Some TV show restaurants know how to make food correctly and make fans wish they could get in their cars and order some delicious creations.

This eclectic mix of fine dining restaurants with Michelin Star dreams to TV show diners puts real-life restaurants to shame.

Whether the featured restaurant is the show’s center, the hangout spot for characters, a front, or a simple side story, these on-screen eateries will tantalize taste buds.

In no particular order, here are the top restaurants on TV shows that give real-world restaurants a bad name.

Just reading about them will make you hungry!

The Bear — The Bear

Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto has made The Bear, the show and restaurant, one of the premier TV restaurants ever.

His expectations are high, and anything short of perfection is a failure.

“If it’s not perfect, it doesn’t go out,” says Carmy. His list of non-negotiables includes less is more, vibrant collaboration, pushing boundaries, and constantly evolving creativity.

With the bar set that high, how could its fare not be top-notch and put real-life restaurants to shame? The fact it is set in Chicago also raises the bar.

On and off-screen, the windy city is made for foodies.

Opening a restaurant there is no easy feat. You need expertise, dedication, and a competitive edge in the city’s saturated market.

The Bear is one of the best TV restaurants for fine dining ran by chef/owner Carmy.

Only time will tell what happens to The Bear, but with a picture wall of all Chicago food critics, the food itself, and the staff’s pure willpower, it is undoubtedly one of the best TV restaurants.

Bluth’s Original Frozen Bananas — Arrested Development

Besides the fact that there is always money in the banana stand and that it has been ruined and rebuilt multiple times, Bluth’s frozen banana stand is an Arrested Development staple.

However, it is much more than a frozen banana concession.

Menu items include the George Daddy, the G.O.B, the On the Go-Go Banana, the Giddy-Girly Banana, the Simple Simon, and, of course, the OG Frozen Banana.

It’s basically a main character, and since it has been operating for so long as a Newport Beach icon, it must be doing something right with those scrumptious frozen bananas.

The Bluth's Original Frozen Bananas stand famous in Balboa Island and is one of the best imaginary eateries.

Guigino’s — It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

According to the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia gang, Guigino’s is Philly’s best eatery and the only restaurant featured multiple times throughout the show.

It’s a place where the crew experiences some of their most celebrated, hilarious, and disastrous moments.

It is a nicer TV restaurant, known for its “fresh fish daily” and piping hot plates of spaghetti.

The gang may not be known for having high standards, but they don’t joke around when it comes to Guigino’s or their opinions.

Considering that they have returned multiple times, including Mac and Dennis’s monthly dinner, and that it is always depicted as busy, as seen during the infamous The Gang Dines Out episode, this Italian establishment must be a top Philly restaurant.

Guigino's Italian Restaurant is one of Phily's finest TV show restaurants.

Bob’s Burgers — Bob’s Burgers

Despite the lack of business and the fact the family isn’t rolling in money, there is ample proof that Bob’s Burgers serves some tasty patties, making it one of the best TV restaurants.

Not to mention the creative names given to the Burgers of the Day.

Bob’s business rival and enemy, Jimmy, even admits they are scrumptious when he recommends Bob to the yacht club, knowing the burgers will leave their mark.

Warren is stunned by the lack of success, given the amazing flavor of Bob’s burgers, and he wants desperately to invest in the restaurant.

The lack of customers in the show represents the establishment’s atmosphere and possibly the chaos brought by Tina, Louise, and Gene, definitely not the yumminess served.

With daily special names like Baby You Can Chive My Car, Poblano Picasso, A Good Manchego is Hard to Find, The Final Kraut-Down, and The Judy Garlic, how could one not want to eat there every day?

Bob's burgers speak for themselves, and the burgers of the day cannot be beat.
(Fox/Hulu Screenshot)

The Peach Pit — Beverly Hills, 90210

The Peach Pit is one of the best TV show diners and a local hangout spot for the Beverly Hills, 90210 crew.

It is owned by Nat Bussichio (Joe E. Tata), and Brandon Walsh and Dixon Wilson work there.

Classic diner menu items can be unique when they are done right.

They aren’t known for being fancy, or all that different from any other diner, but the ingredients, flavor combinations, and cooking styles are what set each apart.

The mega burger is the diner’s famed menu item.

Still, there are plenty of other mouth-watering items, like the mint chocolate marshmallow jelly bean extravaganza sundae and the tuna melt.

Then, of course, there is the peach pie, fries, and shakes.

Krusty Krabs — SpongeBob SquarePants

The Krusty Krab, a SpongeBob SquarePants mainstay, is famous for its krabby patty, and the Bikini Bottom fast food restaurant has always caught fans’ attention.

While the origin of the patty’s top-secret recipe may be a little murky, one thing is definite — people are willing to overpay to eat it.

If a restaurant was trying to sell a burger for $20 in the real world, it better be dipped in gold.

However, no one seems to mind paying the absurdly high price that Mr. Krabs, the money-hungry owner, has set.

The Krusty Krab is known for being an underwater on-screen eatery known for its krabby patty.
(Nickelodeon/Youtube Screenshot)

The other menu items, such as coral bits, kelp rings, salty sauce, the salty sea dog, and golden loaf, also keep customers returning for more.

