off viewers.

In retrospect, it’s a little strange that none of the characters made references to who Lucy really was.

Looking back, it’s as if each character spoke very carefully to Kira about the printout.

And rather than a continuity error, that only adds to how delicate and precious the experiment was.

It’s great that Lucy and viewers now know why her memory is how it is and who the baby in the photo was.

However, this also opens up a whole host of possibilities for how Krysten Ritter can use this new information to portray Lucy.

Krysten Ritter as Lucy
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Will she feel a motherly bond with Lucas, and what will happen to Jack and Charlie now?

Love Can Make a Person Capable of Anything, and Kira is No Exception

It was always clear from the start that whatever Kira’s intentions were, they were based on love.

Related: Jonathan Glatzer to Develop Silicon Valley ‘Dark Comedy’ For AMC

Knowing now that Eleanor was the love of her life makes the character even more relatable.

Scientists using their research and expertise to fix their personal struggles is nothing new.

It’s a concept that’s been used in countless movies and television shows, but Orphan Black: Echoes has redefined the parameters.

Orphan Black: Echoes _ Season 1, Episode 5
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Kira’s strength lies in her conviction and beliefs.

This is why it would take no less than losing the love of her life, played by Rya Kihlstedt (Superman & Lois), to change her stance on cloning.

As Kira herself said, it’s highly illegal, and the trauma of her childhood could never bring her to do it.

This heart-wrenching episode was a testament to how far any person is willing to go for a loved one.

More to the point, it makes sense now why Kira would dabble in an otherwise taboo topic.

However, the cutest part of the episode had to be watching Kira explain Lucy’s tattoo to her.

Krysten Ritter as Lucy, Keeley Hawes as Kira Manning
(Sophie Giraud/AMC)

Unbelievably adorable.

Orphan Black: Echoes Likes to Play Loose With the Bad Guys, but Paul Darros Isn’t Fooling Anyone

What wasn’t so cute was how Kira dropped the bomb at the end that she wasn’t responsible for Jules.

Related: Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 3 Review: Pegasus Girl

And since her assistant Josh was the only one who knew about the pivotal part of the printing machine, we think it’s safe to say that Paul Darros got to him.

Now, the real question of the series comes down to why Jules was printed in the first place.

The “how” has been made clear, but what relevance could a younger Eleanor Miller make for someone like Darros?

As Kira said, Paul is a tech billionaire trying to buy his way into the humanitarian industry.

Jules has shown she is a science prodigy, engineering drugs with side effects that can serve a medical purpose.

It’s possible that with proper guidance and training, Jules could usher in multiple medical advancements.

And with Eleanor so young, there would be more than enough time to develop a cure so she doesn’t have to die.

Whatever the case, we know Paul Darros, played by James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry), is far from an altruistic humanitarian.

If nothing else, we can all be thankful to have gotten a break from Tom and his exhaustive douchery.
