Well, FROM decided to save the best for last.

After a season that started strong and seemed to meander a bit at times, FROM Season 3 Episode 10 was one of the finest hours the series has ever produced.

And I say that confidently while also walking away from that hour, even more confused than ever, a feeling I didn’t think was possible.

The kitchen crew is startled during FROM Season 3 Episode 10.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

FROM is no longer some new show. We’re three seasons in, with a fourth season on the horizon, and we’re reaching a point where there needs to be some actual answers.

Answers have come this season, but every answer begets a new question, and as the cycle continued, it was easy to get frustrated at times. That’s a normal and common experience for a television consumer.

It’s a matter of balancing frustrations with all the other positive emotions, and since FROM is a science fiction horror show, it will never be the pinnacle of feel-good TV.

But every time an answer is revealed, it feels like an angel gets its wings, and this was the hour when so many things were discovered that it felt like your favorite holiday times a million.

Watching Smiley hatch in front of a room of maniacal monsters never felt so invigorating.

The hour was long, and there were distinct storylines throughout, with Ellis immediately coming to Boyd and proclaiming his suspicions about Elgin.

Elgin was a walking red flag when he and Ellis were “searching” for Fatima during FROM Season 3 Episode 9, and it was nice to see Ellis immediately pick up on that weird energy and take it right to his father.

Boyd is more than upset during FROM Season 3 Episode 10.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

If nothing else, someone needed to talk to Elgin and get him to elaborate on all the vague things he was hinting at, and that’s precisely what Boyd intended to do.

Boyd then going to Sara was an interesting move, though it made sense on the surface as she was the number one authority on the monsters getting into your head to the point you’re willing to do unspeakable things if you think it’ll save the day.

The rag-tag group at Colony House had no idea what they were doing, and it was very much another case of people putting their faith and trust in Boyd to do the right thing, which has been a constant theme throughout the series.

But perhaps more than in any other season, Boyd has struggled in his role as leader and finding that balance between dad and friend and truly being a leader of a town full of people who are scared shitless at every waking moment.

If you want to get technical, he’s been struggling since Abby, but when he decided to sacrifice Randall to the monsters during FROM Season 3 Episode 4, it became even more abundantly clear that he was always going to prioritize the needs of a few over those of one.

Except, that wasn’t really true, was it?

Not only was Boyd willing to protect Fatima after what she did, but amid this Elgin situation, he was ready to resort to torture if it got him the answers he was seeking.

Boyd reaches his limit during FROM Season 3 Episode 10.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Say what you want about Father Khatri, but he was spitting absolute facts in that shed because Boyd has been walking a hypocritical tightrope for a long while, and he effectively jumped off it when he decided that he would beat the information out of Elgin.

Boyd has been in the business of protecting his own, but what would anyone else in that town do if they were put in that position? There’s always a lot of judgment in that town, considering they’re constantly put in the worst situations of their lives.

I’ve always championed Boyd, and I think he’s continuously attempted to do the best that he could. Still, there was something genuinely iffy and comfortable about what happened to Elgin, even if it was becoming increasingly obvious that he was succumbing to the same thing Sara was.

The difference between what Sara did and what Elgin was doing was that one involved Boyd’s family. So, whereas he granted Sara a lot more grace after everything she did, he took a hammer to Elgin’s hand the minute he could.

While all this was playing out, Fatima was getting closer and closer to giving birth to whatever was happening inside of her, and one answer we didn’t get is just what spurred the pregnancy on in the days leading up to that one.

Everything accelerated in those final days, but why? Did killing Tillie unleash something in Fatima that made her body even primer to give birth?

Given everything else we learned, it may not be the most critical question, but it’s still intriguing, considering how things turn out.

Boyd and Sara team up during FROM Season 3 Episode 10.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Once Acosta made her way to the house, as usual, things fell apart, but this was the one time I couldn’t blame her for speaking up because the situation was crazy.

Elgin was sitting there with a broken hand, and all the people who’d been preaching to her about how things work and earning her place there were acting like it was completely normal behavior.

The continued fighting allowed Sara the time to escape and confront Elgin herself, and to all those out there who have never wavered on Sara’s sociopathic tendencies, well you were proven right.

Sara has kept herself under the radar more than anything and has stepped in when called upon to help, but she was never “cured” of what happened to her. The monsters could still get to her, as evidenced by them telling her about Fatima, but she hadn’t harmed anyone.

And Boyd essentially vouching for her made her untouchable even if it sullied many people’s faith in him.

Trying to dissect a character like Sara is futile because did we ever really know who she was in the first place? She is now someone who was saved by Boyd and apparently feels such a kinship to him that she’s willing to gouge someone’s eye out to help him.

She was also willing to make the move she didn’t believe Boyd either could or would make to get Elgin to talk. So, essentially, she’s about that life for real.

Sara helps out at Colony House during FROM Season 3 Episode 10.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

There were many surprises during this hour, but somehow, this one surprised me the most, if only because Sara has flown so under the radar that you could almost forget about her past because the show wanted you to.

They lulled us into believing Sara was rehabilitating, but in one swift scene, that was all undone. And honestly? Let it stay that way.

All those people in that house, sans Acosta, were willing to let Boyd do what he thought he needed to do as far as Elgin was concerned, and Sara just took what was in front of her and finished the job.

If they were okay with Boyd doing what needed to be done, they better not turn around and attack Sara when she got them the answer they were after.

They crossed that line, and they can’t try to go back!

Everything from that point forward was a bit of a fever dream, and the occupying string music didn’t help matters.

Fatima gave birth with the kimono lady acting as her doula, and the boys got there a second too late to actually see any of that because of course they did.

A meeting takes place at Colony House during FROM Season 3 Episode 10.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

The thing that came out of Fatima wasn’t a baby, of course, but something else entirely, and when the lady descended the stairs, I genuinely had no idea what was about to happen, even as I tried to tie it back to what was happening to Tabitha, Jade, and Jim in the woods.

But good on Boyd for sneaking down there because imagine if he’d been sensible and got the hell out of there like I would have done.

The egg-like, spongey, and bloodied being on the ground was pretty gross if we’re being honest, and it looked like a scene out of an alien movie or something, like a baby alien hatching on a spaceship right before the eyes of the worried crew.

But Fatima’s “baby” was no alien. It was Smiley, come back to town after being “killed” during FROM Season 2 Episode 6, and what the hell does that mean?

Well, I’m not sure, but I’d venture to say that Smiley’s death threw something off-kilter in that town, as we’re learning now that the anghkooey children were sacrificed in that town by their parents who wished to live forever and said parents are those monsters that can only come out at night.

Smiley’s re-emergence felt like a result of what happened to him, as he was essentially not allowed to die due to the sacrifice that occurred. Until those children are finally freed, the town will continue to operate under its mercy, which means inevitably, Smiley had to be re-born.

This is all so fascinating, and I’m guessing, as most of us are about how everything truly works, but it’s safe to assume now that when Boyd killed Smiley, that set off many of the things we’ve seen since then.

Jim and Jade have another chat during FROM Season 3 Episode 10.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

I’m talking about all of the “changes” that have been noticeable lately, like the changing weather, the monsters being nastier than ever, and Fatima’s pregnancy.

All of this also gives greater credence to Boyd’s belief that what happened to Fatima was because of him, and I can’t exactly say now that Boyd’s assertions were wrong because he is connected to ALL of this.

But how did Fatima become infested with the Smiley spawn? How does any of this really work?

We only got a taste of what’s happening here, but when the hour ends, Smiley has re-emerged, surrounded by his enthusiastic fellow monsters, maybe because their sense of balance has been restored.

While all of this was happening, Jim, Jade, and Tabitha were continuing to look into the numbers of the papers found in the bottle tree, and Jim finally making the connection to music led them and that violin from times past out into the woods.

This season has focused a lot on Tabitha and Jim in a way they hadn’t necessarily been focused on since the early parts of FROM Season 1. They arrived in that town with a dying marriage and a family that was barely hanging on.

They’ve found their way back to one another, but there’s still a lot of pain embedded in that relationship, though Jim had recently taken some of the advice given to him and decided not to let his fear dictate his actions.

An unlikely trio looks for answers during FROM Season 3 Episode 10.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

His working with Jade and Tabitha, not arguing with them, was a step in the right direction, and his coming up with the musical connection was not one they’d yet made.

I’ve had much to say about Jim over the years, and I stand by that! But he wasn’t keen to take the little song Jade played out into the forest because he saw the town for what it was.

That town looks to take and take and take. They’ve had numerous theories that they’ve tested, and they’ve all ended rather horrifically.

Jim had a right to be nervous, but Tabitha and Jade weren’t interested in hearing it, something we’d learn more about.

Tabitha’s reaction at the end of the previous hour, when she touched Victor, took her back into the night Miranda died. While to us, it did appear to be some kind of vision, to Tabitha, it felt like she could feel Miranda.

Miranda was trying to tell her something and force her to remember, just as all the people Jade had encountered were trying to force him to remember.