It is the best restaurant under the sea, and the customers who keep it afloat clearly can’t get enough of those tasty patties!

Los Pollos Hermanos — Breaking Bad

The Breaking Bad Los Pollos Hermanos fast-food chicken chain may have a not-so-by-the-books way of doing business.

Still, its signature pollo is highly praised by numerous characters, and, just like Gus Fring’s other businesses, he clearly took his chicken game seriously.

Los Pollos Hermanos may be more than your average fast-food chain, but Gus has a real dedication to his chicken.
(AMC/Netflix Screenshot)

The finest ingredients are brought together with love and care and then slow-cooked to perfection, which can tickle just about anyone’s taste buds.

The restaurant oozes confidence.

Employees answer the phone with its motto: Los Pollos Hermanos, where something delicious is always cooking, and it boasts that perfection is noticeable with only one taste.

Although it may be hard to go wrong with fried chicken in any capacity, the whole Southwest region of the United States loves this place, earning it a spot as one of the best TV show restaurants.

Alamo Freeze — Friday Night Lights

Alamo Freeze is the place to hang in Dillion, Texas, and has been the place of many Friday Night Lights memorable moments.

Its ice cream, milkshakes, and sundaes are the perfect complement to a Tammy Taylor heart-to-heart, and if Tim Riggins chooses it over drinking, even once, then you know it must be worth the hype.

Alamo Freeze is a fast-food TV show restaurant and notorious hangout spot in Friday Night Lights.
(NBC/Netflix Screenshot)

Landry and Julie even spend their last night there, showcasing how vital that soft serve is to the locals.

It is the place to satisfy your sweet tooth craving and get extra jimmies!

Freddy’s BBQ — House of Cards

Frank Underwood’s restaurant of choice is Freddy’s BBQ Joint, and succulent ribs are its specialty.

So much so that the House of Cards protagonist has them delivered to his office whenever he gets a hankering.

It is the place Freddy goes to escape Capitol Hill politics and indulge in slow-cooked, tantalizing pork.

This hole-in-the-wall is one of the best TV restaurants because it is just that!

There are no frills, no delicate herbs placed on the plate with tweezers, just good old-school soul food-style BBQ, bringing in DC big wigs.

Freddy's BBQ servers mouthwatering ribs and a place for Freddy to escape.
(Netflix/Netflix Screenshot)

Mr. Cluck’s Chicken Shack — Lost

The famous Lost fast food chain, Mr. Cluck’s Chicken Shack, looks like some of the juiciest chicken seen on screen.

Of course, the Los Pollos versus Mr. Cluck’s debate is an ongoing war between these TV restaurants, and the whole getting hit by a meteor (meteorite?) thing doesn’t help Mr. Cluck’s.

Neither does Gus’s attention to cleanliness and high standards.

However, there is no denying that some of the best fried chicken comes from eateries that, like their chicken, are just greasy. But that is OKAY.

It’s about what comes out of that fryer and into your mouth, but it’s not always about whether you can eat off the restaurant’s floor.

Plus, Hugo has a real passion when it comes to chicken, and if he eats buckets of it, then it must be delectable.

Mr. Cluck's Chicken Shack is a fast-food restaurant featured in Lost.
(ABC/Netflix Screenshot)

Nuovo Vesuvio — The Sopranos

Just the fact that Nuovo Vesuvio has a person specifically hired to make mozzarella is all the information needed to understand why it’s one of the best imaginary eateries.

Not to mention the recurrence of the Italian joint on the series, and there is no way The Sopranos are eating at a less-than-par restaurant.

Tony and many other characters have numerous lunches, dinners, parties, and meetings at Nuovo Vesuvio.

Tony even dreams that he and Carmella meet Finn’s parents here.

Sure, some iffy things go on circling the food, but before Artie lost his passion for cooking, it was widely known for its superb food.

Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen in New Jersey, so the place must be doing something right.

Double R Diner — Twin Peaks

The Double R Diner on Twin Peaks is one of the most infamous TV show diners.
(ABC/Youtube Screenshot)

The Twin Peaks Double R Diner is more than just one of the many TV show diners.

It is a safe haven for the show characters, and its comforting food is a crowd-pleaser regardless of where you are from.

The coffee, donuts, and, of course, pie are staples at this local institution, and the fact it is the town’s food provider for Meals on Wheels only adds to its charm.

The wide range of menu items including veal, king crab, spaghetti, chicken fried steak, corned beef, ribs, are matched with classic breakfast and sandwich options.

The versatility speaks for itself the famous cherry pie is the perfect dessert to end a memorable meal.

Pop’s Diner — Riverdale

Pop's serves the best milkshakes out of any TV show diners.
(The CW/Netflix Screenshot)

Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe, also known as Pop’s Diner, on Riverdale is another example of how TV show diners can make fans want to jump through their screens and into a seat.

Regardless of the reason behind needing one the characters always turn to them in good and bad times.

The milkshakes that are served from this on-screen eatery are what drives business and keeps the locals coming back for more. Archie also recommends the onion rings, and they do look amazing.