All of their interactions, from the Civil War soldier to the children themselves, were designed to get them to crawl into the deep recesses of their minds and remember the beginning.

Jade looks to make a connection with the numbers during FROM Season 3 Episode 10.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

The answers to the end are in the beginning, remember?

We thought that meant all the way back to the children being sacrificed, but what if that also meant the beginning of the town, meaning those who were first trapped there?

What if those first people were Tabitha and Jade?

Okay, maybe I lied about Sara’s inner demon jumping out being the wildest reveal of the hour because finding out that Tabitha and Jade were two of the first people ever trapped in that town, and they’ve been reincarnated over time and destined to be put right back into that town at some point in their reincarnated lives to free the children finally has broken my brain.

There has been a connection between Tabitha and Jade that has bloomed more this season, but their past selves having a child together? A child that died in that place?

And then their past selves seemingly dying there only to be reborn again and again, sent back to that town again and again, unable to free the children and ultimately dying over and over again, leading them to this exact moment?

How do you even begin to understand that?

Tabitha continues to look for answers during FROM Season 3 Episode 10.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

The questions here are endless, but it does put some things into perspective, namely why they’ve been privy to things others have not. And while it’s such a tremendous piece of the puzzle, there are still so many questions to come from this as Tabitha and Jade grapple with what it means.

Imagine that on top of everything you’re currently dealing with, you also have to consider reincarnation, the pain of your past lives, and the reality that each time you fail in that town, you’re destined to repeat it.

The whole thing gives me chills!

They could have ended the hour with that reveal, and this hour would have still been a five-star affair, but they decided to go for absolute broke by doing the one thing I was pretty sure would happen but still caused me to gasp!

A different (future?) Julie sprinted to her dad to warn him that they needed to leave and that she needed to change the story. This must mean she knew her dad was dead, and she came to that moment to try and change the outcome.

Isn’t that how television time-traveling works?

But Ethan said she couldn’t change the story, only walk through it essentially, so did she get there only to watch her dad die in front of her? And not just any death, but death by a day-walking monster in a hideous suit.

Julie and Ethan set off for the day during FROM Season 3 Episode 10.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Jim’s dead. Jim has died, and potentially Julie from the future tried to save him. Still, present-day Julie and Ethan will be without their father, and Tabitha without her husband minutes after discovering she’s intrinsically tied to Jade for all of eternity.

My brain, guys. My brain may never be the same after this one because I am so confused, but I’ve never been more invested in what the hell is happening here.

Loose Ends

 • So now we know why the Matthews and Jade arrived in town at the same time. No one currently there had seen two cars arrive at the same time, but whether they are physically together in each life or not, it must be their destiny to come together. WILD.
 • Victor needed that hug and reassurance from Henry so badly, and I’m glad they got to have that moment together with their family. It’s devastating but also something they both needed.
 • Fatima, walking away from all that trauma, seemingly physically fine, makes it seem like Elgin wasn’t totally lying. But he was obviously misinformed about what that “baby” was meant to do!
 • Randall was ready to shock his brain to get rid of that buzzing noise, and there’s still so much story to get into regarding Randall and Marielle and what happened to them during FROM Season 2.
Victor and Henry reconnect during FROM Season 3 Episode 10.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)
 • Is Elgin dead? Or just missing an eye now?

Was this the best episode of FROM since FROM Season 1 Episode 1? I’ll let you be the judge of that!

This was a pretty damn good piece of television viewing, though, and now we have the long wait to see where things go next, but at least we’re guaranteed to see another season!

Please drop all your theories and thoughts below (I love reading them!) so we can discuss them!

Til next time, FROMily!

MGM+ renews FROM for Season 4, and the nightmare is far from over!

The post FROM Renewed for Season 4! The Mystery Deepens, and the Terror Lives On! appeared first on TV Fanatic.

]]>
Well, FROMily, your wishes have come true!

MGM+ has officially renewed FROM for a 10-episode fourth season, and we couldn’t be more thrilled—or terrified.

With the Season 3 finale just around the corner, fans are drowning in more questions than answers. But at least now, we know the journey isn’t over.

Boyd looks out at the monsters during FROM Season 3 Episode 4.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

The only question is: Is that a good thing or a bad thing? You tell us.

Creator John Griffin hinted at what’s to come, saying, “With the culmination of Season Three, we have, in many ways, reached the end of the beginning. In Season Four, a new journey begins.”

The question is whether it will lead our characters home or deeper into this unrelenting nightmare,” he added.

So, will we finally get some clarity, or is FROM just getting started?

The hit mystery-horror series stars Harold Perrineau as Boyd Stevens, the reluctant leader of a group of people trapped in a nightmarish town surrounded by terrifying monsters.

Jade and Tabitha look through pictures during FROM Season 3 Episode 6.

The residents are plagued not only by physical threats but also by relentless psychological warfare as they struggle to escape.

The stellar ensemble cast includes Catalina Sandino Moreno (Tabitha Matthews), Eion Bailey (Jim Matthews), Hannah Cheramy (Julie Matthews), and Simon Webster (Ethan Matthews).

Ricky He (Kenny Lu), Chloe Van Landschoot (Kristi), Corteon Moore (Ellis Stevens), Pegah Ghafoori (Fatima Hassan), David Alpay (Jade), Elizabeth Saunders (Donna), Scott McCord (Victor), and many others will also be returning to the nightmare.

MGM+ head Michael Wright praised the show, saying, “FROM has been a sensation for MGM+, capturing the attention of millions of viewers and helping us to shine a bright light on our MGM+ brand.”

Donna has some decisions to make on FROM Season 3 Episode 1.

He added, “Our talented show creators and cast have brilliantly and carefully crafted this wonderful show, and we look forward to providing the answers the FROM audience so enthusiastically craves in Season 4!”

Showrunner Jeff Pinkner shared an equally exciting tease: “By the end of Season 3, our characters will begin to understand why they are trapped in FROM Town… but will understanding help them to escape? And if so, how?”

The stats speak for themselves for those who can’t get enough of the nightmare. FROM is the most-viewed series in MGM+ history and holds a glowing 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

So, FROMily, what say you? Are you ready to dive back into the chaos, or are you bracing yourself for even more sleepless nights?

Let us know your thoughts in the comments — because let’s face it, the dread is only just beginning.

As the town searches for Fatima, the woman looks for a way out during FROM Season 3 Episode 9. Our review of the penultimate hour!

The post FROM Season 3 Episode 9 Review: Revelations: Chapter One appeared first on TV Fanatic.

]]>
The best part about breaking down an hour of FROM every week is figuring out how to begin. I usually want to start with a string of expletives because I’m either flabbergasted or confused as hell.

After FROM Season 3 Episode 9, I’m a bit of both.

It does not feel like these people are any closer to getting home this season, but they’re making discoveries left and right. So, what does that mean? What does that really mean in the grand scheme of things? I’m not sure.

Boyd and Donna call for the town to search for Fatima during FROM Season 3 Episode 9.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

This hour revolved around the search for Fatima, but before that search began, we had many conversations with various people, perhaps none more interesting than the one between Boyd and Ellis.

Boyd and Ellis have this super complex father-son dynamic, and it’s one of the best relationships on the show.

When FROM began, they weren’t even speaking for the most part, but through this horrific nightmare and the loss of Abby and beyond, they reached this lovely place where they understand each other better.

We never saw the immediate aftermath of what happened between Ellis finding Fatima and then the beginning of FROM Season 3 Episode 8, when Fatima and Boyd were scrambling through the woods.

It’s safe to assume Ellis went directly to his father, the one person he knew he could count on, and they immediately hatched a plan.

The love has always been there, but what happened to Abby changed them, and ever since then, Boyd has, at times, seemed to keep Ellis a bit at arm’s length.

When Boyd’s legs seized up, and Ellis had to help him back to town, Boyd finally decided to come clean about his illness. I’ve been waiting a long time for this conversation, and while brief, it was so necessary.

Boyd and Ellis check in during FROM Season 3 Episode 9.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

There was barely any time to sit with the information, considering they had no idea where Fatima was, and a monster was taunting Boyd just outside. Still, it was a long overdue talk between a father facing his mortality in a different way than they’d become accustomed to.

And a son must come to terms with this being kept from him.

In typical FROM fashion, there wasn’t much time to marinate before the next crisis, but hearing Boyd wonder out loud if whatever was happening to Fatima was because of him was fascinating.

The monsters have long wanted to break Boyd, and now they’ve officially gotten him thinking that other bad things are inherently his fault. And isn’t that a psychological trip?

We haven’t seen the monsters much lately, but you could still feel their presence.

Sara also had the monsters back in her head, and wasn’t that a sight? I was so sure this would end badly for Sara, but instead, the monsters were using her as a vessel to deliver a message.

Listen, everything with Fatima and Elgin does not make sense right now, but what does make sense is that Elgin is being fed information from the kimono lady that he believes will help.