And we can’t forget when Jughead takes Doiley’s sundae while questioning him and eats it.

Regardless of the restaurant style, these mainstays are just as important in their shows as the characters, and each have their own stories.

Despite the reason for being as popular as they are, or what makes the food so delectable, they are memorable fiestas of flavors.

We want to know what your favorite imaginary eateries are in the comments below!

Some shows have a meteoric rise right from the jump, and then there are incredibly written and beautifully acted series like The Bear.

The show has become a sleeper hit, surprising audiences with its genius storytelling.

Now, The Bear is a certified hit that almost everyone has seen.

After amassing over a hundred award nominations and securing over forty wins, including three Golden Globes, the series has been shattering awards records.

In its first season, The Bear won ten Emmys, surpassing 30 Rock, the previous record holder.

So, it should come as no surprise that fans of the critically acclaimed show are ready for even more just a couple of months after the previous season’s premiere.

Now, grab your apron because we’re about to start service on everything we know so far about The Bear Season 4!

Has The Bear Been Renewed for Season 4?

That would be a resounding “Yes, chef!”

(Chuck Hodes/FX)

Not only was The Bear renewed for another season right after the premiere of Season 2, but it was also filmed back-to-back with it.

It’s not all that shocking, considering the massive hit the show has become, with its list of famous and familiar-faced guest stars that only seems to be growing.

What Is The Bear About?

A young, talented chef named Carmen “Carmy” Anthony Berzatto inherits his family’s Italian beef sandwich shop after the suicide of his older brother, Michael.

He comes home to Chicago to run it, leaving behind his world of working in Michelin-starred restaurants.

He is left to deal with his brother’s unresolved debts, a rundown kitchen, and an unruly staff while dealing with his own pain and family trauma.

After the events of The Bear Season 3, there’s a lot still up in the air for the overworked and overstressed staff of the sandwich shop turned fine-dining eatery on this fantastic FX series.

Sydney has a big decision to make, possibly the biggest of her life, because staying at The Bear or taking the chef de cuisine at another restaurant will define her future.

Then there’s the Chicago Tribune review, a pivotal plot point that will likely direct the main story in the upcoming season.

As always, Carmy’s mental health and personal growth seem to be an endless well of internal struggle that just about any audience member can relate to.

How Many Episodes Will The Bear Season 4 Have?

Though parts of Season 4 have already been filmed, the series is still in production, so there has yet to be an official episode count.

However, considering how much Hulu puts into the hit series, it would be a surprise to see the next season get any number less than ten.

If anything, it’s more likely that the season will have more, or possibly even a holiday episode or two.

Who Is In The Bear Season 4?

Like many ensemble shows with a lead, fans of the series have formed a familial-like bond with the characters, and it just wouldn’t be The Bear without the same kitchen staff.

Then there is the ever-growing list of guest stars that continue to enter the series in droves, with any of them likely to make another exciting appearance.

John Cena (Peacemaker) as Sammy Fak

Josh Hartnett (Penny Dreadful) as Frank

Gillian Jacobs (Community) as Tiffany

Joel McHale (Stargirl) as David Fields

Is There a Trailer for The Bear Season 4?

Related: Virgin River Season 6: Everything We Know So Far

There’s no official trailer just yet.

As mentioned above, The Bear is still filming the rest of its episodes, but considering the head start they have, audiences won’t have to wait very long.

Fans of the series won’t have to go far because we at TV Fanatic are going to serve up the trailer with meticulous plating!

Where Can I Watch The Bear Season 4?

Fans of The Bear can catch Season 4 on Hulu, where the streamer will likely drop all episodes simultaneously unless otherwise informed.

Audiences can catch up with the kitchen staff with all three seasons streaming on the app.

When Is The Premiere Date For The Bear Season 4?

Now, there is some good and bad news because even though some of Season 4 has already been filmed, there is little chance it’ll arrive early.

However, fans of the series can keep their hopes high that The Bear will probably return in June.

Either way, FX executive John Landgraf is confident the series will return in 2025, as he told Variety.

Will She Go? - The Bear
(Courtesy of FX)

“We couldn’t bring it back sooner because of all of the film projects the actors are on right now. We started a show with a team of great actors.

“Now we have a show with a team of movie stars. They do have to go back for a chunk of production. And we actually haven’t seen all the scripts yet.

“We’ve seen most of them, but not all of them.

Related: TV Dramatically Changed Its Programming Tactics. Is It Better or Worse?

“I would say one of the things I just really like about The Bear, which is something I used to like about television, is the sense that things came back every year,” Landgraf continued.

“When you loved something, when you had an experience with it, it was a part of the year that you looked forward to.

“Now, not only do you often only get a very short period of time with a show, because it’s not a network show with 22 episodes that airs over 30 weeks, but very few shows come back annually.

“So, I’m actually incredibly proud and grateful to the team at The Bear that have dedicated themselves — despite all the other hoopla they’ve been dealing with — to bring this thing back annually.

“I can’t say for sure, but my guess is it’ll come back the same time next year.”

What Other Shows Are Premiering?

Though viewers will have to wait roughly a year before the next installment in this massive hit series, Hulu has plenty of original shows to keep them busy while they wait for The Bear.

Head on over to the East Coast, where Selena Gomez, Steve Marin, and Martin Short entertain the hell out of viewers with Only Murders in the Building back for its fourth season this August.

When you’re ready for something chilling, the children’s series that keeps coming back, like Slappy the Dummy, is returning with a new cast and story for the second season of Goosebumps.

For a dose of love, lies, and drama, tune into the Hulu original series Tell Me Lies, based on Carola Lovering’s 2018 novel about the unfolding of a relationship over eight years.

Related: And Just Like That… Season 3: Everything We Know So Far

That’s not the only novel adaptation returning as the critically acclaimed hit series Shogun, based on James Clavell’s 1975 novel, is already in production for a second and third season.

Hulu has so many certified amazing shows on its roster that there’s plenty to keep audiences entertained while Carmy and crew return to television screens.

And The Bear is a show we hope we get to enjoy for many more years.

Every second counts.

It's become the unofficial mantra for fans of The Bear, encompassing both the importance of speed in the world of fine dining and the necessity of embracing even the most mundane aspects of day-to-day life.

And clearly, Hulu execs have taken those words to heart, as the streamer announced today that the long-awaited third season of The Bear will be dropping slightly earlier than expected.

According to a press release issued today, "all ten episodes of the show’s highly anticipated new season will now be available exclusively on Hulu at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT on Wednesday, June 26, three hours sooner than originally scheduled."

Okay, so it's only a few hours difference, but it might enable you to start binging The Bear on Wednesday evening after work, as opposed to being forced to wait until Thursday night.

(And spending your entire Thursday dodging spoilerific memes posted by your unemployed friends.)

Time to Get Started - The Bear
(FX on Hulu (Teaser Screenshot))

Today's press release went on to offer a rough idea of what we can expect from our third serving of Berzatto family drama.

Season three of FX’s The Bear follows Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri), and Richard 'Richie' Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they do what it takes to elevate The Bear.

Elevating their beef stand turned fine dining establishment to the highest level, all while doing their best just to stay in business is not going to be an easy task.

"It’s a losing battle every single day in the restaurant business. Carmy pushes himself harder than ever and demands excellence from his crew, who do their best to match his intensity."

Yes, Carmy and Sydney have upgraded from Italian roast beef to Wagyu and filet mignon.

Partners in Cuisine -tall - The Bear
(Chuck Hodes/FX)

But that doesn't mean their lives are any less stressful than when they first became partners.

"Their quest for culinary excellence will propel the crew to new levels and stress the bonds that hold the restaurant together," reads today's statement.

"As the team grows in size, each member will strive to reach a greater level of service within their role. In the restaurant industry, you’re never on solid ground, and with that ever-changing landscape comes new challenges and opportunities.

"Our chefs have learned that every second counts, but this season, we’ll find out if they have what it takes to make it to tomorrow.

Sydney's Taste Tour -tall - The Bear
(Chuck Hodes/FX)

There's that catchphrase we've come to expect!

Speaking of timing, The Bear is one of very few prestige shows that manages to release a new season every 12 months without fail.

That said, because Hulu drops all ten episodes on the same day, it might 51 weeks since you last checked in on the bickering Berzatto clan.

Thankfully, this is an old-school, character-driven show that doesn't rely much on plot intricacies.

Even so, we're big fans of one-episode-per-week programming, if only because a year is a long time to wait for new episodes.

Fans of Alias should be very excited about the upcoming spy thriller The Veil, starring Elisabeth Moss.

Moss, who has played many headstrong and intelligent women, is a perfect fit to pick up the mantle dropped by Sydney Bristow.

A trailer for the upcoming FX series reveals, "MI6 Agent Imogen Salter is used in very high-level situations, but she's known to be erratic and unpredictable."

Whether playing Peggy on Mad Men or June Osborne on The Handmaid's Tale, Moss has a knack for stepping into the shoes of erratic, unpredictable, highly competent, intelligent women who often put their male counterparts to shame.

Starring Moss, FX's The Veil is a spy thriller that explores the surprising and fraught relationship between two women who play a deadly game of truth and lies on the road from Istanbul to Paris and London.

One woman has a secret, and the other has a mission to reveal it before thousands of lives are lost.

In the shadows, the CIA and French DGSE must work together to avert potential disaster.

Yumna Marwan, Dali Benssalah, and Josh Charles also star.

The Veil is written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, FX's Taboo), the series is executive produced by Knight alongside Di Novi Pictures' Denise Di Novi, and Moss under her Love & Squalor Pictures banner.

When a plan arises to kill half a million people, Imogen is called in by the US Government to befriend and get information from an extremely intelligent target on the Turkish border.

"I've played so many people in my life, I don't know where I belong anymore," Imogen says.

A Frenemy

Moss seems like the least likely person to become an action hero, but she's proven her value in many unexpected ways.

Much like Imogen Salter, Moss can morph into a hundred different strangers and take us along for the ride.

From character to character, what never subsides is her steely gaze that is sure to haunt her foes. Moss has perfected a look that others could only hope to emulate.