Elgin looks to protect his secret during FROM Season 3 Episode 9.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Elgin has never come across as a bad guy, and even though he’s keeping Fatima against her will, he’s still not behaving maliciously. Something is growing inside Fatima, but what it is and what it will do remains to be seen.

Brushing off Fatima killing Tillie because the baby got scared was just one of the bizarre things Elgin said during the hour, but you can’t ignore the correlation between the blood and the rotten food at this point.

When Fatima feeds the beast, so to speak, she does seem to be less agitated, if only slightly, and in less pain. So, Eligin’s clearly onto something, but how this “baby” is supposed to change everything remains to be seen.

But Elgin’s so convinced he’s doing the right thing that it’s starting to feel Sara-like. The monsters had her convinced that everything they told her to do was for the greater good of the town.

The whole sacrifice one to save plenty kind of mentality.

The reality of the situation, though, is that Elgin is being haunted by something paranormal, and he trusts it or is influenced by it. From the outside looking in, all we know is that Fatima is being held against her will, and something terrible is happening inside of her.

I’m of the mindset never to believe the monsters, visions, or anything supernatural on this series because outside of the boy in white, how many of them have actually helped in any meaningful way?

Ellis and Elgin head out to look for Fatima during FROM Season 2 Episode 9.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

You can’t trick me, FROM land!

Fatima spent much of the hour trying to escape her mini-prison to no avail, even while the entire town was looking for her. And I fear that we’re headed for some kind of birth in the season finale, and there’s probably a high likelihood that it ends in absolute calamity.

Elgin got into his little villain bag by teaming up with Ellis to search for Fatima around the town, and there was not a subtle bone in his body while the two searched.

My guess for the finale is that Ellis picks up on what Elgin is putting down and forces him to lead him to Fatima. He’ll be too late for whatever happens to Fatima, or he’ll get there right in time to “save” her, but he’ll also trigger something that disrupts the flow of what is supposed to happen.

Either way, all signs point to disaster for Fatima, and I’m finding it increasingly difficult to imagine her coming out of this completely unscathed.

With Fatima missing and the two, for the most part, split off looking for her, there were A LOT of deep conversations taking place, which almost seemed out of place considering how dire the situation was becoming, even if not everyone was privy to all the details.

But as a viewer, I was screaming at the television because I desperately needed these people to do something and do it with a sense of urgency!

Donna and Boyd debrief during FROM Season 3 Episode 9.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

There’s been a lot to like about this third season, but things have gotten very slow lately. While the character exploration has been excellent in some respects (e.g., Boyd and Ellis, Henry and Victor), some of the other stuff feels wildly misplaced.

It becomes hard to remember that only some in the town have the information we do, but my goodness, some deep talks felt like a significant waste of time.

For example, Acosta has been in the town for 17 minutes, and all she has done is be a bother. We don’t particularly need her yapping to Donna about how she can be an asset when all she’s done thus far is chastise how others handle things.

Donna’s so beaten down this season because she was much nicer than she could have been. Maybe Acosta should work on doing one helpful thing first before trying to get everyone to believe she’s the perfect cop who’s arrived to save the day.

Then you have Jim, who’s suddenly decided, after a whole season of being labeled a deadbeat dad and horrible husband, that he’d like to leave that old Jim behind and be more present and understanding to his family.

That’s all well and good that it took him all this time to sit back and listen, but some of these life lessons could have occurred much earlier in the story because there should have been more screaming and less self-reflection in the penultimate hour.

(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Though, much like I’m worried about Fatima’s chances of making it out of this season alive, I’m also wondering about Jim’s chances because this has all the makings for Jim to be put in a position where he has to sacrifice himself for his family, which would necessitate him making these amends now.

And something is bound to happen with Tabitha in the final hour.

The bond between Tabitha and Victor has always been interesting and felt very maternal. Tabitha has given Victor space to trust in her and feel comfortable around her in a way we don’t often see from him.

Their connection has always seemed predicated on understanding and comfort. And while we’ve seen them touch one another, that physical contact has suddenly unleashed something in Tabitha.

First, it was a fleeting feeling, but in the closing minutes of the hour, Tabitha was literally transported into the night that Smiley killed Victor’s mom, and what the hell?

Victor spent the whole hour reeling after discovering that his search for Jasper was useless and that he was no closer to discovering anything new. It was so sad to see him so utterly defeated because he put so much stock in himself being able to summon up all these repressed memories for the greater good.

And he was so disappointed in himself that he just lost it a bit. His attempt to chop down the tree was born out of pure pain and shame that he couldn’t do more.

Victor throws his possessions out the window during FROM Season 3 Episode 9.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

The boy in white always shows up at the correct times, but only when he feels like it. Unlike everything else in that place, he is the one entity they can trust, but he’s also stingy with his knowledge and help.

He won’t always do it, and he won’t always tell you exactly what you need to know, but he’ll nudge you in the right direction if he can.

He was forthright when he told Victor not to chop down the tree, but even after Victor begged him, the boy couldn’t do more than basically shrug his shoulders and tell him he’ll have to keep on keeping on.

Now, he offered a few tidbits, like explaining that he was physically changing because that place was changing, and he mentioned that Christopher ruined it for everyone, apparently when he wouldn’t heed the boy’s earlier advice.

Things have been changing, from the weather to the increasingly sinister nature of the monsters. The boy’s message felt very much like a call to action because how much change can that place sustain before it’s uninhabitable?

But back to the final moments, we’ve known Tabitha was connected to that place, but now she can see into the past? When was that kill unleased? And more importantly, how can she harness that for good, if at all?

Julie can time travel. Tabitha can see into the past. Ethan can solve puzzles. And what the hell can Jim do?

Tabitha and Julie find something shocking during FROM Season 3 Episode 9.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

I kid, but we’re heading into the final hour with all these moving parts, and it should be exhilarating, but none of them feel like they’re on a collision course to reach each other.

Julie hasn’t told anyone outside her mother what happened, and the three were standing right outside where Fatima was being held with no idea she was in there.

There are all these threads, but everything feels so far apart. I wish I could be excited thinking the threads will connect, but I’m more or less just expecting one or two answers, 38428484 more questions, at least one or two deaths, and a cliffhanger that makes me ready to go on the ride all over again.

I don’t know whether to say thank you to FROM or conclude this review with that string of expletives I wanted to start with.

Loose Ends

 • One thing about Jade is that he’s often the worst, but you team him up with anyone, and it just works. Of all the people Henry has chatted with, he probably got the most profound advice from dear old Jade.
 • Has it seemed as if certain characters have been sidelined this season? Where has Kristi been? She hurt her ankle, and it’s as if we never see her anymore.
 • Bakta re-opening the diner was nice. The diner has been one of the places in that town that has made everyone feel a bit of comfort and normalcy.

We have finally reached the finale, and I imagine everyone has as many questions and thoughts as I do.

So, please share all your thoughts and theories below so we can discuss them!

We are officially 28 episodes into FROM, and this show has become even more confusing.

You’d think as time rolled along, we’d be a little further along in piecing things together, but that’s not the case.

We’re learning things, sure, but do they make any sense? Are we any closer to connecting the dots? These are questions definitely worth asking yourself as we head into the final two hours.

Boyd and Ellis look for Fatima in the woods during FROM Season 3 Episode 8.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

If anything, FROM Season 3 Episode 8 reminded me of the slogan you’d hear at the beginning of MTV’s Diary series from the 2000s: you think you know…you have no idea.

Whenever you have an idea of what’s happening, something else comes along to crush the thought, and you must start all over. That’s how this Fatima story is starting to feel because it’s not going in a way I could have ever predicted.

And I don’t say all this to suggest that crafting a completely unpredictable series is a bad thing. That’s precisely what you want from a mystery, but sometimes you do reach a point where your head is a jumbled mess of confusion, and it’s not quite as fun as it used to be to make sense of things.

As I reiterated before, we are 28 episodes in. After Tabitha’s miraculous escape during FROM Season 2 Episode 10, does anyone feel like we’re any closer to figuring out the town and getting everyone home?

It feels like we’re almost further away than ever in many ways.

But let’s talk about Fatima, shall we? She was naturally spiraling in the aftermath of killing Tillie, and Boyd was in his covering-up murder era.

Just call him one of the Keating 5!

Fatima hides out in the woods during FROM Season 3 Episode 8.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

It was surprising and not surprising how quickly Boyd was willing to cover things up for Fatima because we’ve seen that internal struggle within Boyd play out from FROM Season 1 Episode 1 to now.

He’s the number one guy in town. He’s the sheriff. He’s the flight attendant on the rocky plane everyone looks at to judge how calm they should remain in the face of uncertainty.

But as the town has morphed and gotten increasingly more volatile, Boyd has changed in numerous ways. He’s still actively looking to protect people, but he’s also doing things out of his own self-interest.

Taking it upon himself to basically absolve Sara after what she did and not following through with her exile in the way he was supposed to was the first sign that Boyd wasn’t above doing whatever he saw fit, even if it went against the majority.

So, him hiding Fatima out in the woods and essentially daring the town to find a scapegoat wasn’t shocking on the surface, but it was still jarring in a way.

It’s not as if I expected Boyd to march his daughter-in-law down the streets to the box, but this storyline shows how much the past has changed Boyd and his own code of ethics and conduct.

Elgin searches for the place in his photo during FROM Season 3 Episode 8.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Ellis was more inclined to tell the truth than Boyd, but that was Ellis being more naïve than anything else. He was sorely mistaken if he thought for a minute that the town would take pity upon Fatima after the past few days.

Boyd may not have been ready to march Fatima to her death, but he also wasn’t prepared to send Ellis off into the forest to live with her alone, knowing that something was wrong. You could see it on his face while Fatima was recounting what happened, and he was at a loss as to what was happening to her.

There’s no plausible explanation, especially knowing that she’s not with child, and Boyd wasn’t exactly jumping at the idea of sending his son out into the woods with Fatima in her current state.

Donna has been the voice of reason much more this season, and it’s almost like she and Boyd have switched places in some ways because she’s the one putting town above one much more than Boyd.

And I hate to say that’s easier for Donna because nothing about anything they’re doing is easy. Still, Boyd has the emotional weight of his son being affected in this scenario.

It’s impossible to separate that emotion, even if he thinks he can.

Julie and Ethan head into the woods during FROM Season 3 Episode 8.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

What’s the correct answer here? Or better yet, what would you do?

Boyd had to know that telling Donna took the decision out of his hands and put it directly into hers. And Donna doesn’t say things to say them or threaten just to threaten.

Donna telling Boyd that the people don’t believe in him anymore was a tough pill for Boyd to swallow, but there’s also no way he hasn’t felt that. Everyone’s exhausted, and that peaceful lull they’d found themselves in hasn’t existed since the Matthews arrived.

There hasn’t been a moment of peace since then, and it’s not like Boyd’s leadership has suddenly made the town worse. Almost all of it has been out of his hands, but people need some to blame. And that person will always be the one in charge.

Boyd and Ellis shuffling out into the woods so that Ellis and Fatima could exist out there for however long was a nice moment for them to talk about Abby because of how similar the situations were, but when pressed, Boyd couldn’t even muster up a response to Ellis’s question.

There’s a before Abby died Boyd and an after Abby died Boyd, and Boyd may try to grasp at those before moments, but that man has been gone for a long time.

Julie and Randall debrief after their stop in the woods during FROM Season 3 Episode 8.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Of course, Boyd and Ellis couldn’t find Fatima because Elgin took her to the bunker. Let’s talk about this for a minute because what the hell?

Elgin has been haunted by the kimono-wearing woman all season, and for no real reason, he went from being petrified of her to following her and the pictures around without confiding in anyone and operating almost blindly.

We’ve seen this happen before: an entity, ghost, whatever you want to call them, gets one of the townspeople to trust them enough to do their bidding.

The pictures and the lady had Elgin basically kidnapping Fatima to get her into that room so the baby could come. But whose baby? Is it the lady’s baby? Will the arrival of life in that town help offset the apparent sacrifice that may have happened there?

We learn about the apparent sacrifice from Victor’s memories, but before jumping ahead, Elgin dragging Fatima against her will into that room was quite the image to end the hour. And maybe we did get a sort of answer about what’s happening with Fatima, but we also had a ton more questions.

This was truly the hour of questions and answers, though, with Julie perhaps providing one of the biggest answers and opening up an even bigger can of worms.

Ethan runs to find help for his sister during FROM Season 3 Episode 8.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Julie’s pull to that spot in the forest took her down to the cave and put her face-to-face with herself, Randall, and Marielle, where they were chained up and screaming, as well as Martin.

And Martin was the one who told her to throw the rope down to Boyd, who was stuck in a tight space reminiscent of a chimney. That’s one of those questions that’s never been super high on anyone’s priority list, but finding out now that Julie was the one who threw it down adds a whole other wrinkle to things.

Excuse me while I dust off my Avengers knowledge, but are they living in some quantum realm? Are there time vortexes they can jump into to change outcomes?

I’m utterly perplexed by this whole thing, and if Julie doesn’t relay exactly what happened to her to Boyd, I will lose my mind.

I know a lot is happening, but there are too many pivotal things to keep to yourself. Julie needs to tell whoever will listen what she experienced because the ability to jump back in time may be an even bigger reveal than the faraway trees.

Another big reveal came when Victor finally remembered what he’d seen between Christopher and Jasper.

Victor needs to get Jasper to talk during FROM Season 3 Episode 8.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

The bond between Victor and Tabitha is very sweet, and she understands him in a way that not many others do. Sara tried her best with Victor, but Tabitha has a bit of that patient charm that allows Victor to take a beat.

Once he took a beat, with Sara’s help as well, he was finally able to pull some long-buried and repressed memories back to the surface. Those memories, which were not of Jasper but the boy in white, shed light on the young children that Tabitha has been seeing around.

If those children were sacrificed in that town by their parents, are they now haunting the town until they’re saved?

“The answers to the end are in the beginning.”

So, who will give these people a history lesson about the town because that’s what we’re missing here? And I say that as if it’ll be easy to uncover the library in that hellhole with the town archives.

But if that’s not an option, and it’s not, what do they do? Where can you even begin to look for that information?

Julie finds herself in unfamiliar territory during FROM Season 3 Episode 8.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Acosta may be the worst, but her do-something attitude is something everyone needs to adopt right now because they’re somehow gathering clues and getting further away from sense.

And if they don’t start making some inroads, that town may collapse in on itself without another monster ever showing its face.

Loose Ends

 • Jim and Jade’s fight was funny if only for Henry piping up when it was over to tell Jim he needed to shut up and listen every once in a while. Jim can be scared all he wants, but he’s handling it in a way that’s pushing the people he loves away from him.
 • Where are the monsters? I know we go long stretches without seeing them, but sometimes the show loses some of its spooky energy when we go too long without that genuine threat.
Victor, Tabitha, and Sara head for the church during FROM Season 3 Episode 8.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)
 • In the string of information that Victor rattled off from his memory, one thing that stood out the most was his saying the children were murdered in the dark. That has to be connected to why the monsters come out at night and begs the question, how do they ultimately find the light there?
 • I already talked about this ad nauseum up above, but Boyd was really ready to let ANYONE, sans Sara, potentially take the fall for Tillie’s murder. That’s objectively insane.

There are two episodes left until we wrap this season up, and while I’m confident we’ll get to see a FROM Season 4, as of right now, we don’t have it. So, I will need them to explain a lot in the final hours to quiet my nerves!

We’re reaching that point in the FROM season where you can tell the end is near.

But unlike previous seasons, we don’t seem to be building to something major. There’s no town-wide experiment taking place, and the town isn’t overrun with cicadas, which a few townsfolk slipping into terrifying comas.

Instead, this season, there are just a lot of individual stories dominating right now, and FROM Season 3 Episode 7 was all about furthering those and leading us ever closer to the finish line.

Boyd and Donna walk back from Colony House during FROM Season 3 Episode 7.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

In many ways, FROM Season 3 has felt like a different season than what we’re used to. But perhaps only in the way that it’s setting us up for the final stretch.

They’ve been crafting specific stories all season, and it feels like we’re headed toward the climax of those, but they’re keeping so many things separate.

Everyone has their own thing going on with minimal overlap.

Victor, for instance, has remained steadfast on his Jasper quest ever since he and Sara went into Sara’s basement, and he recalls the events before everyone died.

This storyline is independent of everything else because no one knows what he’s doing outside of Henry and Sara.

Now that he had Jasper, the next step was making him talk, and it was driving him a little batty that he couldn’t just get the doll to start spewing everything he knew.

That creepy doll WILL end up talking eventually because this is FROM, but it’s easy to see from the outside why Henry would be worried about Victor’s insistence on getting there.

Victor spends time in his room during FROM Season 3 Episode 7.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

The Victor and Henry dynamic remains fragile and complicated because you have two men who have only had memories of one another for years. But their circumstances and all that time apart have obviously changed them into people the other doesn’t fully recognize.

Victor doesn’t know his father as he is in this state. Henry grieved his family for years without any answers and had to move on in a life that was never the same nor what he wanted it to be.

Henry wanted to find his family, but he never could, and now that he has this second chance with the son who survived, he’s struggling. And I think that’s okay.

Henry’s fleeting thought about wishing he’d never come there because it was easier when he thought Victor was dead was just that, a fleeting thought.

It doesn’t make him evil or a terrible person. It was a human emotion that crept up amid unspeakable pain and joy mixed in this collage of tangled emotions.

I think one thing getting lost in the reunion was Henry having to come to terms with the fact that his wife and daughter died in that place. And that’s on top of the tremendous guilt he must feel that he wasn’t there to protect any of them.

It’s so hard to know how you’d feel or react in his shoes, but thus far, he’s tried his best, even when it’s obvious he doesn’t understand what’s happening.