Moss seems like the least likely person to become an action hero, but she's proven her value in many unexpected ways.

Looking for everything there is to know about the Alien TV series? We've rounded up the plot, the setting, the cast, and everything else. Read on!

We've been eagerly anticipating the Alien prequel series from Noah Hawley for a long time.

The long-gestating project has had several bumps in the road, but thankfully, it's finally beginning to take shape.

As a result, we've rounded up everything there is to know about the series that will take us into the universe before Sigourney Weaver made her mark as Ripley.

Alien: Will the FX Series Feature Sigourney Weaver as Ripley?

Sigourney Weaver's Ripley was the main attraction of the countless movies, but don't expect Ripley to be a part of this story.

According to FX, the new series takes place long before Ripley is in space.

"Alien takes place before Ripley. It's the first story that takes place in the Alien franchise on Earth," said FX exec John Landgraf to Deadline in 2022.

Wednesday Season 2: Everything We Know

"So, it takes place on our planet. Right near the end of this century we're in — so 70-odd years from now."

"Ripley won't be a part of it or any of the other characters of Alien other than the alien itself."

"Noah has this incredible ability, and I think you've seen it with Fargo, to both find a way of being faithful, showing fidelity to an original creation like a Coen brothers' movie, or in this case, Ridley Scott's and James Cameron's follow-up, Aliens, but also to bring something new to the table that represents extension and reinvention of a franchise at the same time."

It's not a surprise we won't be meeting a younger iteration of Ripley because this story is supposed to kickstart a whole new chapter in the Alien universe.

Bringing Ripley in would detract from the other new characters because people would probably tune in for the iconic character.

However, we wouldn't mind an appearance from Ripley down the line, possibly a cameo if the series stands the test of time.

Many new series don't survive their first season, but the hope here is that the creatives manage to craft a compelling chapter that will stand the test of time.

Do I Need to Watch the Alien Movies to Watch the Series?

No. Thanks to how the series is designed, it will be accessible to new and old viewers.

This doesn't mean there won't be ties to the movies, but they should serve as easter eggs more than anything else.

FX's Alien Cast: Who's In?

Now that we know who isn't in the cast, it's time to look at who will be on the show.

– Essie Davis as Dame Silvia

– Alex Lawther as CJ

– Samuel Blenkin as Boy Kavalier

– Sydney Chandler as Wendy

While plot details are being kept well under wraps until closer to transmission, we know the series adaptation will take us to Earth.

That doesn't sound too out of this world, but it means there's a good chance we'll be watching some form of alien crash-landing on Earth and unleashing plenty of drama.

Naturally, that leads to many narrative possibilities as we see an Earth in the not-too-distant future coming to grips with aliens.

Apple TV+'s polarizing drama series Invasion has that covered, so we're hopeful that FX's Alien is a nice change of pace.

Noah Hawley consistently delivers stellar TV series, so we're inclined to believe this will be an alien series unlike any other.

Beyond the setting, we don't know how the incredible cast of characters fits into this world, which is interesting.

Knowing so little makes us want to know more, so we hope plenty of answers are on the horizon when the promotional train gets underway.

Is Filming Underway on FX's Alien?

Production on the first season got underway earlier this year, but it was halted quickly due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.

With the strikes resolved, filming is expected to resume in Thailand early next year, meaning the series is probably still a pretty long way off.

When Will Alien Premiere?

With production of the series being halted due to the strikes and it yet to get back underway, there's a good chance we won't see the series in 2024.

((Photo by Dia Dipasupil/Getty Images for Tribeca Festival))

There are a couple of reasons for that, but the most important is that there will likely be a lengthy post-production process due to the VFX required to tell the story.

SEAL Team is Ending a Season Too Late

For that reason alone, we shouldn't expect the series to premiere before 2025.

Where Can I Watch Alien?

The series will be marked as an FX original series but will air on Hulu.

It follows in the footsteps of shows like The Bear and A Murder at the End of the World in that they don't air on the linear cable network.

This doesn't mean FX has any less faith in the project; it's just another sign of the deep ties between Disney and Hulu.

Is There a Trailer for FX's Alien?

Alien had barely started filming before being shut down due to the strikes, so there is no material for FX to market the show.

We probably won't get any footage from the series for a long time.

We'll update this page when the first footage is released.

The Bear will continue on FX on Hulu. A third season was officially picked up today, but when will it premiere? Get ALL the details right here.

It's always nice when a show in great creative shape with an original concept breaks through.

FX announced Monday morning that it was renewing its Hulu-exclusive series The Bear for Season 3.

The series, which focuses on behind-the-scenes of a restaurant and its staff, is on track to return in 2024.

(Frank Ockenfels/FX)

"The Bear, which wowed audiences in its first season only to achieve even greater heights in season two, has become a cultural phenomenon," said FX entertainment president Nick Grad.

"We're so proud to partner with Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Josh Senior, and the rest of the creative team, as well as the brilliant cast led by Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach."

Sydney Potrait.
(Frank Ockenfels/FX)

"What they and the crew have done is truly remarkable, and we and our partners at Hulu join fans in looking forward to the next chapter in the story of The Bear," the statement concludes.