Jim and Tabitha have a talk in the woods during FROM Season 3 Episode 7.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

I loved him and Donna having a drink together and Donna just listening to him. Donna is someone in that place who always has something to say, but it wasn’t necessary at that moment because he just needed to sit with his own disappointment in himself.

I’m guessing that Henry and Victor will eventually get Jasper to talk, which will do wonders for bridging some of the distance they find between themselves.

Before Donna was playing bartender to Henry’s patron, she and Boyd had a little almost-tiff about Ellis and Fatima, which has become the most intriguing storyline through the latter half of this season.

Finding out in FROM Season 3 Episode 6 that there was no baby didn’t stop Fatima from believing it to be true. This triggered countless discussions about whether or not Fatima was losing her mind.

I’ll admit, my first reaction to finding out Fatima wasn’t pregnant wasn’t to assume she was losing her grasp on reality because it was obvious something had happened to her body.

Seemingly overnight, everything changed for her, and we see in moments when she’s by herself, like when her whole stomach goes concave, and she screams in pain, that something is happening.

There’s something evil inside her stomach. It might not be a baby, but it’s something.

Ellis and Fatima continue dealing with Fatima's health during FROM Season 3 Episode 7.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

I know those around her aren’t trying to dismiss her pain and her proclamations, but they’re scared for her. However, one thing that can be frustrating in that town is seeing people look at one another like there’s something wrong with them when they tell them something weird and unnatural is happening.

Nothing about that town makes sense, yet certain things will have everyone clutching their pearls and looking around at one another like that person just said the most insane thing they’ve ever heard.

NOTHING that happens to people in that place should be brushed aside as delusion. I understand that there is evidence of people losing their minds in there, and that’s a real worry, but that can’t be the default thinking whenever someone feels something or says something that doesn’t make sense.

They’ve seen too much and have gone through too much not to take people at their word sometimes.

Fatima continued to worsen during this episode, and the debilitating anger was almost the worst part because she was presenting as so insufferable, which is such a departure from the woman we’ve known.

Ellis was trying his best but was really struggling, both with the knowledge that he wasn’t going to be a father and Fatima’s state. You could tell he was immediately harkening back to what happened with Abby.

He had a front-row seat to that in a way his father did not, and that hug between father and son felt like a long time coming, but also maybe something Ellis wasn’t all the way ready for.

Marielle checks in on Fatima during FROM Season 3 Episode 7.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Even though he and Boyd have gotten to a much better place, there may still be some residual pain from that period, and him feeling like his father let their family down because he wasn’t there when Abby needed him the most.

In his quest to save all, he failed to save one.

Now, Ellis found himself in what he perceived to be the same situation, and he was understandably struggling to deal with that. He could start by just listening to Fatima, which he did, but it also seemed like he had already decided what was happening.

Hence his trying to steal anti-psychotics.

The demon baby theory may no longer be plausible, at least not in the traditional sense, but it could still be in play. If Fatima feels something inside her, then I believe that.

Maybe it’s something that can’t be seen on a man-made ultrasound. Nothing about that place makes sense, so why not an invisible demon baby sucking the life out of her?

WHY NOT?

Fatima still has her cravings during FROM Season 3 Episode 7.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Fatima’s rising anger was set to boil over, but even realizing that the ending made me gasp out loud.

We’ve seen some shocking deaths on this show, and while Tillie wasn’t a Tian-Chen type of loss, her death was still a surprise because of how it happened.

Fatima’s anger manifesting in her picking up some sheers and stabbing Tillie in the chest couldn’t possibly be something anyone could have anticipated. Perhaps least of all, Fatima herself.

So many people have been suspicious of Tillie, but how often she talked about her own mortality should have clued us into what was about to happen. But usually, we think of death on this show relating to the monsters when, in actuality, we’ve seen a few instances of people killing people.

So, what happens next? Ellis won’t give Fatima up, but do they end up running from the shed and hope no one sees them? Do they come clean to Boyd? What do they do?

And more importantly, what’s going to be done with Fatima? Sara may be back now, but the town wanted her gone after everything that happened, so how would they feel about this?

Donna was already ready to ship her and Ellis out of Colony House, so what will she think after she finds out Fatima has a body count now?

Boyd goes for a walk around town during FROM Season 3 Episode 7.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

There is much to think about now, along with what’s to come for the whole town, because something is happening to Fatima.

Boyd’s ever-busy plate will only get busier with this situation, but he was dealing with Officer Acosta in the meantime. And who exactly does she think she is?

I had a feeling that she would invoke a power struggle as the “real” police officer in town. Even if you agree with her position since arriving, which had been not to sit idly by and “accept” the way things are, you must admit that she was coming at it from a very naïve place.

She has not seen the things they’ve seen and been through what they’ve been through. She’s giving Jim vibes by thinking she’s better than people and going to be the savior. And look where that got Jim?

It may have been an accident, but she’s already killed someone. Why should she have her gun? How is that helpful for anyone? She saw with her own eyes that the gun didn’t even do anything to the monsters, and she’s not currently a threat to the town.

We’ve seen Boyd pull his weapon out numerous times in various situations, but it’s not helpful at all to have people walking around with guns. Especially someone like Acosta, who showed everyone that she would shoot first and ask questions later under pressure.

Acosta may reach a point where having a weapon will be helpful, and she can work alongside everyone instead of being firmly against them. But that’s different from what it currently feels like.

Ethan goes into the forest with his family during FROM Season 3 Episode 7.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

She looks at that town with pity and disdain, like she’s somehow Neo from The Matrix, the Chosen One who will figure everything out.

It would almost be funny if she weren’t so obnoxious.

Elsewhere, there were three more independent storylines: Jim, Tabitha, Ethan, and Jade out in the woods looking at the place from her dreams, Elgin’s Polaroid camera taking a picture inside Colony House of cellar doors out in the forest, and Julie and Randall randomly bonding while walking together.

None of it was terribly informative, outside of Elgin, who found a secret door in the cellar (after some curious knocking), only to head into a room with a dead body that looked like it’d been in there for a hundred years.

He then turned to see the kimono woman and whispered an ominous, “Is this really where it happens?”

WHERE WHAT HAPPENS?

We’ve got multiple people in the woods. Donna and Henry drinking. Fatima killed somebody. Acosta going rogue.

Elgin looks at one of his photos during FROM Season 3 Episode 7.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

And nightfall is right around the corner.

Loose Ends

 • Multiple people have mentioned that whatever knocks on the cabins at night out by the food is different from the monsters. That’s sure to come back around in the final three episodes.
 • Jim second-guesses Tabitha at every turn. Can he not? Why is Jade more supportive of Tabitha than her own husband?
 • I hope Bakta does re-open the diner. It’s always served as a place of comfort.

It was another slower-paced hour, but that’s not always a bad thing. Even though the intensity of the season has ramped down a bit, it’s still bleak as hell, and there’s still much to anticipate about these final hours.

There’s a significant adjustment period for those who crash-land into the town on FROM. We’ve seen those early days a few times with varying results.

When Officer Acosta entered the town with Tabitha and Henry during FROM Season 3 Episode 4, she came in firing and unfortunately left a casualty in her wake.

Now that she’s had some time to digest the situation, she wants to do more, but as you’ll see in this exclusive clip of FROM Season 3 Episode 7, she may be in for a rude awakening.

Kenny has some advice for Acosta during FROM Season 3 Episode 7.
(Courtesy of MGM+)

When the Matthews arrived during FROM Season 1 Episode 1, we saw their fear and reluctant acceptance of the town and everything that’s transpired since then.

Jim’s radio theory went badly, and Tabitha’s trip into the woods, which yielded short-term results until she found herself right back in town, showed their various quests to free their family from the terrifying town.

Everyone wants to go home, and we’ve seen various expeditions. But that’s the thing.

EVERYONE wants to go home, and different things have been tried, but it’s not that simple.

Kenny and Boyd catch up during FROM Season 3 Episode 5.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

As you’ll see in the FROM clip, Kenny, a seasoned vet at this point, tells Acosta everything she doesn’t want to hear, though he’s speaking from a place of supreme experience.

He’s been there long enough to see many people come into town and think they’ll be the ones to figure things out. And he’s been there long enough to know to see that, unfortunately, nothing has changed.

If anything, times have gotten much worse as of late.

Acosta may mean well, but she doesn’t get it…yet. Though, maybe after this kind of talk with Kenny, she’ll start to understand things a little bit better.

Acosta listens in to the town meeting during FROM Season 3 Episode 5.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Elsewhere during this hour, we’ll see the fallout from the big non-pregnancy reveal and what that could mean for Fatima.

Finding out the news during FROM Season 3 Episode 6 was a major blow for Fatima and Ellis, who were searching for answers about Fatima’s mysterious cravings.

Finding out that, at the very least, the baby isn’t showing up on an ultrasound only adds to the confusion and terror.

We’ll also see a little forage into the forest, with the Matthews and Jade embarking on a little trip to the site near the food and the three stones, which have unlocked a memory in Tabitha.

Jim and Tabitha have a talk in the woods during FROM Season 3 Episode 7.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

The trip into the woods could prove fruitful if Tabitha can unlock anything else and shed some light on the kids she keeps seeing.

There will also be continued follow-up on Randall and Julie hanging out and perhaps confiding in one another about their shared experiences.

We haven’t seem too much of this pair over time, so it’ll be interesting to see what they get up to.

What’s the worst that could happen there?

Fatima still has her cravings during FROM Season 3 Episode 7.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

With only four more episodes this season, we expect this to be another thought-provoking and creepy hour of our favorite sci-fi horror show!

Make sure to check out the clip below and comment with your thoughts about Kenny’s words of wisdom.

Even a slow hour of FROM can be a solid affair.

And FROM Season 3 Episode 6 was definitely on the slower side.

With the town still reeling a bit from Dale’s death and the last few days, you’d think it would be a day of self-reflecting and decompression, but those days rarely seem to exist in a town like that.

Ellis gets honest with his dad during FROM Season 3 Episode 6.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

The Matthews family entered the town on the brink of implosion, but their time within the town seemed to bond their family in a way they could have never imagined because everything suddenly became bigger than them.

Their grief, sadness, and pain were all forced to take a backseat as their survival instincts kicked in, and they had to figure out a way to survive the nightmare together as a single unit.

There’s never as much time for pettiness when you’re scared and just trying to make it through the day.

But with time and various situations pulling at all four of them, they’ve changed yet again, with many of those old wounds seeping through again.

Tabitha’s journey to Henry and then back again has made her second-guess herself, and you can’t exactly blame her.

Whether you agree with her choices while she was “out,” you should admit that she was dealt a tough hand, and with limited options presented to her, she did the best she could.

Hindsight will always be 20/20, and it’s so easy to critique from the outside looking in or even for Tabitha to feel disappointed in herself.

Ethan and Tabitha check in during FROM Season 3 Episode 6.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

She feels she was in a position to do something, and she didn’t. So now she’s burdened with what-ifs and guilt about what could have been if she had made a series of different decisions.

Thinking that way is futile and only causes you more pain, but it’s human. Those kinds of emotions would plague anyone in her position.

I am Jim’s biggest critic because I find him insufferable 90% of the time, but he only tried to help her in this situation. It’s not helpful to dogpile on someone when they’re doing enough of that on their own.

But sometimes people don’t want you to tell them they didn’t mess up. They want you to be realistic with them.

Tabitha wanted his honesty, but she may also have wanted to fight a little bit. Their fight spiraled into something nasty because while they bonded and re-found some of what they’d lost in their marriage before entering the town, they didn’t actually work on any of their issues.

The issues just masked the larger problem.

Most likely, Jim will return from his forage, and they’ll apologize, but this will be a constant cycle for the Matthews family, and they don’t really have the time, space, or strength to figure everything out right now.

Randall and Julie catch up on FROM Season 3 Episode 6.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

They should also focus all their strength on Julie and Ethan, who both have their own struggles.

They’ve dealt with their parents’ problems outside the town, and inside the town, they don’t need to deal with the constant threat of pain, emotional turmoil, and death on top of hearing their parents’ late-night screaming matches.

Ethan may seem like he has it together more than Julie, but he has his own issues to contend with. He’s taking Tian-Chen’s death hard, and I’m not sure anyone is truly picking up on that.

And for Julie, well, it’s becoming increasingly clear that whatever she, Randall, and Marielle experienced has done quite the number on them, though they’re all dealing with it differently.

Marielle ignores it, Julie tries to block everything out, and Randall acknowledges it but doesn’t know what to do next.

The three of them should consider sitting down and talking things out. I know that’s not a thing people in that town like to do, but it may be worth it to give a voice to your emotions with the only other people in your life who can understand what you experienced.

There’s something to be said for having that kind of connection with others.

Marielle helps Randall with his wounds during FROM Season 3 Episode 6.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Randall’s not my favorite, not by any stretch, but hearing his vulnerability in the conversation with Marielle was one of the first times I felt like Randall was more than a loud-mouth contrarian.

Hearing him say out loud that he was basically petrified of being on that bus alone every night was sad—okay! It just was. Marielle’s extending that kindness to him was a really sweet moment between two very broken and scared individuals.

Randall has a lot going on, and that restless sleep he was in while recovering has almost drained him. I fully expected him to wake up and want to go after Boyd immediately.

And while that conversation/confrontation is coming, it seems like he’s just tired right now. He couldn’t pretend like Marielle and certainly didn’t want to spend another night alone with his thoughts and suffering when there was another option.

Kristi’s reaction to Randall joining them at the clinic should be interesting. However, she and Marielle will have to handle Fatima’s non-pregnancy diagnoses before they deal with a new roommate.

People have been theorizing about Fatima and her demon baby all season, but how many of you guessed that Fatima was never actually pregnant at all? And if there’s no baby inside her, then what does that mean?

Nothing in that place makes sense, right? So, no theory is too outlandish when you think about it. But if we’re to believe there is no baby and she’s not pregnant, then we have to consider something else is happening to her body.

Boyd, Fatima, and Ellis head to the clinic during FROM Season 3 Episode 6.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

If the baby isn’t craving the sustenance of blood and spoiled food, the next logical conclusion would be that she is. Her body suddenly needs that to survive.

And if you get to that conclusion, then the next logical question would be why? Why Fatima? What happened to make her suddenly shift in such a way?

I don’t think anyone can have the answers to those questions right now, but as much as it pains me to say it, if there’s no demon baby, then maybe, simply put, Tabitha is the demon.

We have yet to find out why those monsters are there or how they became that way. It’s not like this is The Walking Dead, and those who are killed by monsters reanimate as them.

For all we know, these monsters just exist, and there’s no explanation. But in the spirit of change, what if Smiley’s death in FROM Season 2 Episode 6 caused some kind of chain reaction?

That was the first time we’ve seen a monster be killed, right? And maybe it disturbed the balance in that place, so now the town is slowly turning one of them into a monster to replace it.

This theory may be out there, and there may be many facts to refute it, but it’s not the most outlandish theory (and if it is, let me live in my delusions, people!).

Boyd makes his rounds during FROM Season 3 Episode 6.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Whether that will end up being the case or not, Fatima’s body is changing. And it’s not changing for the better. Now that they know there’s no baby, what choice do they really have but to sit around and see what happens next?

No medical textbook can tell them what to do next or how to cure anything.

This may be one of the scariest storylines of all the insanely terrifying things we’ve seen on this show.

Also scary? Victor and Henry traveling in those tunnels.

Henry seems like a kind soul, but I wanted to tell him to shut up so many times! Victor told his father to be quiet numerous times, and he just kept saying things!

But outside of that, it was sweet to see Henry want to go with Victor, even if he had no idea what he was getting into.

It will be interesting to see how their relationship develops here because there is so much love that has never stopped. But there has been so much time apart, and they’re different people.

Jasper makes his return on FROM Season 3 Episode 6.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Plus, you add in the surreal realities of their current environment, which creates a delicate and complicated dynamic they’ll have to work through.

You saw a bit of the complicated when Victor started talking about the importance of Jasper and his story, but to Henry, all he saw was a ventriloquist dummy.

Victor believes Jasper is the key to something, but Henry doesn’t fully understand, though he surely wants to support his son.

When I chatted with Scott McCord about the father/son dynamic, he gave such great insight into what we may see, and we got a good taste of the new iteration of their relationship here.

I’d be remiss not to mention the cliffhanger, which wasn’t the jaw-dropper we’re used to but should lead to many new theories.

Tabitha’s arrival in Camden, Maine, and meeting Henry were no coincidence. When she discovered all the things she did about Miranda, she realized that Miranda had been seeing and connecting with the town long before she got there.

Perhaps learning about Miranda also helped to unlock some of Tabitha’s memories. It is hard to believe that seeing the drawing at the bar suddenly made Tabith remember.

Victor and Henry venture into the tunnels during FROM Season 3 Episode 6.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

I’m guessing that trip to Maine, seeing everything Miranda drew and making connections, helped open Tabitha’s mind like Victor’s has been opening by telling stories.

So, Tabitha now remembers a recurring nightmare she had as a child about the area by the lake. WHAT?!

There is a more significant connection between Tabitha and Victor’s family. I’m becoming increasingly convinced because they are just too interconnected.

But what is that connection? Hell, if I know just yet.