The Bear has been a critical success since its inception, with The Bear Season 1 reaching 13 Emmy nominations, including comedy series and for stars White, Moss-Bachrach, Edebiri, and Jon Bernthal.

The Bear Season 2 dropped in June 2023, with Hulu opting to air all episodes simultaneously to give fans the entire season to devour.

Unfortunately, that meant the conversation surrounding the events of the second season was over pretty quickly.

It's a rarity to have a show with so many talking points, so we hope that's something FX and Hulu take on board with The Bear Season 3.

In June, FX revealed that The Bear Season 2 became the cabler's most-watched debut ever on Hulu.

The series surged 70% in total hours streamed over the first season after the first four days of viewing.

The Bear follows Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri), and Richard "Richie" Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they work to transform their grimy sandwich joint into a next-level spot.

Marcus Potrait
(Frank Ockenfels/FX)

As they strip the restaurant down to its bones, the crew undertakes transformational journeys of their own, each forced to confront the past and reckon with who they want to be in the future.

"Of course, it turns out the only thing harder than running a restaurant is opening a new one, and the team must juggle the insane bureaucracy of permits and contractors with the beauty and creative agony of menu planning," FX teased of The Bear Season 2 before its launch.

"The transition brings a newfound focus on hospitality as well.

"As the entire staff is forced to come together in new ways, pushing the boundaries of their abilities and relationships, they also learn what it means to be in service, both to diners and each other."

The impressive cast includes Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Matty Matheson, with Edwin Lee Gibson, Oliver Platt, and Molly Gordon in recurring roles.

FX's The Bear was created by Christopher Storer (Ramy, Eighth Grade), who acts as executive producer alongside Joanna Calo (BoJack Horseman, Undone), Hiro Murai (Atlanta, Station Eleven) of Super Frog, Josh Senior, and Matty Matheson, with Tyson Bidner (Ramy) serving as producer.

It's nice knowing that another season of the brilliant series is on the way because there are so many directions this could go.

FX touts the series as a "mystery with a new kind of detective at the helm."

"Darby and eight other guests are invited by a reclusive billionaire (Clive Owen) to participate in a retreat at a remote and dazzling location."

The impressive cast of the FX on Hulu series also includes Harris Dickinson, Brit Marling, Alice Braga, Joan Chen, Raúl Esparza, Jermaine Fowler, Ryan J. Haddad, and Pegah Ferydoni.

Also starring are Javed Khan, Louis Cancelmi, Edoardo Ballerini, Britian Seibert, Christopher Gurr, Kellan Tetlow, Daniel Olson, and Neal Huff.

Here is a wrap-up of all the news you need to know from Thursday, April 4, 2023.

Netflix is not moving forward with Freeridge Season 2.

The On My Block spinoff launched on the streaming service in February but failed to get much traction.

(Netflix)

The original series aired from 2018-21 and racked up impressive viewership for the service, so it's surprising the latest entry failed to resonate.

Freeridge was "a coming-of-age comedy following sibling rivals Gloria and Ines and their friends Demi and Cameron who have unleashed a curse bringing dark misfortune into their lives."

Pete Davidson is staging a comeback to Saturday Night Live, but it will be a one-time-only deal.

The SNL alum is set to host the May 6, 2023, installment of the veteran sketch show.

Davidson joined the show in 2014 and departed in May 2022.

"SNL is my home. I'm so happy and sad about tonight's show. For so many reasons I can't explain," he said when news of his exit broke.

"Can't wait to be back next year in a Mulaney musical number."

Davidson's return coincides with the premiere of his Peacock series, Bupkis, which drops Thursday, May 4.

Over on F.X., the cabler is moving forward with a U.S. take on the U.K. series, Peep Show.

Deadline reports that Minnie Driver (Speechless) and Amandla Jahava (Rap Sh*t) have landed the lead roles.

The series follows the relationship between a long-suffering assistant (Jahava) and her boss (Driver), an emotionally unstable tech entrepreneur.

Stefani Robinson will serve as the showrunner for the series, while Yana Gorskaya will direct.

Also at FX, the cabler's latest Hulu exclusive has a trailer, and it looks great.

We're talking about Class of '09 — not to be confused with Prime Video's brilliant Australian dramedy Class of '07.

Class of '09 will "follow a class of FBI agents set in three distinct points in time who grapple with immense changes as the U.S. criminal justice system is altered by artificial intelligence."

The Brian Tyree Henry and Kate Mara drama will launch on Wednesday, May 10, with the first two episodes.

Well, that was a surprise.

If you tuned in for the 95th Academy Awards Sunday, you were probably shocked to see a teaser and premiere month for FX on Hulu's The Bear.

But here we are.

The Bear Season 2 Teaser Still
(FX on Hulu)

We'll start with the most exciting news: The Bear Season 2 will premiere sometime in June.

That means we don't have that long to wait for fresh episodes of the hit comedy series.

Sydney Potrait.

In today's TV climate, shows are sometimes off the air for two to three years, so it's nice to know The Bear is returning precisely a year after its series debut.

The Bear is a half-hour comedy about a young chef who returns to Chicago to run the family restaurant.

The series is executive produced by Joanna Calo (Bojack Horseman, Undone), Hiro Murai (Atlanta, Station Eleven), and Nate Matteson (Station Eleven, The Choe Show) of Super Frog, Christopher Storer (Ramy, Eighth Grade), and Josh Senior.

In addition to Jeremy Allen White, The Bear stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Abby Elliott, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Edwin Gibson, and Matty Matheson in recurring roles.

While plot details for The Bear Season 2 remain under wraps for now, the caption on the tweet from FX on Hulu with the trailer says the following:

"It's not a reopening, it's a rebirth."

The Bear Season 2 was picked up in July, shortly after the series launched to acclaim.

"'The Bear' has exceeded our wildest creative, critical and commercial expectations," said FX Entertainment president Eric Schrier in a statement revealing the pickup.

"We can't wait to get to work on Season 2."

The numbers were solid for Hulu, and the show has the added benefit of awards love, so it should be around for the years to come.

Sarah Podemski is a treasure.

She's also doing double duty playing two incredible characters on both the acclaimed Reservation Dogs and the nothing remotely guilty about its pleasure, Resident Alien.

Both series are returning this month, and TV Fanatic caught up with Podemski to chat about Reservation Dogs' success, what to expect from Resident Alien's Kayla in the second half of the season, and keeping the momentum going with Indigenous representation in the industry, so check it out!

Jumping right in. Hopefully, I'm not being too presumptuous here, but it feels like a much-needed surge of mainstream Indigenous representation on screen right now, which is awesome. How does it feel for you to be at the forefront of that?

Yeah, I think that's what it's proven to be.

Over the last 30 or 40 years, there have been some incredibly successful Indigenous-led projects. But it seems that we haven't been able to sustain that energy.

And it seems like now, with Reservation Dogs and Rutherford Falls, it just seems like we're here to stay for the first time. It feels like people are finally watching and seeing how much talent we have, and people are trusting us to tell our own stories. So, yeah, it's exciting, and it feels very hopeful.

It does. I was just going to ask you, do you feel the industry will be able to keep that momentum? It seems like there are options now instead of just being grateful for a bit of space. There's diversity in the projects. Reservation Dogs, Dark Winds, Rutherford Falls…

I think it's a great time for BIPOC creators because there has been a shift in the audience. The audience is ready to dive into those stories with us. I don't know if it was discomfort or fear before, but over the last few years, there's been an audience that wants to see this new perspective. That's what storytelling is all about, especially in Hollywood.

We're always looking for that next voice, a fresh perspective, a new point of view. And we have it, especially when it comes from us when we have the lived experience.

We're not having non-Indigenous people tell our stories anymore because that's not authentic, so it's thrilling to see all the POC creators just killing it right now and feeling that we have enough support to keep this going because there's so much great content right now.

Reservation Dogs is huge. It's an award-winning critical darling. It's predominantly Native in front of and behind the camera, which makes all the difference in the world. Did you expect the series to blow up as much as it did?

I knew it was special. I knew we were doing something that was totally outside of the norm. I knew there would be a lot of attention because I hadn't seen anything like this. I didn't anticipate how much critical acclaim it would get, which was incredibly surprising but very welcome.

While doing it, there was this feeling that this might be a big deal. I think we all kind of had that feeling. It was a feeling I hadn't had before of feeling like we were going to break boundaries. Even if the critical acclaim didn't come, we were accomplishing something that hadn't been done before, which was precious.

You guys have snagged some well-deserved awards, which brings me to the Emmys. Since the nominations, many discussions have been about how Reservation Dogs is one of the biggest Emmy Snubs. Those awards and that validation aren't everything, but did it still sting a bit?

You know what? I was privileged to attend the Independent Spirit Awards, where we got the Best Ensemble and New Scripted Series awards. This is the first time for me to be part of this industry aspect, with the awards and voting.

It's fascinating to see that part of the industry and how many things go on behind the scenes that we don't know.

I understand how complicated it is, and it's hard to please everybody. I know people were really disappointed that we didn't get any Emmy nominations, but I've just been in a place of gratitude that we've even gained the acclaim that we have. It would have been wonderful, but I'm still in awe of how much recognition and love the show has gotten.

The show is getting better. Our second season is coming up, and it's so wilder, funnier, and full of love and craziness than the first season. Whatever awards come, the idea that we're constantly pushing our own boundaries and trying to create the best content possible is the special thing about being on a show like this.

Let's talk about Rita. We've seen a great deal of her dynamic with Bear, including that stand-out scene regarding his father. Will we dig further into Rita's story as a single mother and that relationship with Bear?

Yeah, the wonderful thing about season two for Rita is that we get to see her come into her own as a woman aside from being a mother, which I was so excited about. And we have this beautiful episode written by Tazbah Chavez.

It's been really nice to spend time with Rita as a woman, figuring out: Who am I? Aside from being a mother, where do my joys lie, and where does my happiness lie?

It was inspiring to dive in more in an intimate and incredibly comedic way. But we still have a lot of those beautiful moments there with Bear. In season two, we see Rita, the woman, not just Rita, the mother.