Loose Ends

 • Someone has needed to hug Donna all season, and I’m glad Tabitha seized the moment. She’s carrying so much, and much like Boyd, she rarely gets the time or space to feel it all. Sometimes, a little bit of comfort helps lessen that weight.
 • Poor Kenny’s putting on a brave face, but I’m glad he did something for himself and chose to head to Colony House. I don’t know how he fits in there, but it’s in his best interest right now to get a change of scenery.
Jade and Tabitha look through pictures during FROM Season 3 Episode 6.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)
 • Tom, the dead bartender, appears to tell Jade to sober up and start thinking like the man he was before his life was changed forever. He’s not wrong.
 • Elgin continues to be the purest soul in there. Taking the pictures was an admirable attempt to bring a bit of normalcy to the chaos. But the kimono woman does not want to let him go! How can she help? Elgin’s going to have to find out what she wants.
 • Boyd’s face after learning about Fatima’s cravings was priceless. It takes a lot to leave Boyd speechless.

We’re heading into the home stretch of FROM Season 3, and it feels like we may be making some progress, but we’re also in the same place we were when the season began.

With Beyond: UFOs and The Unknown, MGM+ wants you to open your mind to possibilities you may never have considered.

If you are already a passenger on the train of the unknown, Beyond: UFOs and The Unknown is must-see TV.

Through four episodes, you’ll be taken on a journey that challenges everything you believe you know with possibilities beyond our current understanding.

(MGM+/Screenshot)

In this clip exclusive to TV Fanatic Tim Gallaudet, an American oceanographer and retired Rear Admiral in the United States Navy, shares his thoughts on the now infamous “go fast” video, which shows something many believe is not of this world.

The issue was met with much urgency, as it jeopardized pilots’ safety of flight.

Due to the possible implications of pilots needing to mitigate the unknown on their own, after reading the report, Gallaudet sent an email to every subordinate commander, bringing the issue to light.

The next morning, the email was wiped from his computer, and it was never spoken of again.

(MGM+/Screenshot)

If that doesn’t raise the hair on the back of your neck, what is revealed in the remainder of the series most certainly will.

Beyond: UFOs and The Unknown brings together experts across many fields to share their theories and thoughts about some of our most cherished “conspiracy theories” involving UFOs, mind control, and life after death.

The most astounding thing is that at the end of the four-episode journey, you might believe that the three are so intertwined as to be the same and most certainly warrant further exploration.

Beyond: UFOs and The Unknown offers much food for thought.

(MGM+/Screenshot)

Some of our most brilliant minds share their thoughts about the unknown.

A renowned American immunologist discusses what he’s uncovered about the brains of pilots who have witnessed unknown phenomena.

UFO abductee and expert Whitley Streiber details the many letters he’s received over the years that make it difficult to explain away what people have experienced.

A neurosurgeon discusses how his understanding of life itself was altered by his own near-death experience.

And a professor of philosophy and religious thought makes such a strong argument for tying all aspects of the unknown together that you, too, may never view life as we know it the same again.

Are you a curious, open-minded explorer who isn’t afraid to dive into the unknown?

Do you have a natural desire to question what we think we know and explore the deeper mysteries of existence — whether it’s UFOs, life after death, or even mind control?

If you’re not content with accepting the surface-level explanations and are instead drawn to the unconventional, always looking for connections and possibilities beyond the mainstream, then you should check out this fascinating new docuseries on MGM+.

Beyond: UFOs and The Unknown premieres on Sunday, October 27, only on MGM+.

Victor has come a long way from the man we met in FROM Season 1.

Victor has been a bit of a loner with a sad history, but he has evolved over time. And just when he was ready to confront his past and start looking into the pieces of his history he could no longer remember, he was thrown a loop; his father was in town.

Victor and Henry’s reunion during FROM Season 3 Episode 5 was incredibly moving. A lot of emotions were packed into a hug that neither man thought they’d ever experience again.

Victor thinks about reuniting with his father during FROM Season 3 Episode 5.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Scott McCord injects such warmth and depth into Victor, and we jumped at the chance to discuss the father-son reunion and Victor’s complicated feelings.

McCord was an absolute delight and was so sincere in his assessment of the fan-favorite Victor.

Enjoy this one, FROM fanatics!

This last episode was devastating in many ways. It’s an emotional hour for Victor with Henry coming to the town.

Can you describe Victor’s emotions upon learning he’ll be reunited with his father after so many years?

Victor Helps - FROM Season 2 Episode 10
(MGM+/Chris Reardon)

Yeah, yeah. I would love to talk about it. It was certainly something that I wasn’t expecting to happen. Of course, we never know what’s happening script to script, and we never know what the milestone events of the season are.

When they introduced Henry, I thought, oh yeah, this is exciting. And then when I found out in episode four that he makes it into the town and they’re going to meet, well, it certainly evoked all kinds of emotion just in me.

I thought it was beautiful, but I felt scared to approach it as an actor because I thought, “What’s that going to be like?”

I think that with Victor, what immediately came up for me was this idea of, or this feeling, I should say, which I think Victor’s been feeling this season anyway, is this idea of, did I do all this? In some way, especially with the arrival of Henry, it’s this idea of, how did I fail him? Did I fail him?

My mother’s gone, and my sister’s gone. In that moment with Henry, when Victor says, “I didn’t know how to get back home,” there is such immense guilt in that, I think.

Victor and Sara walk around the town during FROM Season 3 Episode 5.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

And that’s something moving forward with Henry, and within their relationship, they’re trying to figure out what is between them. It’s like he’s feeling his way as a father, and what does that mean now? Victor’s feeling like how do we deal with this lifetime loss?

And with Victor, there’s an incredible amount of guilt, but also in terms of Victor’s purpose in solving this thing, going into his memories, trying to remember. I think so much of it is going to be and become about saving his father as well, now making up for that lifetime loss.

You just answered a little bit of my next question. Where will we see things go with Henry and Victor moving forward? I imagine it will also be interesting and difficult for Victor to step into the role of being a son again and have family around.

Yeah, it was something, too, from Robert Joy, who plays Henry. I mean, he’s beautiful. He’s just one of the most wonderful and generous actors and wonderful people.

We talked a lot about that while the story is moving forward, and Victor again has his path that he’s on, at the same time, where are those moments? Do they have the time?

Victor Considers - FROM Season 2 Episode 7
(MGM+/Chris Reardon)

What are those moments between them, even within just a simple look or a touch between them, where they’re trying to figure out how do I be the son and how do I be the father? It was a beautiful exploration all season that way with that.

These are great questions. It was a big part of the story and a big part of the work this year.

What do you feel you’ve learned about Victor this season that you didn’t know back in FROM Season 1?

What came up for me immediately when you asked that, and I haven’t actually thought too much about that.

But I think that one of the discoveries that I remember making and feeling, and this sort of ties into what we were just talking about with Henry, is where with Victor, there’s a regression that’s been certainly happening with dealing with this trauma and the memories.

Victor Draws - From Season 1 Episode 2
(Epix/Photo Credit: Chris Reardon)

But when that happens, I think that certain changes happen to people when they start really cracking.

Even just discovering and remembering that he had a sister. What did he used to think about? What is it going to do to him?

And I started to feel like this season, there are these moments where Victor all of a sudden grows up a little bit, comes up a little bit, and takes charge.

We see, or I hope that there is, and what I discovered was that all of a sudden, there was a slightly more mature Victor happening in certain moments in terms of dealing with everything and then dealing with his father.

So, I guess to answer your question simply, I think what was exciting for me was that Victor does change in certain ways. I also noticed that while everything had been going inward, inward, inward for him for so long, as we see in these episodes that are coming up now, he starts to act outwards.

Victor Outside - FROM Season 2 Episode 5
(MGM+/Chris Reardon)

It starts to happen outwards. He starts to put his energy out that way and in not-so-good ways, so that was new as well.

One of the biggest strengths of FROM is the cast. You guys have a really strong cast, and there are a lot of great dynamics. I’ve actually really enjoyed Victor and Sara. That’s a very interesting dynamic. What is a dynamic you like that Victor has with another character?

I’m so glad you brought up the one with Sara because Avery [Konrad] and I had never worked together, so those were our first scenes together. She’s amazing, and we crack each other up, but the relationship that we found, the dynamic that we found, is so brotherly, brother, sister.

And there’s safety in that fort and that little hobble they create together of trust and understanding. I think of each other as well.

Where with Victor, even knowing who she is, I love that dynamic. I just thought it was just very, very layered in a way that these two people, what would bring them together and trust each other in that way.

Victor and Sara see something in town during FROM Season 3 Episode 5.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

And yet, at the same time, I think there’s a simplicity to it that is really beautiful. It’s just almost like it’s just kind of there right from the get-go.

He steps into the house, and they have this relationship, but I think it’s partly because Victor even says, “I used to play with my sister in this house,” and there was a history to the house and all that. That’s a relationship that was exciting to me this season.

If you could give us one word to tease the last half of FROM Season 3, what would you say?

I’m going to hyphenate a word.

Victor and Sara talk about the past during FROM Season 3 Episode 5.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Okay.

Two words. I was going to say cracked, but I’m going to say cracked-open.

Cracked-open?

Is that fair? Can I give you that?

Jade & Victor Working Together - FROM Season 2 Episode 5
(MGM+/Chris Reardon)

Yeah!

Does that work?