Which is obviously so very important. Reservation Dogs is considered a coming-of-age series. But I always feel that term often limits its focus on that certain period in your life coming into adulthood. I feel "coming of age" applies to everyone.

It happens at all different ages. I think it's cool to parallel adolescence with adulthood. It's a constant evolution in your 20s, 30s, 40s, 60s … which is important to explore because the whole idea of watching these stories is that we get to reach through people's TVs or computer screens and make people feel like they're not so alone with what they're going through.

I love being able to explore those themes with Rita as a woman because I think, yeah, when your kid gets old enough, I'm not a mother.

Still, I've witnessed that when the child leaves home, who are you as a single mother when you don't have to worry about your kid as much, and you have to get back to yourself whether you want to or not? It's an interesting new dynamic for Rita and Bear, too.

How about romance? Are we going to see more of her love life, too?

I can say it's possible. I'm not going to say no to anything. It's possible we'll see some for Rita.

Your sister is joining the cast this season, right? And she's playing your sister?

Yeah, she's playing a Cousin Sister. It was so fun to work together, and we have this beautiful episode. We have a few beautiful episodes that we get to play together, but it was fun because we've never worked together on a project.

Reservation Dogs Season 2
(FX)

Really?

Yeah, it's crazy. We've been in the same shows, but this was the first time we got to act in scenes like this, and it was so fun. And it's great to see your family and their work ethic; you're hoping they're nice to everybody. [Laughs]

But she's such a pleasure to work with, and it was so wonderful to see her work and to step aside and just actually look at her and watch her as an actress. It was very cool.

What other teases can you give us about the upcoming season of Reservation Dogs?

There's some pretty wacky stuff that happens, so I don't know if I can talk about it, but everyone's definitely going to be surprised. There are lots of very strange treats this season, so everyone's going to be pleasantly surprised.

Moving on to Resident Alien. They have so many strong, intelligent, well-written women. Can we expect more girls' night type of scenes and content? Because that's fun.

Yeah, it was so fun. We loved doing that episode.

The wonderful thing about Kayla, which is similar to what's going on with Rita, is that Kayla is also coming into her own as a woman, not just as a mother, and finding her joy and finding herself as a lawyer again.

I think all these things are exciting regarding how we're delving into the female characters. It's nice to be part of shows that are super thoughtful about that female journey — at any age, race, or shape. It's cool to just work with so many incredibly talented, funny women.

I've noticed the complexity of these two roles and the parallels. Is that what attracted you to them?

They were just really fully formed Native women. And the funny thing is Kayla was heavily written by Tazbah Chavez again, so I've been able to work with Tazbah on two shows. I had done Resident Alien a few years before Rez Dogs.

I hadn't encountered that many dynamic, nuanced Native female characters in my career. They were either written by Non-Indigenous people, which made it hard for me to put my stamp on them because there was an idea of what people wanted, or they weren't as fully realized as the other characters.

When I got the audition for Kayla, I was like, "Oh my God. She's this cool young mom who would punch you out if you insult her or her girls but also has the biggest heart.

(SYFY)

It was that balance of toughness and love that was so familiar to me, especially in the community of all the women I know. It's not an easy experience sometimes moving through the world as a Native woman. There's definitely a toughness and a thick skin that you have to develop, but then there's this humor, joy, too.

It's balancing those two opposites. But when I read Kayla, I was like, yeah, I know this woman and same with Rita.

I know these women. They were both so clearly created by women with that lived experience, which I just loved. That was something I found touching and familiar about reading both of those roles.

I understand you have many passions, and you come from an acting family, so you got that bug early, but you're getting into producing, too. What inspired you to get into that as well?

I love the creative process and the idea of more Indigenous people at the beginning of making film and television on a producer level.

Sarah Podemski - 5
(Jaclyn Vogl)

I saw through my experience that that's one way to avoid many missteps in terms of representation. If I can get involved in producing, I can start creating a really safe environment for other Indigenous people to join the team, whether it's writers, directors, or actors.

I just felt that in my experience, I never really had many people who were Native at that level to go into productions that I was part of until recently.

We just really need more producers. We need more showrunners. We need more directors, more writers, and more Native people filling those roles so that there is a sense of safety when we, as Native actors, come to a project.

Being exploited for your look or background is a really challenging thing about this industry. When you can come into a production with like-minded people championing representation, that's a powerful place to be in terms of creating the stories that we want to make and creating that safe environment for other Native people and other BIPOC in general.

It came out of a necessity where I felt I wasn't seeing it as much as I would have liked. I thought, well, stop complaining about it and just. Just start figuring it out.

That segues into my final question. What mark and impact would you love to make on the industry or in general, and how do you try to meet your goals?

I love the human experience. In times like these, we need hope, love, and to regain our faith in humanity, and I want to be part of that.

I want to be part of telling important stories that make people feel seen and heard. Because I believe that when we can experience other people's experiences, that's what creates empathy in us, and it changes how we communicate with each other.

It changes the way we vote. It changes the way we see different communities. It changes the way that we interact with each other. I believe that we can open up people's hearts and minds through entertainment.