That’s perfect. I love it. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much.

We may have gotten the answer to the long-simmering question as to why the townspeople don’t talk to one another during FROM Season 3 Episode 5.

The town hall meeting was a hot mess from start to finish, leading to even more division, anger, and fright.

And another casualty. There’s always another casualty.

Ellis tries to talk to his dad during FROM Season 3 Episode 5.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Coming out of FROM Season 3 Episode 4, you could sense that everyone was even more on edge, and that’s to be expected after the night they had.

Holding a meeting, especially in light of Tabitha’s return, was the right call if only to avoid the inevitable whisper down the lane set to start immediately. But when you get a bunch of frustrated and terrified people in a room, things devolve rather quickly.

I’ve been wondering why no one talks to each other on a loop for what feels like years now, and it’s also a popular question among fans.

You have all these different people experiencing different things, and no one sits down to talk to each other about them. If they all started to compare notes, they could make connections and, if nothing else, get a deeper understanding of their surroundings.

But that’s never really happened. Someone may talk to their significant other, like Jim and Tabitha. Or Boyd and Donna will fill each other in, but those more extensive conversations never occur.

Well, not before this hour.

Considering everything Tabitha had just gone through, taking a day or two to decompress would have been more than understandable. Still, she wanted to attend the meeting to tell people what happened.

Donna attends the town meeting during FROM Season 3 Episode 5.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Tabitha wasn’t trying to hide, and that was commendable in its own way.

But when she started to talk about what happened, and everyone started to push back, I wondered for a second who was right and who was wrong in the situation when, realistically, it was just a bunch of scared reacting to their circumstances.

No one knows what they would have done in Tabitha’s position. No one knows what they would have felt like waking up in pain, alone in a hospital room, and suddenly thrust back into a world that had continued without them.

She was rightfully most concerned about no one believing what she had to say and being put away or put in a position where she couldn’t figure out the why of it all. Why was she dropped in that place, and what was she supposed to do to help?

It’s impossible to say what could have happened had Tabitha just started telling her story.

Even though she ended up back in town, with Henry to boot, maybe in hindsight, that will end up being something that saves them. You can’t know right now, so it didn’t feel right to attack her when she was doing the best she could.

But on the flip side, everyone was tired, and knowing that Tabitha made it out, even if it was by some small miracle, galvanized everyone to want to try.

Ellis and Fatima attend the town meeting on FROM Season 3 Episode 5.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Dale being the most outspoken at the meeting tracks because he’s a selfish, loose canon, but Fatima’s thinking is shocking at first until you remember what she’s dealing with.

She knew something was wrong with her and that pregnancy, so when she heard the tale about Tabitha getting home, she longed for the same thing.

Ellis backing her up and essentially going against what Boyd was saying took his father off-guard, and I was glad Boyd later got a chance, to be honest with him about the realities of what was currently happening.

As predictable as some parts of their current world can be (you see the tree, you can’t leave, the monsters come out at night), so much of it is unpredictable. The faraway trees don’t guarantee you a pass out to the lighthouse, the boy in white pushing you out, and you wake up in the real world.

Knowing there’s a way out is good news, but deluding yourself into thinking you’ve now found the way when there’s also tangible proof that faraway trees will lead you somewhere terrifying doesn’t do anyone any good.

Hold onto what you know to be true and work from there.

Dale, Fatima, and Ellis essentially said they wanted to jump in the tree and see what would happen. How is that helpful?

Boyd and Ellis have it out during FROM Season 3 Episode 5.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Harold Perrineau is just so damn good, and everything about that talk with Ellis was great. His controlled annoyance and genuine concern for his son and why he couldn’t see that fanning the flames does nothing to help the people in town was so well done.

Because the truth is that they still don’t know what they’re dealing with, yet trying to protect people from themselves very quickly turned Boyd into the bad guy.

There’s something to be said about taking chances, but how many times must we see people take chances that end in disaster? Tabitha’s didn’t (though you could argue finding yourself right back in town WAS a disaster ending), but hers was a unique situation that led her directly to someone connected to the town.

It’s not like she landed on the beach in Miami to just resume living.

When Dale walked out of that diner, I knew he was going off into the woods, and there was probably no stopping him. Even with Tabitha and Jade there warning him it was a terrible idea, there was no getting through to someone like Dale, who has proven time and time again that he’s only concerned about himself.

There was negative way Dale was making it out of that tree alive, but the manner in which he died? Just absolutely brutal.

The motel pool with the truck having its little moment earlier in the season was some nasty foreshadowing. The pool was just an eyesore previously, and now it’ll be known as the place where Dale died, and the hopelessness only got worse.

Boyd makes s hocking discovery on FROM Season 3 Episode 5.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

Dale’s stubbornness set Boyd off, and it was almost as if he couldn’t help himself yelling at the people to fully understand what was happening. The magical trees would never be the solution, not with their current limited knowledge.

Look at Dale! Not even a few hours after their meeting, he’s now dead because he chased after something he didn’t understand.

Who’s next?

Hope has been dwindling all season, and that will only add to it. Boyd’s in an odd position as the leader, trying to keep people from losing all hope while helping them understand what they’re facing.

While the town was melting down, some people chose to forgo the town hall, and Victor struggled with the realization that his dad was there.

Can you even imagine what that must feel like? Victor surely had to have made his own form of peace with never seeing his father again, and then, out of nowhere, he was just there.

The emotions swirling through Victor had to be overwhelming, and that flight response kicked in. He needed a minute. It’s not like he could avoid Henry forever; the town would never allow that, but taking a beat to process when he was for the best.

Henry and Ethan walk around the town during FROM Season 3 Episode 5.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)

If Henry had just been thrust in his face, that may not have been what was best for either of them at that moment.

Victor’s a grown man, albeit stunted from a forgotten childhood and so much time spent alone, but he’s not the young boy Henry knew. That’s scary.

What if you look your father in the eye after all these years, and he doesn’t recognize you?

Victor had every reason to be scared, and Henry also had his reasons.

It’s wild because he’s lived without his family, having to bury them away, and now he’s transported to this nightmarish place where his wife and daughter died, but his son still lives.

Talk about bittersweet.

The reunion between father and son may have been one of the saddest moments in the show’s history, which is saying something when we had to hear Tian-Chen’s screams during FROM Season 3 Episode 1.

Victor and Sara see something in town during FROM Season 3 Episode 5.

Ethan summed up Victor pretty well when he told Henry that Victor was grumpy but didn’t mean to be. He’s still very much childlike in many ways but incredibly wise and sincere. He may seem accustomed to that place, but he’s just as terrified as everyone else.

Henry and Victor have much to discuss, but it will also be nice to exist together and get to know one another as they are now.

Elsewhere, Fatima finally came clean to Ellis about her raw diet. What in the world is he going to do with that information? Knowing him, he probably won’t say anything, but there’s no way this gets better.

There are many theories about what’s happening to Fatima, and I’m still inclined to believe she’s infested with one of the monsters. This sounds simplistic enough but also makes no sense.

So, basically, it’s FROM’s whole premise, in a nutshell.

If Ellis DOES tell someone else, like Boyd, what does he do with that information? Do they all go to Kristi and Marielle together? Do they think they’ll be able to help Fatima figure out why she craves rotten food and blood like it’s a regular occurrence?

This is unchartered territory for everyone, and at this point, there doesn’t seem to be much that can even be done besides indulging Fatima with that spoiled food, I guess.

Fatima wanders around outside during FROM Season 3 Episode 5.

But at least now Fatima isn’t hiding from Ellis anymore because that would have eventually become too much to bear on top of everything else.

As we turn into the back half of the season, the town has perhaps never been more fractured, cold, and barely hanging on.

Loose Ends

 • Officer Acosta really tried it with Boyd. Maybe she meant well, but coming in and thinking you have the answers when you know 1% of the story takes a lot of nerve.
 • Victor and Sara are a pairing that works well, all things considered. Victor doesn’t sugarcoat anything, and Sara’s at a point where all she can do is be herself and hope for the best.
 • When Randall is up and walking around again, good luck to Boyd.
Kenny checks in with Boyd during FROM Season 3 Episode 5.
(Chris Reardon/MGM+)
 • Do Tabitha and Boyd ever really talk? It would be interesting to see a conversation between those two, Jade, and Victor, because all four of them have had very unique experiences, but detailing them to one another could be helpful for all of them.
 • Donna seems to be struggling, and I don’t know that anyone outside of Boyd has noticed yet.
 • Elgin and Julie are the pair-up I never knew I needed! I was sure something horrific would happen in that basement while they channeled their inner Madonna and Michael Jackson, but nothing happened! They got to have some silly, goofy fun without the worst thing imaginable bringing them down.

We’re officially halfway through this season, and there hasn’t been a bad hour yet!

From Dale’s death to Fatima’s confession and THAT father/son reunion, there’s plenty to discuss, so please drop all your thoughts below!

You can watch FROM on Sundays at 9/8c on MGM+.
